Creative Technology. We’ve pulled out all the stops for 2012. The
new EDELRID collection combines innovative engineering, made in
Germany, with outstanding creativity. We feel that this is the best
EDELRID collection yet.
2012 sees the introduction of our patented DuoTec technique, which
marks a further milestone in innovative rope manufacturing. The
two new additions to our Entrance Line feature this technique for
making bi-colour ropes. Needless to say, both the Viper 9.6 mm and
the Boa 9.8 mm are manufactured in accordance with the stringent
bluesign® standard.
With the Cable Vario, EDELRID is once again setting new standards for
via ferrata safety. It’s the first ever via ferrata set where braking resis-
tance can be individually adjusted according to the weight of the user.
This development is going to revolutionise the future of via ferrata sets.
EDELRID’s new ice tools cover all aspects of winter mountaineering.
Their intelligent, modular design means that they can be adapted to suit
all routes and conditions.
EDELRID helmets go from strength to strength. Two new models,
Shield II and Zodiac, continue the winning formula of innovative tech-
nology, attractive design and outstanding comfort.
Climbing shoes have formed an important part of the EDELRID portfolio
for two years now. 2012 sees the addition of four new models. The Sigwa
is a top-class shoe with superb edging stability and optimal sensitivity
in the toe area.
The EDELRID developers have designed a completely new product ran-
ge: alpine rucksacks. Two new technical packs provide a secure, positi-
ve carry and a raft of sophisticated features. As you would expect, they
benefit from EDELRID’s unique design for instant brand recognition.
EDELRID clothing incorporates casual, comfortable styling with robust
climbing-specific detailing. The new range includes several pieces in
technical performance fabrics. See, for example, the Commander soft-
shell pants – an essential item in anyone’s outdoor wardrobe.
We’re proud to present such a comprehensive collection of innovative
products and look forward to a successful 2012 season.
Quality and safety are the key to making responsible and innovative
high-performance ropes. EDELRID has been following this maxim
for the past 149 years. Our ropes and experience in manufacturing
them are the heart and soul of our long-established brand.
To further extend our quality and safety standards, we have been
working with bluesign® technologies ag from Switzerland since
2009. We are the first rope manufacturer to adapt our ropes to meet
the tough demands of the bluesign® standard. The bluesign® stan-
dard is the most stringent environmental standard for the produc-
tion of functional textiles. It is independent, internationally recogni-
sed and based on the five principles of sustainability. These include
resource productivity, emissions protection, safety at work and con-
sumer protection. The bluesign® standard’s goal is to follow these
five principles throughout the whole textile manufacturing chain.
EDELRID has set new industry benchmarks for innovative and su-
stainable rope production. All the materials used to make our ropes
are bluesign®-approved fabrics. We can therefore guarantee as few
pollutants as possible without making any compromises in terms of
functionality, quality and design. Our ropes carry the bluesign® pro-
duct label thanks to their combination of certified source materials
and our advanced rope production facilities in Isny. The bluesign
product label is a sign of quality. It guarantees an eco-friendly ma-
nufactured product that is low in pollutants and safe for heath and
the environment. As such, we have responded to consumers’ natural
demands for safe, environmentally friendly and sustainable products.
Three years of bluesign® allow us to draw on in-depth experience of
sustainable rope production. By converting all our rope production
to the tough demands of the bluesign® standard we were able to
make the following efficiencies when dyeing sheath yarns:
For EDELRID this represents a further step towards a sustainable
future. We have consistently pursued the task of pushing forward
sustainable rope production so that we can continue to inspire trust
in the future. We do not consider these measures a virtue, but a na-
tural response to demands of the modern world.
As the inventor of the kernmantel rope, we continue to set new stan-
dards. We can now confidently say that our ropes are eco-friendly.
The newest manufacturing technology and a highly elaborate finishing
process are the characteristics of the Pro Line. It unites minimal weight
and diameters with technical advances and superior handling. This ma-
kes the Pro Line your ideal partner for pushing the limits when every
gram counts. Pro Line’s advantage lies in the new Pro Shield finishing
process, one of the newest developments from EDELRID.
A product made using strictly regulated
environmentally-friendly processes that
contains no harmful substances.
A single rope, which complies to the twin and double rope standards. At
just 8.9 mm the Swift is one of the thinnest single ropes on the market,
making it the best choice for avid sport climbers looking for minimal
weight and diameter as well as mountain guides and mountaineers loo-
king for a rope that can master all climbing disciplines on rock and
ice. EDELRID Pro Shield treatment protects the core and sheath against
grim and wet while the Thermo Shield ensures perfect handling and
flexibility. Attention: this rope is not suitable for working routes or top
roping.
The Kite is the ultimate rope
for climbing at the upper limits
of today‘s climbing grades. Mi-
nimal weight, small diameter,
and optimum handling descri-
be this specialist rope. The Pro
Shield treatment on the Kite
repels moisture, dust and dirt,
while the Thermo Shield treat-
ment gives the rope the unique
EDELRID handling properties of
durability and suppleness. Not
suitable for working routes or
top rope climbing.
Extremely light yet robust, the
Falcon is ideal for hard routes,
on-sight, flash or redpointing
when every gram counts. With
our new special Pro Shield
treatment, the Falcon is ideal
for mixed routes and ice clim-
bing. EDELRID‘s Thermo Shield
treatment gives the rope perfect
handling properties.
To mark the middle of the rope,
the braiding spools are changed
halfway through the braiding
process to create two distinctly
different sheath patterns. Each
rope length has a different color.
Easy to find the middle with the
pattern change.
A universal lightweight rope
for climbing in alpine, crag
or indoor conditions. With
EDELRID‘s new and highly effi-
cient Pro Shield treatment, the
Eagle offers the perfect protec-
tion for wet or dirty conditions.
Equally at home on fast alpine
ascents where snow or rain
can be expected, or on a warm
sunny day at the crag, the Eagle
fulfils the task with flying co-
lors. EDELRID‘s Thermo Shield
handling coupled with the Pro
Shield helps provide excellent
handling at an amazingly low
weight of 62 g per meter.
The EDELRID Apus complies
with both twin and double rope
standards, making it the ideal
rope for alpine, mixed and ex-
treme mountaineering where
every gram counts. Despite a
very low weight of just over 2 kg
for a 50 m length, the Apus can
hold an amazing 20 double rope
test falls and 8-9 in the twin
rope test. This makes the Apus
one of the lightest twin ropes on
the market with high a degree of
safety. The EDELRID Pro Shield
treatment keeps the rope dry
and dirt-free while the Thermo
Shield treatment helps keep the
rope supple even after heavy
and prolonged use.

