Calendar:
May 10-17, 2020
This Sunday will be the Fifth
Sunday of Easter. We continue
our celebration of the glorious
news of the Resurrection of our
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! The
Easter season continues until the
Day of Pentecost which will be
celebrated on May 31. We also
celebrate Mother’s Day today as
well as Moravian Music Sunday,
and we express our joy and grati-
tude for our wonderful heritage of
Moravian music!
The Calvary Band Trio will
begin our worship with the pre-
service prelude (thank you, mem-
bers of the Trio!). For the organ
prelude, Mary Louise Kapp
Peeples will play “Her Children
Rise Up and Call Her Blessed,”
composed by Winston-Salem mu-
sician and composer Margaret
Vardell Sandresky (b. 1921).
For the opening hymn, we will
sing the familiar Moravian hymn,
“Christian Hearts, in Love
United.” Pastor Lane will lead us
as we pray together a liturgy writ-
ten for Mother’s Day.

The Calvary Band Trio will also pro-

week. Our Scripture lessons will include
the epistle of 2nd Peter (2:2-10), and the
Gospel lesson will be from the 14th chap-
ter of the Book of John (1-14).
Mrs. Amanda Schumpert will share
the message with the children. Pastor
Chaz Snider will bring us the sermon for
this Fifth Sunday in the Easter season,
“Living Stones.”
For the postlude, Mary Louise will
play a piece composed by her husband,
Wade Peeples: “Fantasy on ‘Sing Halle-
lujah, Praise the Lord.’” This triumphant
piece was composed for the 250th Anni-
versary of Bethania Moravian Church in
2009. You will not want to miss hearing
this piece!
