From Your Pastor...Ryan and Josh are at Dallas Baptist University, and Kloette and 1 start a new era in our lives. We are officially empty nesters—Ithink. There is still a lot of their stuff in the house; we have already had to send them money; and I know that they will be homein a few weeks, probably with laundry. Nevertheless, we are empty nesters.

One of the things I have learned in life is that every stage of life is filled with joy, wander, and purpose. David wrote, "Surelygoodness and love will follow me all the days of my life" (Ps. 23:6). The Hebrew word translated "love" is derived from a wordwhich means "to bend or bow oneself" or "to incline oneself." It denotes the condescending love of God for his people.

The stages of life may change, but God's love remains consistent. This guarantees that we will never find ourselves outside ofhis love. In every extremity of life, God's blessings are chasing us. His steadfast love for us is more valuable than life itself.Having encountered God so dramatically, David proclaimed, "Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. Iwill praise you as long as I live" (Ps. 63:3-4). No matter what the season, our lives should always be active in praising God.

In Christ,Toby Henson

If you are new to Our church family orlooking for a church home, Kloette and Iwould like to invite you to attend a homegroup designed to provide informationabout FBC. During our time together, wewill discuss foundations of our thith, ourmission statement, and expectations ofmembership. The home group will beginon October 3rd and last for four weeks. We will meet in our home at 609 RobinHood Ct. from 6-8:00pm. Kloette and Ilook forward to spending time with you.

If you haven't visited OUR Church Library you haven't beenin a GREAT library. Liz Jonas and her crew of volunteerskeep our library in tip top shape with all the latest books.Below are some titles you might want to look up.....

Have you ever wondered "What Christians believe, whythey believe it and why it matter?" You need to look up theCharles Colson and Harold Fickett book titled "TheFAITH" . This book is a powerful touchstone, a dynamic

4 exploration of what Christians believe, and why. Becauseyou can't defend what you can't explain, and you can't liveit until you learn it.

On a different note... "As Long As We Both Shall Live" byDr. Gary Smalley and Ted Cunningham will help you ex-perience the marriage you've always wanted. Whether youare just starting out, been married for years and need to re-connect, or having a few problems this book will help yoUmaneuver through whatever road you find yourselves on.Give it a try.

On a lighter note...Our children's needs are met also inour library. A book by Phillip W Rodgers called"When Does God Sleep?" is a cute book that will helpyour child fmd peace and comfort when they learn thatGod's love will follow and protect them no matterwhere they are or what time of day it is.

** *nielkyd ji We appreciate all the phone calls, cards andprayers upon the passing of my brother. YourT1Ur love was truly felt by our family.