The Dry Line is EDELRID’s ideal allround rope series. Minimal weight,
high strength and durability are all perfectly balanced. Ropes treated
with the Dry Shield finish are resistant to water, dust and dirt. The Dry
Line is the only choice when it comes to choosing a rope for a multiple
of activities.
A product made using strictly regulated
environmentally-friendly processes that
contains no harmful substances.
We’ve made the sheath even thi-
cker on this EDELRID classic.
As a result, you get an extreme-
ly robust half rope with unparal-
leled quality and durability. The
thicker sheath and water- and
dirt-repellent Dry Shield finish
make its particularly suitable
for alpine mountaineering and
ice climbing. If climbing in a
team of three, the Kestrel also
provides extra safety when
bringing up two seconds. If you
want a half rope with additional
security and extended durabili-
ty, then the Kestrel is what you
are looking for.
For those who value minimum
diameter and weight with a ma-
ximum degree of strength and
safety. At 44 g per meter, you
still have comfortable handling
while belaying. Thanks to the
water, dirt and dust resistant
Dry Shield treatment, the Mer-
lin provides unrivalled quality
and performance even when the
going gets tough. In addition,
the Thermo Shield treatment
ensures optimum handling even
in icy weather conditions.
The Heron is the new flagship in
the EDELRID Dry Line. Its low
weight, high strength and excel-
lent handling perfectly comple-
ment each other. The Dry Shield
finish protects against moisture
and dirt, while the EDELRID
Thermo Shield finish ensures
smooth handling. These cha-
racteristics make the Heron the
perfect all-rounder. Whether
sport routes or winter climbing,
the Heron is suitable for all con-
ditions.
The new Dry Shield finish has
helped us reduce the diameter
on the Harrier, a classic EDEL-
RID rope, without reducing its
strength. With the advantage
of this tough construction, the
Harrier is useable in both the
mountains and low-lying crags.
The Dry Shield finish protects
against moisture and dirt. The
Thermo Shield treatment gua-
rantees an agreeable handling
even after a lot of use and abuse.
The Sports Line has become the choice of sport climbing champions.
The double-braid construction creates a particularly tight and smooth
sheath which is very abrasion resistant and the Thermo Shield treat-
ment provides the famous EDELRID handling characteristics. Those
who have tried these ropes once have become permanent, convinced
users. Anyone searching for a rope that will be worked hard, the Sports
Shield is the right choice.
A product made using strictly regulated
environmentally-friendly processes that
contains no harmful substances.
Those looking for a rope that can be worked hard make the right deci-
sion when choosing the Hawk. With a weight of only 63 g per meter,
the Hawk is a super lightweight for its class. This weight advantage,
coupled with our Thermo Shield treatment and its sport braid sheath
construction makes this an ideal choice for all types of sport climbing.
For crag climbing there isn‘t a better rope. The particularly tight Sports
Braid sheath construction in combination with slightly thicker yarns
has given the Osprey an incredibly tough and durable sheath. This is
why even after many falls the Osprey looks almost as good as new.
The Shikra is particularly good for trad climbing where a double “sport”
rope is needed. Its slightly thicker diameter and thicker sheath provide
an extra margin of safety when one rope is heavily loaded during a fall
or when climbing in a team of three. The Shikra‘s special double Sports
Braid construction provides extra abrasion protection on particularly
rough rock like sandstone or granite. The Thermo Shield treatment pro-
vides easy and supple handling for this EDELRID rope.
Proven EDELRID quality and excellent value for money describes the
Entrance Line. The sturdy construction of the Entrance Line makes this
rope a constant companion at the crag and in the gym.
A product made using strictly regulated
environmentally-friendly processes that
contains no harmful substances.
A lightweight, smaller diameter
single rope with optimal hand-
ling. The Viper is particularly
suitable for sports routes. The
thicker sheath (45%) means
makes it extraordinarily robust,
despite its smaller diameter.
Our new DuoTec process provi-
des permanent marking in the
middle of the rope and a distinct
design.
An ideal rope for the price- and
quality-conscious climber. Even
though it‘s a great value, the
handling qualities of the Python
are the equal of much more ex-
pensive ropes, and makes clim-
bing and belaying a pleasure
from the very first day. Surpri-
singly light and durable for a
rope in this price range.
A robust, abrasion resistant sin-
gle rope and great value for the
money. Its robust construction
and the Thermo Shield treat-
ment make the Cobra a reliable
companion for cragging and in-
door climbing.
The Boa is a good introductory
rope to the sub 10.0 mm diame-
ter range. The 9.8 mm Boa is a
very universal rope that fea-
tures EDELRID‘s Thermo Shield
treatment, giving it excellent
handling properties. Our new
DuoTec process provides perma-
nent marking in the middle of
the rope and a distinct design.
The special braided core construction of the Tower is extremely flexi-
ble and robust, making it well suited for a life as a top rope and for
the extremely dry and dusty conditions at a climbing gym. The unique
core construction also reduces core herniation, which can occur due
to excessive top roping. With the EDELRID Dry Shield finish and Ther-
mo Shield treatment the Tower still maintains the traditional characte-
ristics of an EDELRID rope: suppleness, good handling, and abrasion
resistance. This rope is suitable for climbing beginners but performs
excellently outdoors as well.
Sometimes your nerves need a little support – above all with children
– when you are on a demanding walk, Class-4 scramble, or with less
experienced climbers in the mountains. For such moments we have the
Confidence, an 8.0 mm rope with a host of uses and always good to have
with you. Not to be used on Glaciers.
Slightly less strechy than our Superstatic models, the EDELRID Pro-
static rope is manufactured with a single braid construction to lessen
resistance when the rope passes through descending devices.
With its low elongation and very durable sheath, the Superstatic is ide-
al for meeting the demanding conditions of caving, rescue, industrial
and expedition use. Manufactured with a sheath that is tightly woven
to prevent the entry of dirt into the core, the sheath construction also
makes it resistant to abrasion and the wear from ascenders.
A floating rope especially made for canyoning. The special sheath
construction makes this rope very hard wearing for intensive abseiling
in wet conditions which is essential when canyoning. Meets the CE Sta-
tic rope standard EN 1891 Type B. Bright colours assist visual location
under water. Available in 9.0 (only use in double strand) and 11.0 mm.
EDELRID’s accessory cord is a very hard-wearing cord. Easy to knot due
to the special sheath construction, additionally the Powerloc Expert is
fleck marked to enable the diameter to be ascertained even on worn
cords. Available on 50 or 100 m rolls.
