Even during my time as senior pastor in Russellville I have been highly involved with their student ministries. In many ways we view this return to student ministries as an answer to prayers. When I was about to begin my seminary career I knew that God had called me toward becoming an ordained elder in our church but was troubled because I could not see how that calling was going to fit with my love for students and student ministry. I can clearly remember praying for clarity how the calling and the passions that God had given me fit together. Now, years later, God has answered our prayers; I am on my way to becoming a fully ordained elder and I have been the given the amazing opportunity to work with students both here at Christ UMC and as the campus pastor/director of the Wesley Foundation at WKU. God is indeed faithful and patient. My entire family is excited to be with you all and look forward to learning about and growing in our love for you and your families in the months and years ahead. Transform the Community of Bowling Green

From the Associate Pastor’s Desk As I look at the life of our church and the life of my family I

realize that we have all been through a whirlwind of a

transition. For us that has meant preaching my last sermon in

the two churches I was serving one day and leaving with the

Christ UMC Youth Ministry for camp the very next day. For

you all that has meant letting go of one beloved family to the

calling of God and gaining a new family (hopefully soon to

be beloved) on the same Sunday. As we navigate these transi-

tions together, I thought it might be nice to give you a word

of introduction about myself.

First, I want you to know my family. I have been married to

my beautiful and thoughtful wife Emily for 11 years this Ju-

ly. We have two children: Jonas who is seven and Willow

who is five.

Let me tell you about two things that I love; I love the outdoors and I love student

ministry. I am an avid outdoorsman; I love hiking, camping, running, biking,

hunting, fishing, canoeing, basically anything that allows me to be outside in God’s

creation.

As much as I love nature I have an even deeper love of student ministry. Emily and

I took our first student ministry position 12 years ago at Greenhill UMC in Alvaton

and we have been engaged in student ministry in one form or another ever since.

Even during my time as senior pastor in Russellville I have been highly involved

with their student ministries. In many ways we view this return to student

ministries as an answer to prayers. When I was about to begin my seminary career I

knew that God had called me toward becoming an ordained elder in our church but

was troubled because I could not see how that calling was going to fit with my love

for students and student ministry. I can clearly remember praying for clarity how

the calling and the passions that God had given me fit together. Now, years later,

God has answered our prayers; I am on my way to becoming a fully ordained elder

and I have been the given the amazing opportunity to work with students both here

at Christ UMC and as the campus pastor/director of the Wesley Foundation at

WKU. God is indeed faithful and patient.

My entire family is excited to be with you all and look forward to learning about

and growing in our love for you and your families in the months and years ahead.

Dear Christ Church

It has been an honor and a joy to serve with Christ

Church these past 6 years. We have gained lifelong

friendships and shared so many wonderful memories.

God has done so much. You have all made an impact

on our lives and in the lives of our children. We will

miss everyone dearly.

Thank you for the wonderful reception following the

Sunday School hour and the beautiful time of worship,

prayer, memories and blessing during the 11 o'clock

service. We were touched by the outpouring of love

that morning and later that evening as well from our

student ministry. Even now we are thanking God for

each of you and missing you already.

We look forward to all God has in-store in this next

chapter for both Christ Church and our family as we

move to Gainesville, Florida to join the work God is

doing at Grace Church. It is with great confidence in

the love and faithfulness of our good Father that we

follow his ever present and guiding Spirit looking back

with thankful hearts for all that He has done and look-

ing ahead to all He has yet to do. Thank you for shar-

ing the journey with us, we love you Christ Church!

May God bless you and keep you and may His face to

shine upon you.
