Established in 2007, the Fort Bend County Medical Reserve Corps is a volunteer organization striving to connect underserved communities in Fort Bend County with the public health services they need, as well as improve the public health infrastructure. Sponsored by the county’s department of Health and Human Services, the organization has almost 3,000 volunteer members, including physicians, mental health professionals, and veterinarians, among others.

resources and assistance from the national Medical Reserve Corps network.

The Fort Bend County Medical Reserve Corps hopes to reach a goal of having at least 1 percent of the Fort Bend population ‐‐ about 5,600 people ‐‐ as volunteers. Due to the wide range of opportunities, no medical training is required to volunteer with the organization.