Multicords are real all-rounders and definitely should be part of your
climbing , camping or household equipment. The extremely robust and
tear-proof cords can be used universally.
Specially-designed accessory cord made of high-strength aramid. Its
minimal stretch properties make it ideal for hauling up material or
even abseiling. Not suitable for lead climbing, working routes or top
rope climbing.
All technical specifications for our climbing and semi-static ropes have been determined by the independent, UIAA approved test institute at Stuttgart University (IFT)

The Smith harness combines optimal comfort and
minimal weight, and sets new standards for high-end
harnesses. The Tri-Laminate technology ensures the
perfect distribution of pressure and load on the wa-
ist loop, and the anatomically formed leg loops with
elastic mesh insert mold snugly around the thighs.
The E-Turn system raises the comfort level and user
friendliness of this single buckle harness. In addition
the Smith is fitted with four fixed gear loops and one
chalk bag loop. To increase the lifetime of this har-
ness, the Smith is fitted with a Hytrel®-Protector at
the tie-in point.
The Creed banishes the need to decide between
weight and comfort when going alpine climbing. This
harness is a three buckle design for extreme use and
incorporates the Tri-Laminate technology. EDELRID
is the first manufacturer to integrate quick-adjust 10
mm Easy-Glider buckles in the leg loops. Combined
with the elastic mesh insert, the leg loops meet all
the comfort needs of a sport harness but have full ad-
justability. This adjustability allows the harness to fit
– whether you’re sport climbing with light clothes in
summer or mountaineering with heavy insulation in
winter – and fulfills the safety standards despite its
very low weight. E-Turn, Hytrel®-Protector, and four
asymmetrical gear loops make the Creed an unbeata-
ble alpine harness.
The lightweight Korben is a real all-rounder. Regard-
less if you are sport or alpine climbing this harness
is perfect in all terrains. Fitted with all the features
that unify minimal weight and maximum comfort,
the Korben has Tri-Laminate construction, Hytrel®-
Protector at the tie-in point, and the combination of
10 mm buckles and 3D mesh in the leg loops. To keep
the tie-in point and the four gear loops centered, the
Korben is fitted with two buckles on the waist loop
using the E-Turn system, which also give this harness
a large adjustment range for added versatility.
An ultra light harness for performance-oriented
sport, indoor and competition climbing. The Loopo
works without a buckle (the aluminium quick clip is
for positioning support only), helping to reduce the
weight to only 265 g, making this EDELRID innova-
tion the lightest fully functional padded harness on
the market. A very high level of comfort is attained
through the Triad®-System and the ergonomic design
which hugs the waistline and thighs giving maximum
sitting comfort. The Loopo‘s low tie-in point enhan-
ces clipping and paying out rope when belaying. The
Loopo comes standard with two integral and extre-
mely sturdy gear loops. Additional gear loops can be
attached if required. The Loopo is a no-compromise
harness for all vertical disciplines where minimum
weight and maximum comfort are required.
The female version of the Loopo harness. Specifically
designed for the female form.
The Loopo Light has been designed for high alpine
touring, back country skiing and glacier walking
situations where minimum weight and maximum
breathability are desired. The Loopo Light is perfect
however for Via Ferrata, or as a spare harness fitting
into almost any pocket. With a weight of only 210 g,
the Loopo Light is one of the lightest, fully functional
climbing harnesses on the market. The fully breatha-
ble mesh provides unbeatable comfort and the Triad®-
System ensures a close, ergonomic fit and the two
patented Slide Rail®-System gear loops can be positi-
oned wherever desired on the harness. This harness
has become an absolute favorite amongst mountain
guides.
Reinhard Fichtinger
The Moe is a very comfortable ergonomically cut har-
ness. The moveable foam waist padding allows the
tie-in area to be centralized and ensures an optimal
positioning of the four fixed gear loops. The Triad®-
System and longer elastic provide a perfect leg loop fit
and the Hytrel®-Protector on the tie-in loop protects
the webbing from abrasion while the 28 mm Easy Gli-
der buckle is easy to adjust and close. The Moe is a
comfortable and very robust sport climbing harness.
The Jay is the real all-arounder in the EDELRID coll-
ection. This harness features adjustable leg loops,
flexible gear loops, positionable waist padding
and Hytrel®-Protector on the tie-in loop, which pro-
tects the webbing from abrasion. Finishing it off,
EDELRID‘s 28 mm Easy Glider buckle is used the wa-
ist belt while the 20 mm buckles are perfect for the
leg loops. The Jay is an ideal all-around harness for
all types of climbing.
With its large adjustment range and safety features,
the Duke is ideally suited for training and rental
use. The Duke is fitted with two EDELRID Easy Gli-
der buckles in the waist belt and fully adjustable leg
loops. The two-buckle system in the waist provides
for optimal centering of both the tie-in loop and the
haul loop at the back regardless of climber size. Ad-
ditionally, there are four flexible gear loops, and the
Hytrel®-Protector on the tie in loop safeguards against
rope abrasion. As a fully adjustable, comfortable har-
ness, the Duke‘s components and features also make
it a great all-around harness.
The Austin is a tough rental-oriented harness ideal for courses and
climbing walls. The adjustable padding in the waist loop is easily cen-
tered and allows a greater sizing range. Different colors identify the
harness size at a glance, and the waist and leg loops are distinguished
from each other by their different colors, making the orientation of the
harness much easier for beginners. Features two robust gear loops and
the integrated “window” for individual marking of the harness, while
the Hytrel®-Protector reduces the rope abrasion at the tie-in point, hel-
ping to extend the lifespan of the harness.
The Finn is an excellent value for money fully adjustable children’s
harness. Thanks to the second buckle in the waist belt, the harness`
tie-in loop can be optimally centered, and the no-threading Easy Glider
buckles are fast, easy and safe.
The Randonee alpine harness has been developed for classic mountai-
neering and back country skiing. The clip-in buckles on the leg loops
allow the harness to be put on while wearing skis or crampons. Despite
the Randonee‘s light weight, the waistbelt is comfortable with adequate
padding and easy to use clip-in buckle.
The Joker was developed with adventure education in mind – this is a
harness for guiding schools, rental and training events. Another key
safety aspect is the Jocker`s buckles can not be opened. The Joker is
also available in size extra small for children.
