#BEMONUMENTAL

INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIESCNO FINANCIAL INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MARATHON

THURSDAY AND FRIDAYSET-UP: MONUMENTAL HEALTH AND FITNESS EXPO AND PACKET PICK-UPWork behind the scenes of the Monumental Health and Fitness Expo as the Packet Pick-up comes together for our race participants. Duties include preparing shirts, participant goodie bags, and race packets. This work will help to ensure Packet Pick-up goes smoothly for everyone! Some lifting may be required.

ASK ME & DIRECTIONAL ASSISTANTSAre you a person who always has the answers, or will seek the answer if you don’t know it? Then this is the job for you! Help participants with questions and provide directional assistance during the Monumental Health and Fitness Expo. Inquiring minds want to know and we need you to help us answer them!

MONUMENTAL HEALTH AND FITNESS EXPO AND PACKET PICK-UPBe a part of the anticipation and excitement before the big race! Athletes come to Packet Pick-up to get their race bib numbers and information packets so they are ready for Race Day. Duties include welcoming participants, passing out race packets and shirts, and providing general Indianapolis and key Race Day information.

SATURDAYGEAR CHECK Assist participants by keeping their belongings safe as they enjoy the event. Duties include labeling and organizing participants’ belongings so that they are ready for quick pick up at the end of the race.

PUT ME WHERE YOU NEED MEA volunteer that wants to help and doesn’t care where you are assigned. You may be needed at the Start Line, Finish Line, or somewhere in between!

START LINE ASSISTANTSHelp prepare the starting line for thousands of participants, and then welcome them to the Start Line! Duties include some light set-up of the start line and then assisting participants to get to the proper corral based on their expected pace before the start of the race.

FINISH LINE & RUNNER SERVICESBe the first to see the participants as they come across the finish line and help kick off the Post Race Celebration! You will help guide participants through the Finish Line Area, while distributing post-race food and beverages, heat blankets, hats, medals, and more.

POST RACE CELEBRATION - PUT ME WHERE YOU NEED MEA volunteer that wants to help and doesn’t care what task you are assigned. Help participants, spectators, and the community make the most of the Post Race Celebration. Duties may include distributing and replenishing food, helping to direct traffic, and more.

INDYTHON AWARDS AND RESULTS TENTBe a part of the celebration by awarding INDYTHON medals to applicable finishers and look up the participants’ results using their race bib number and provide them with a printout of their race time.

GROUP VOLUNTEER ROLESCNO FINANCIAL INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MARATHON

FRIDAY NIGHTSET-UP CREWHelp with the setup of the Start and Finish Lines for Saturday’s race! You will help arrange equipment, tables, chairs, and other items. You can’t be afraid to get your hands dirty or help with heavy lifting. Food and beverages will be provided.

SATURDAYFINISH LINE KEEP IT CLEAN CREWAssist with trash removal to help keep the event area and course clean during and after the race and Post Race Celebration.

GREEN TEAMAssist with the removal of all recyclable waste in the event area and on the course during and after the race and Post Race Celebration.

POST RACE CELEBRATION - PUT ME WHERE YOU NEED MEA volunteer that wants to help and doesn’t care what task you are assigned. Help participants, spectators, and the community make the most of the Post Race Celebration. Duties may include distributing and replenishing food, helping to direct traffic, and more.

TEAR DOWN CREWA behind-the-scenes role that helps to successfully wrap up the CNO Financial Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. Provide an extra set of hands as the Finish Line is dismantled and the Finish Area is returned back to its original condition. You can’t be afraid to get your hands dirty or help with heavy lifting.

ON-COURSE GROUP VOLUNTEER ROLESCNO FINANCIAL INDIANAPOLIS MONUMENTAL MARATHON

SATURDAYWATER STATIONSProvide water and, more importantly, support to the participants as they make their way along the course. Duties include setting up and managing your assigned station: arrange tables and cups, replenish water and other nourishment as available, pick up and properly dispose of empty cups, and encourage and cheer on participants.

COURSE MARSHALSHelp to ensure that participants safely stay on course and encourage them along the way. Duties include having a proper understanding of the course and ensuring safety. Help participants by directing them at critical turn points. You will be transported by bus to and from your position. Refreshments will be provided.

ENTERTAINERSWe’re looking for individuals or groups of musicians, roving performers, and more who have a proven track record of engaging, interactive public performances. Each group chosen to participate will be designated a performance area along our 26.2-mile course. Bands, specialty acts, singers, actors, kazoo players, drum lines, choirs, cheer squads, belly dancers, clowns, etc… Sign up today!!!

CHEER STATIONSSpectator support is an important element of the race experience for our participants. We welcome unique cheer station ideas for groups of all sizes. Art cars and other types of eye-catching cheer zones are ideal! You will be able to “brand” your cheer station - within reason.
