It All Started With One Child...• When your child is sick, nothing else (should)

matter• In 1974, Fred Hill of the Philadelphia Eagles

had a sick daughter, Kim, in the hospital and experienced the hardships of ‘living in a hospital’ (sleeping on the floor, eating out of vending machines, etc.)• Together, a family in need (Fred Hill,) a friend,

a doctor, McDonald’s and a supportive community made the dream a reality when it created the very first Ronald McDonald House.

“At the time I didn’t enjoy being sick. But I’m glad I did get sick, because through my suffering, a great thing has come from it.”

-Kim Hill, 1983