The Solid is a lightweight full body harness ideally suited for Via Fer-
rata. The clip in buckles allow the harness to be completely opened and
put on like a jacket, which is advantageous when the harness has to
be put on in steep terrain or when wearing mountaineering boots or
crampons . For clarity, there is color differentiation between waist and
leg webbing and “left-right” tabs on the leg loops. Gear loops allow Via
Ferrata sets and other pieces of gear to be clipped out of the way when
not needed.
The Fraggle is a padded full body harness for children up to 40 kg. Its
padding helps maintain its shape and makes it easier to put on and take
off. The Fraggle is a fully-fledged harness with an additional tie-in loop
at the back for securing when on rough or steep terrain.
The Agent is far superior to conventional chest harnesses with their
endless buckles. The classic figure-of-eight shape has just one Easy Gli-
der buckle. Its weight-saving construction is padded to improve venti-
lation. The Agent can be worn under a rucksack and used with all sit
harnesses. Chest harnesses should only be used in combination with a
sit harness.
A fully adjustable children’s chest harness which is ideal for use with
the Finn children’s sit harness. Because a child’s center of gravity is
somewhat higher than adults, the chest harness prevents the child from
tipping backwards. The use of a chest harness for young children is
particularly recommended as it supports and helps the child feel more
comfortable and safe in climbing surroundings. One big advantage of
this chest harness is its adjustability range, which allows the harness
and child to grow together. The harness design is the classic 8-form,
and is adjusted with one buckle. Chest harness should only be used in
combination with a sit harness.

Via ferratas are becoming more and more popular. Including for fa-
milies with children. Via ferrata sets have a shock absorber to prevent
falls and minimize the risk of injury. Controlled braking (of the person
falling) significantly reduces the fall factor and the resulting impact
force on the body and anchor point.
The current safety standard (EN 958) on via ferrata sets requires that
they can withstand a 5 m fall with a weight of 80 kg and a maximum
impact force of 6 kN. The maximum braking distance may not exceed
1.2 m.
Research using test dummies has shown that shock absorbers desi-
gned in accordance with EN 958 have braking distances of only a few
centimetres when used by lighter persons weighing 30 kg (Fig 1). This
means that these via ferrata sets provide virtually no dynamic shock
absorption, and cause substantial impact forces, which could be parti-
cularly dangerous for children or lighter users (Fig 2).
The EDELRID Cable Vario has a solution to this design flaw. The Cable
Vario is the first ever via ferrata set with braking resistance that can
be adjusted according to the weight of the user. The Cable Vario’s core
component is the newly developed and patented Variobrake. It allows
braking resistance to be individually adjusted according to the user’s
weight, similar to the Z-Value or release setting for ski bindings.
The advantage is clear: a via ferrata set that can be adjusted to suit all
users. It ensures a braking distance of 1.2 m and minimizes impact
force for children and lighter users (Fig. 3) . Serious injurious caused by
non-triggered energy absorbing systems is avoided. With the Cable Va-
rio, EDELRID is once again setting new standards for via ferrata safety.
The Cable Vario naturally includes tried and trusted EDELRID technolo-
gy, such as our patented OneTouch carabiners. Together with the elasti-
cated webbing they ensure good handling when clipping or unclipping.
The Cable Vario is a compact via ferrata set with “state of the art” safety
features.
Fig. 3: EDELRID Cable Vario: braking distances with 30 kg, 50 kg and 80 kg.

The flagship and standard setter, the Cable Comfort Via Ferrata set is
fitted with EDELRID patented OneTouch-carabiners offering an ease of
use like never before. The patented opening mechanism opens easily
just by pushing on the spine and prevents fingers getting stuck between
gate and steel cable. The flat laser-formed design prevents the carabiner
from breaking in a side load situation. Elastic ends keep the carabiners
near to hand and the integrated swivel prevents twisting of the ends.
The Cable Comfort set conforms to the EN 958 safety standard.
The EDELRID classic in a new design. This innovative via ferrata set
has a zipped shock absorber to reduce impact in the event of fall. The
absolute highlights are the EDELRID OneTouch carabiners. The paten-
ted opening mechanism with automatic closure opens easily just by
pushing on the spine. This prevents fingers getting stuck between gate
and cable. Its extremely flat, laser-formed design prevents the carabi-
ner from breaking in a side load situation. With its elasticated webbing
the Cable Kit 4.0 ensures safe and easy handling. Complies with the EN
safety standard 958 and the UIAA standard 128.
Very light and compact Via Ferrata set at just 270 grams this is one of
the lightest and safest sets available. The specially developed webbing
for the ends and attachment loop are made of a 12 mm Dyneema®/po-
lyamide yarn mix coupled with the EDELRID super light auto closing
carabiners has reduced weight to an absolute minimum. Safety is al-
ways a top priority, and despite the exceptionally low weight the Cable
Ultralight conforms to the EN 958 safety standard. The Ultralight is so
compact, it will fit easily in a jacket pocket.
Light and compact for a safe and enjoyable Via Ferrata adventure. The
Y construction with elastic ends and shock absorber help keep the ca-
rabiner near to the body at all times optimizing ease of handling. Ad-
ditional safety is provided by the robust Brenta carabiner with palm
squeeze mechanism to prevent unintentional opening. The Cable Lite is
attached directly via the tape loop to the harness using a lanyard hitch
knot. Complies with the EN standard 958.
A classic Via Ferrata set with rope brake and Y form construction. The
integrated swivel prevents twisting and the elasticized ends ensure that
the one-hand operation Triton carabiners remain close-by. Attached to
the harness via the webbing loop using a lark’s foot/girth hitch knot.
Tested to EN 958.
It’s best not to fall on a via ferrata. This is why EDELRID developed the
Via Ferrata Belay Kit. The Via Ferrata Belay Kit is the optimal belay sa-
fety set to bring up children or beginners on steep or technical sections
of a via ferrata. It consists of a belay plate with automatic self-braking
and a 15m single rope with sewn termination at both ends Comes in a
practical packsack and stows easily in any rucksack.
An ultralight and robust “soft shell” helmet weighing only 280 grams
that provides optimal protection from impact and falling stones. Thanks
to its revolutionary Wing-Fit system and rear adjustment dial the Shield
II fits all sizes and guarantees outstanding safety and comfort. During
transport the cradle folds into the helmet, significantly reducing pack
size. The Airflow system will help you keep a cool head; its large side
vents prevent heat build-up and ensure a constant supply of fresh air
on long alpine routes. Thanks to its innovative closure system under the
ear, the chin and neck area remains free from buckles. With four robust
head torch clips.
The Zodiac is a lightweight and extremely stable hybrid helmet with
an ABS shell and EPS foam liner. The Wing-Fit system with rear ad-
justment dial allows easy adjustment and an individual fit. Thanks to
its innovative closure system under the ear, the chin and neck area re-
mains free from buckles. The cradle folds into the helmet, significantly
reducing pack size. With integrated head torch clips.
The Targa is a hybrid type helmet with an ABS shell and an EPS foam
liner. Easy adjustment (from 52 to 62 cm) and low weight (370 g) make
the Targa not just a great climbing helmet but also ideal for ropes course
and instructional use. The cradle is hinged to fold inward making sto-
rage easier. EDELRID Wig model helmet covers are also available to
individualize your helmet or to distinguish groups apart (e.g. course
leaders and pupils). The Targa is available in three colors.
This is, what climbers and alpinists have been dreaming for in a long
time. The Madillo is strong and compact, and due to its small pack size
it can be stowed easily in the backpack. The shell sides slide into the
top and the back folds in, reducing the helmets pack volume by 50%.
Other unique features are the shell made of a high-strength abrasion
and impact-resistant injected material. Three different foam materials
– EPS, EPP and EVA – provide an optimum of comfort and safety. EPS
foam is used in the upper half of the shell as it provides the best shock
absorption, while the sides are made of EVA which is softer, providing a
better and more comfortable fit. The rear panel of the Madillo covers the
back of the neck providing additional protection. The size is adjustable
from 52 to 62 cm, made so by squeezing the rear panel forwards once
the helmet is on your head. A revolutionary helmet to suit everybody’s
needs.
When the Ultralight came on the market in the 1980s, this was probab-
ly the best climbing helmet in the world – and is still a top choice today.
The Ultralight‘s classic shape and sturdy construction makes this hel-
met absolutely ideal for institutional use in places like adventure parks
or climbing schools. Nevertheless, experienced climbers and mountai-
neers appreciate its timeless design and great value for money. It’s no
wonder that this helmet has received so many awards over the years.
Head size 54-60 cm.
The children‘s version of the Ultralight designed specifically for smaller
heads. The Ultralight Junior offers the same safety reserves as the basic
model. It is also equipped with an easy-to-use locking system. Fits head
size 48-58 cm.
The Raven is our top-class shoe pre-destined for all those who expect
the maximum performance (assistance) from their shoe whether boul-
dering or climbing. The combination of an asymmetric, extremely cam-
bered last with our specially developed “green” EDELRID heel strap
allows a progressive load transmission from the heel into the big toe
area. This gives the Raven unparalleled precision when standing on the
smallest of edges or when pulling and hooking on steep routes. The
Raven can be used as a slipper or with hook and loop band thanks to
the unique Slide-Rail® system enabling the removal of the band. The
revolutionary 2-Tension-Heel offers unbeatable hooking performance.
Vibram® XS-Grip sole for the best coefficient of friction. Form and tensi-
on is maintained an upper of synthetic leather.
Designed on the same last as the Raven, the Typhoon is the shoe for
high-end climbing and offers an aggressive, performance-oriented shoe
for demanding boulder problems and sport climbing routes. Thanks to
the redeveloped E-Grip Sole, the Typhoon is amazingly sensitive wi-
thout losing edging stability. The green EDELRID heel strap supports
the transmission of power into the toe box and big toe area to keep your
foot on the rock, while the high-tension heel cup makes even compli-
cated heel hooks child’s play. The upper material combination of soft
natural leather in the rear of the shoe and Lorica synthetic leather in
the toe box area ensures unbeatable comfort and helps to maintain per-
formance over time. The opposing pull straps and neoprene tongue help
the Typhoon fit like a second skin.
The Sigwa combines the Typhoon’s edging stability with the Raven’s
outstanding precision. We’ve made this possible by developing a new,
slightly narrower last with a 4 mm E-Grip Sole. The resulting high-end
shoe delivers outstanding performance. Its aggressive shape delivers
full load transmission onto the tiniest of holds, while the High Tension
Heel makes the most difficult of heel hooks a piece of cake. The natural
leather upper and Lorica synthetic leather toe box deliver outstanding
comfort and maintain form and tension over time.
A perfectly tuned lace up shoe for all climbing situations. The asym-
metric, slightly cambered last offers the right degree of precision, sen-
sitivity and comfort. Whilst the green EDELRID heel strap provides a
progressive power transmission to the toe area, the sensitive midsole
allows “fatigue free” standing on the smallest of edges. Soft uppers of
leather for a perfect fitform and in the toe area of synthetic leather pre-
venting too much stretch. Heel hook performance is optimized with a
high-tension full-rubber heel cup with a sole of tried and tested Vibram®
XS-Grip for the “stick”.
The Tornado is our all-round weapon. Regardless if you are bouldering,
sport climbing or on a multi pitch alpine climb, the Tornado is at home
in all climbing situations. Built on the same last as the Hurricane,
the Tornado offers the perfect symbiosis of precision, sensitivity and
comfort. The two Velcro® straps can be adjusted lengthways and the
large Velcro® patch on the shoe permits variability in positioning of
the straps. The full tensioned rubber heel cap will help you stick the
trickiest of hooks and the Vibram® XS-Grip the smallest edge.
The Reptile is the perfect shoe for beginners, rental programs, traditi-
onalists or those who just want a comfortable shoe. Offering stability
with its straight cut and light asymmetrical form the Reptile is ener-
gy saving: Its strengthened midsole gives increased support for the
“unseasoned” climbing foot or for long routes. The Comfort Tension
Heel provides heel support and the right degree of shoe tension. This
construction combined with all-leather uppers and toe start lacing gi-
ves the Reptile a comfortable and precise fit for all foot forms.
The Blizzard is the most comfortable climbing shoe we’ve ever made.
Its straight cut and asymmetrical form save energy and the reinforced
midsole provides increased support for edging or small footholds. Dou-
ble Velcro® straps enable perfect adjustment and the Comfort Tension
Heel provides just the right amount of heel support and shoe tension.
High-quality natural leather uppers give the Blizzard a precise and
comfortable fit.
The Tempest is a very comfortable straight cut shoe specially developed
for rental use in indoor climbing walls. The tough E Grip sole ensures
the best possible lifespan for the shoe and the green rubber on the toe
wall indicates when the shoe should be resoled. The Three Velcro®
straps and the large opening provide good entry and exit from the shoe.
The clearly visible size disc on the heel improves efficiency in sorting
the shoes and handing out the right size and the clip button on the heel
pull strap helps to keep the pairs together. Full sizes only.
The perfect shoe for the rock stars of tomorrow, the Crocy’s flexible
“hinge“ patch in the heel area of the shoes expands two whole sizes –
advantageous for fast-growing feet. Two Velcro® pull straps assist easy
putting on and fitting of the shoe. The soft sole helps to train coordinati-
on and precision on small holds. Includes a name plate to write a name
and a small surprise!

environmentally-friendly processes that
contains no harmful substances.
This is the perfection of our already popular belay station sling. The
adjustable station sling offers for the first time in a sling, adjustability
in the length whatever the situation without having to use additional
equipment. An anchor point is fixed with a carabiner and the belay
ring. The second anchor point is fixed with a carabiner in the large
sling which can then be pulled tight ensuring an even force on the an-
chor points. This is the first time two anchor points can be joined with
an even tension with 22 kN. Other uses include, an adjustable personal
belay point, etrier, or for block sling protection.
The Belay Station Sling Deluxe is the latest innovation from EDELRID.
This innovative belay sling makes it quicker and easier to set up and
manage belays. It has an integrated belay plate instead of a central loop
suitable for bringing up two other climbers independently. When absei-
ling, the belay plate has two separate friction modes. The sewn sling is
made of very strong Tech Web and can also be used as a personal belay
point. The belay plate even doubles as a bottle opener at the end of the
day. What more could you want?
This EDELRID classic is now available with our award-winning Tech
Web webbing. It combines the high-tensile strength of Dyneema® with
the easy and stable knotting characteristics of a polyamide sling. The
ultimate lanyard-type sling for a quick set up and safe back up of your
belay.

I’ve always been passionate about alpine climbing; it’s how I got into
climbing in the first place! The experience of being surrounded by
nature, the mental challenge, the summits ... used to mean more to
me than climbing 20 m sport routes. We would walk past boulders
shaking our heads. Due to a knee injury, I was forced to stop clim-
bing for several years. Two years ago I felt the urge to climb alpine
routes again. I noticed that I forget my sport routes were pretty
quickly, while experiences in the mountains remained with me. Ha-
ving said, that sport climbing does of course have its own particular
appeal.
My preparations were not exactly ideal. An injured finger put me out
of action for four months. I was working and studying for my teacher
training qualification for mechanical engineering, but managed to

find time to train three times a week at the wall. From August of the
previous year until I travelled to the Cima Ovest, I only climbed 5
times on rock outside. My mental training for the “biggest route on
earth” fell by the wayside somewhere in the boulder room.
Both routes are demanding in similar ways. The crux sections in
Bellavista are protected only by pitons. Panaroma is bolted, but with
long run outs up to 12 meters. Panaroma is physically harder. It has
a long 60 m (10+) pitch followed by a strenuous 15 m (11-) crux sec-
tion. Bellavista has most of its difficult climbing concentrated in just
one pitch. Both routes require good conditions. If warm air comes in
from the valleys and condenses on the cold North Face, there is no
chance of a full ascent. Unlike Panaroma, I was unlucky on Bellavi-
sta. The route was wet the whole time, apart from two days. This of-
ten made the bold climbing on the entry pitches (graded 7-9) pretty
dangerous.
My good friend Wolfgang Widder, not only did he belay me, he also
climbed a lot Bellavista himself. We were able to motivate and learn
from each other. It was really important that we got on well. This is
crucial when you are both tired and hungry and stuck at a belay up
in the wall.
Respect Alex! His first ascent, alone and in winter represents a far
greater achievement than repeating the route. It’s amazing to think
that he had the vision to climb straight through such a huge roof.
The whole experience. Being out in nature, the walk in at sunrise,
sitting out storms under Baur’s Roof (the huge roof on the Cima
Ovest), these are experiences that remain with you for the rest of
your life. And then there’s the sporting element. I really relish wor-
king to perfect the combination of power, technique, coordination
and mental strength.
My personal milestones are my first 8a Have fun and top and my first
9a Mongo. I was particularly pleased with my redpoint of Grandi
Guesti (9a). Alongside Bellavista und Panaroma, my climbing trip to
China was an amazing experience.
Due to time constrictions, I mainly train at the wall. On a typical day,
I get home from work at 17:00. After a short power nap, I go for a cup
of coffee and a piece of cake at “Two and a half man”. Then I train
from half past seven until closing time.
I never liked comparing myself to others, I prefer to compete against
myself. Routes are constants. Come back 2 years later and they are
still exactly the same. I want to raise my own standards, not compete
against others. Any anyway, routes on rock are far more interesting
than competitions.
It would have to be the Schleier Waterfall in Tyrol, Austria.
I want to climb more tough alpine routes, either repeat or first as-
cent. When it comes to sport climbing, I want to repeat Weiße Rose
(9a+). And as for bouldering, Unendliche Geschichte (Fb8b+) heads
up my tick list. I would also really like to travel to South Africa.
Difficult one. I really like the Creed harness. And I swear by the new
clothing, such as the Pants and the McLane soft shell jacket. My fa-
vourite rope is the Swift.
This quickdraw set is designed just like the Pure Dyneema® Set with
the innovative 12 mm Tech Web quickdraw sling but utilizes the Pure
wire carabiners. Due to the wire gates, this set reduced the whip-lash
effect and the gates won’t freeze up. This quickdraw comes with the
Antitwist for the lower carabiner.
The set uses the new Pure Keylock carabiners and innovative
EDELRID Tech Web in a 12 mm quickdraw sling with Dyneema® core
and a protective polyamide sheath. It comes with the Antitwist for the
lower carabiner.
A quickdraw set with bent and straight wire carabiners from the Pure
family. The wire gate minimizes the whip-lash effect and won’t freeze
up in winter. A 16 mm polyamide sling including Antitwist joins the
Pure carabiners in a trustworthy quickdraw set.
Classic set with keylock offering the best possible handling when clip-
ping. The Antitwist on the integrated 16 mm Polyamide sling prevents
twisting and keeps the lower karabiner in place at all times when un-
clipping bolts and gear and helps prevent undue abrasion at this point
of the sling.
A sturdy all-round carabiner for all climbing styles. The bent and
straight gate versions have a Keylock closure. Also available in bent
and straight wiregate configuration.
Our lightest quickdraw set. A combination of two very lightweight Mis-
sion wire gate carabiners and a very thin but ultra-strong 8 mm Dynee-
ma® draw reduces weight to a minimum and includes Antitwist fixing
for the lower biner. The 60 cm version is ideal for straightening rope
lines on tricky alpine routes.
The Antitwist fixes the lower carabiner and sling preventing unwanted
rotation of the biner during use. Available for 8, 11 and 16 mm quick-
draw slings.
Weighing in at just 25 g, the Mission is one of the lightest carabiners
in its class. Despite its minimal weight, the Mission is very robust with
breaking strength values of 23-8-7 kN. This has been made possible
by combining shape and functionality and removing any excesses. The
large gate opening of 20 mm exceeds that of many larger carabiners
and provides excellent clipping comfort. The ideal carabiner for alpine
tours where material weight reduction and maximum safety reserves
are essential.
An ultra light set for ascents at the limit where every gram counts. The
Catch 22 Set is a combination of the ultra light Catch 22 straight gate
ant the Catch 22 bent gate, joined by an 8 mm Dyneema® sling with
integrated antitwist. Weight has been reduced to an absolute minimum.
The keylock system on the gate ensures perfect handling when clipping
and unclipping the karabiners.
The Catch Wire Set is a combination of straight and bent wire gate cara-
biners with a 11 mm Dyneema® sling and integrated anti-twist rubber
fixing.
The Catch is an extremely lightweight and shapely high-end carabiner.
A special hot forging technique allows for the optimal use of material
while at the same time creating an unrivalled surface finish. The large
keylock gate opening offers easy clipping und unclipping and the large
radius is particularly kind to ropes. The Catch is available as a straight
or bent gate.
An object of desire: The Catch Wire is an extremely strong wire gate
carabiner from the Catch family. Thanks to its special hot forging tech-
nique and H profile, an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio is achie-
ved – for such a light carabiner, the Catch Wire‘s maximum breaking
strength ratings of 24-7-10 kN speak for themselves. The large gate ope-
ning offers the best possible clipping and unclipping, while the large
body radius is particularly kind to ropes.
The latest new innovation from EDELRID. A new generation of HMS
carabiner with automatic gate closure that makes it possible to keep
weight down to a minimum. The Keylock gate ensures good handling.
These characteristics, combined with its compact form make the Strike
Slider ideal for alpine climbing on routes where every gram counts.
A compact HMS carabiner with a wire gate to fix it to the harness. The
carabiner is held in place while belaying to prevent cross-loading. The
tried and trusted Keylock gate ensures good handling when clipping or
unclipping.
With a very compact carabiner body, low weight, small form and Key-
lock gate, the HMS Strike is ideal for alpine climbing. Available with
screw or twistlock gate.
The new EDELRID HMS series’ attractiveness comes from its low weight
and shapely design. The special hot forging technique gives the Ma-
gnum the best stability and strength with minimal weight. The large
design means all belay methods and belay devices can be used easily.
Features include wide gate opening, large radius for the rope and Key-
lock closing system. The Magnum is available with the following gate
closing systems: Screw, Twist or Triple lock.
Small screwgate carabiner with Keylock gate.
Extemely robust indoor set made up of a wire gate stainless steel ca-
rabiner (with optional metal pin to ensure against twisting, sideways
loading or theft), a 10 mm Maillon Rapide quicklink „upper carabiner,”
and joined with either a 12 or 16 cm 26/16 small wide sling.
This HMS carabiner is made of hardened steel and is ideal for top ropes.
Especially useful in outdoor centers, ropes courses, climbing gyms or
for other uses where a regular strain is put on the carabiner.

dard 354.
A compact ball-like swivel of minimal weight and size. Turns reliably
even under heavy loads and prevents the twisting of ropes when the
load is turning on its own axis. Certified according to the EN standard
354.
The ultimate connecting ring for use in safety systems or as a rappelling
ring on belay stations. The Conecto’s design permits easy replacement
of components like energy absorbers or tie-in loops by simply unscre-
wing, changing out the parts, then screwing the ring back up (torque 6
Nm). The Conecto Ring has a breaking strength of 15 kN and is certified
according to the EN Standard 354.
The Elevator ascenders are light, strong and comfortable in the hand
– ideal for caving or big wall use. Like its namesake, this smart tool ma-
kes ascending on the rope (8.0 - 13.0 mm) as easy as taking the elevator.

An ingenious little bolt hanger you take with to place over bolt heads
(up to 10 mm).
A universal solid, multi-featured aluminium device for belaying and
rappelling on all ropes from 7.8 to 10.5 mm. Feeds well when belaying
the leader and can be used to independently bring up to 2 seconds at
the same time when climbing in a team of three. The geometric design
of the Kilo Jul gives you two braking speeds and the small eyelet allows
the unit to be released with a carabiner when bringing up your partner.
The Jul is a beautifully styled single rope belay device with a unique
two-component construction. The body is made of high-quality stainless
steel offering the best possible abrasion resistance with minimal heat
conduction. The synthetic cover prevents the annoying „jingling“ on
the harness and protects your skin from burning after a prolonged be-
lay or rappel session. An ideal belay device for sport and gym climbing
using ropes between 8.9 and 10.5 mm.
Since its introduction in 2005, the Eddy has established a reputation as
a safe and easy to use semi-automatic belay device predominantly for
sport and indoor climbing. The Eddy is simple and safe, easy to thread,
with the rope logically following the rope flow. A controlled descent
with an emergency brake system eliminates the „panic pull“ syndrome
which can lead to serious accidents. The Eddy provides maximum sa-
fety whether top roping or lead climbing with easy paying out of rope
to the leader. Must be used with both hands. For use with single ropes
from 9.0 to 11.0 mm diameters.
The Zap-O-Mat is a semi-automatic belay tool based on the tubestyle
belay device. It is considered semi-automatic as the belayer does not
have to touch the device to pay out rope evenly and quickly. The bra-
king resistance of the Zap-O-Mat can be adjusted for rope size, new or
old ropes, or to climbing style. When the green button is pressed in,
rope can be given out faster. When the button is released, the spring
in the handle is relaxed and the bolt has less resistance, increasing the
braking force. The Zap-O-Mat‘s integrated carabiner arrest increases
the braking power. The Zap-O-Mat is useful when working routes, top
roping or when the climber is heavier than the belayer. The unit doesn’t
have to be removed from the harness to thread the rope, increasing sa-
fety and eliminating the risk of being dropped and lost on long routes.
Useable for all single ropes from 8.9 to 10.5 mm.
A classic redesigned sturdy piece of equipment. No further explanation
required. For universal usage such as rappelling and belaying.
A traditional piece of hardware in a modern and highly functional
design. The open V-form in the neck allows for exact and controlled
braking, and the synthetic insert holds the carabiner in place while
belaying, preventing adverse horizontal forces from being transferred
to the spine of the carabiner. At just 56 g, the Terence is one of the
lightest in its class.

We are pleased to announce that we are the first rope company world
wide to successfully certify our ropes under the stringent bluesign®
standards. This Standard Requires that all input streams – from raw
materials, to chemical components, to water and energy resources –
are analyzed with a sophisticated Input Stream Management pro-
cess. Every component is assessed from the yarn through to the
treatment process and receives a rating based on its eco toxicological
impact eliminating potentially harmful substances before produc-
tion even begins. We have worked on this with a lot of enthusiasm
and passion and can say with a good conscience that our ropes are
clean. Further information can be found under www. bluesign.com.
The newest manufacturing technology and a highly elaborate fi-
nishing process are the characteristics of the Pro Line. It unites mi-
nimal weight and diameters with technical advances and superior
handling. This makes the Pro Line your ideal partner for pushing
the limits when every gram counts. Pro Line’s advantage lies in the
new Pro Shield finishing process, one of the newest developments
from EDELRID.
The Dry Line is EDELRID’s ideal all-around rope series. Minimal
weight, high strength and durability are all perfectly balanced. Ro-
pes treated with the Dry Shield finish are resistant to water, dust
and dirt. The Dry Line is the only choice when it comes to choosing
a rope for a multiple of activities.
The Sports Line has become the choice of sport climbing champions.
The double-braid construction creates a particularly tight and
smooth sheath which is very abrasion resistant and the Thermo
Shield treatment provides the famous EDELRID handling characteri-
stics. Those who have tried these ropes once have become perma-
nent, convinced users. Anyone searching for a rope that will be wor-
ked hard, the Sports Line is the right choice.
Proven EDELRID quality and excellent value for money describes the
Entrance Line. The sturdy construction of the Entrance Line makes
this rope range a good companion for those starting to climb in and
outdoors.
With the Pro Shield finish every single core and sheath yarn is cove-
red with a synthetic fluoropolymer coating that is stable and non-
toxic. The microscopic (10-9 m) fluoropolymer particles are bonded
to the yarns by an electro-chemical process forming an impermeable
protective layer. This both reduces the friction between the individu-
al yarns and increases the sliding properties of these yarns, which
substantially improves the rope’s loading properties. This helps the
rope to withstand the external forces (falls) exerted upon it during
climbing. Additionally, the rope is well protected against moist and
dirty conditions.
Dry Shield is a chemical finish for the sheath yarns. The finish is
resistant to washing- out, providing a long lasting oleo and hydro-
phobic coating that keeps water, oily substances and dirt off the fi-
bers. Together with the Thermo Shield treatment, the Dry Shield
optimizes handling, abrasion resistance and performance. This all
helps to improve the lifespan of the rope.
EDELRID’s specially developed sheath construction whereby one
yarn is crossed by two. The result is a very tight, smooth and flexible
sheath structure. This construction method has become synonymous
with a particularly high abrasion resistance typical of ropes with
this sheath.
The Thermo Shield treatment has been in use at EDELRID for more
than 20 years. Thermo Shield is a thermal stabilizing process for the
rope that gives it the famous EDELRID handling characteristics and
feel. The rope undergoes a heat treatment cure to stabilize and har-
monize the individual yarns. This treatment cannot be washed out
and ensures a supple rope throughout its working life.
A new, patented EDELRID process to manufacture bi-colour ropes. The
braiding spools are changed halfway through the braiding process to
create two distinctly different sheath patterns. Each rope length has a
different colour. The DuoTec process ensures permanent marking in
middle of rope and a distinctive design. The differently-patterned rope
halves are easily identifiable – very useful when abseiling, determi-
ning how much rope you have left, or butterfly coiling.
With EDELRID’s Laminate Technology the outer material, the load
bearing fabric and the inner material are all heat sealed together in
a lamination process. This permits a much better load distribution
throughout the materials, making thick foam and mesh padding un-
necessary. The advantages are a weight saving, thin harness that
offers maximum movement and the best possible comfort.
When putting the harness on the webbing side slides into the E-
Turn “tunnel” creating a complete circle of waist band. Even under
load this cannot separate providing better harness stability and in-
creased comfort. An additional advantage is the buckle is easier to
close as you pull across your body and not behind you. The webbing
end can also be neatly tucked away whilst climbing.
With the Slide-Rail-System® you can individually adjust your gear
loops or remove them completely. This could be necessary when, for
example climbing with a back pack, on alpine tours or during competi-
tions. Other useful items can be fitted to the harness using the Slide-
Rail-System®, for example: chalk bag, gear clip etc..
The Triad System is a sewing technique allowing the kettle webbing
of the leg loop to be sewn in such a way that it lies flat on the body.
The Triad Stitching distributes the load forces evenly throughout the
leg loop, resulting in a much better sit and wearing comfort.
Hytrel®-Protector increases harness longevity.

The Radical Last is EDELRID’s high performance last. Acutely asym-
metric with a lot of camber and a strong heel pull, the Radical Last
guarantees a progressive transmission of power from the foot to the
toe box area of the shoe. This in turn provides the perfect pull on
overhangs and a peerless precision on the smallest of edges.
The Performance Last offers maximum precision on small edges.
The asymmetric form and the heel pull create a medium camber,
resulting in a sensitive shoe. The Performance Last is suitable for
wide feet.
EDELRID’s Comfort Last offers the most comfortable fit possible
with a minimum of asymmetry and no camber. This is a shoe last
design where comfort is put before precision.
E-Grip: Edelrid’s robust and sturdy rubber sole that has been opti-
mized to provide durability. Formulated for comfortable design clim-
bing shoes.
2-Tension-Heel: A revolutionary heel construction applying two rub-
ber straps, each with a different level of tension. Tension is thereby
applied to the whole heel and not (as with conventional shoes) just on
the Achilles tendon. The result is an unbeatable power transmission to
the toe box and a heel fit that helps to stick the most difficult hooks.
High-Tension-Heel: A full rubber heel cup construction that is ideal
for the needs of today’s boulderers. The anatomically formed heel
cup provides a superior fit and the green EDELRID tension strap
builds a perfect and long-lasting camber, while at the same time pre-
venting the shoe from coming off when heel hooking.
Comfort-Tension-Heel: A full rubber heel cup with a moderate tensi-
on strap offering optimal protection and a snug fit to the heel.
Vibram® XS-Grip Sole: Developed in 2006, this rubber compound
offers a level of adhesion that is 30% better than previous Vibram®
soles. XS-Grip rubber guarantees stable and excellent performance
whether smearing on the smallest of edges in hot summers, or clim-
bing during cold winters.
