you’ll also read about Jesus’ les-son of the unique power of for-giveness. By forgiving His tor-mentors, The Son of God taughtus how to live and work in accor-dance with God’s teaching. Thus, if we forgive those whomight have treated us badly, weare changing OUR thoughts andattitudes from the negative feel-ings of anger and resentment, tothe positive forces of love andforgiveness.

Forgiving frees us to get in thehabit of seeing the good in oth-ers, instead of darkening ourhearts with suspicion. The loveand light of Jesus in your heartcan clear away sadness of spiritin all who stand before it!

And of course, this wouldn’tbe Faith Magazine without sto-ries of how our Members gotthrough hard times of their ownby relying on prayer. On Page 6,Lanie E. from Iowa talks about afrightening tornado that poppedup and damaged their home asthey hid in the basement. “Loudtornado alerts started going offas my girls and I rushed into thebasement. We huddled togetherunder a heavy table and prayedas I heard the wind pick up andbegin to roar . . . yes, just as if atrain were coming through myfront room! It lasted for about 10minutes, but seemed like aneternity. Finally, when things gotquiet again, we crept up thestairs from the basement to findthat our beautiful home hadbeen badly damaged. Furniture

was strewn around and part ofthe roof was missing.”Still, Lanie was thrilled that

she and her girls survived with-out injury. “I realized then that the Lord

was looking out for me and mygirls as we sat huddled in thatbasement. I thank God for Hismercy. He saved our lives!” Several Members also wrote

how Fellowship has benefittedtheir lives. Nerissa M. of Trinidad said

on Page 14, “You have touchedmy life in a special way,Fellowship, and it is a miraclethat I am still alive. God hasraised me from my sick bed andI have started to move aroundand walk again.”We hope you enjoy this Faith

Magazine, too, Dear Friend. Please write and let us knowhow you’re doing!

Jesus Teaches Us To Believe In‘The Bread Of Life’ He Provides! The theme of this Faith

Magazine refers to a lessonJesus taught after He had multi-plied several loaves of bread andtwo fishes to feed 5,000 people. As the Bible says in John:

Chapter 6, many people soughtout Jesus after witnessing Hisfeeding of thousands. However, He was concerned

they hadn’t learned the lessonHe was trying to teach. So, Jesusused this new opportunity totalk about the Word of God, andhow faith could sustain themjust like the bread He had multi-plied and shared earlier. “Verily, verily, I say unto you,

ye seek Me, not because ye sawthe miracles, but because ye dideat of the loaves, and werefilled,” said Jesus.“Labour not for the meat

which perisheth, but for thatmeat which endureth unto ever-lasting life, which the Son ofman shall give unto you: for Himhath God the Father sealed.”Then, the people responded to

Jesus, asking what they shoulddo to carry on the work of God.They also asked Him for a signproving He was the Son of God.Jesus answered, “Verily, veri-

ly, I say unto you . . . My Fathergiveth you the true bread fromheaven.“For the bread of God is He

which cometh down from heav-en, and giveth life unto theWorld . . .

“I am the bread of life: he thatcometh to Me shall neverhunger; and he that believeth onMe shall never thirst . . .“All that the Father giveth Me

shall come to Me; and him thatcometh to Me I will in no wisecast out.“For I came down from

Heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me. “And this is the will of Him

that sent Me, that every onewhich seeth the Son, andbelieveth on Him, may haveeverlasting life: and I will raisehim up at the last day.”So, Dear Member, the Bread of

Life nourishes all of us whobelieve in God the Father, andHis Son, Jesus. We can be surewe are living and doing as theLord wants us too, when we par-take in the Bread of Life Jesusspoke about long ago.

My Fellowship Friends, I’veread all those inspiring storiesIn Faith Magazine about ourFellow Members overcomingobstacles in their lives. But Inever expected to be writing oneof my own! Yet, that’s where Ifind myself today, and withGod’s grace I came out OK. I live in the Midwest, and it’s

not unusual for us to get severeweather. A few years ago, sum-mer had arrived and I was look-ing forward to a good year. I hadleft an abusive relationship ofmany years and had gotten backon my feet with a good job and anice place to stay. My two daugh-ters had settled in well at theirschool, too. Life was good!I remember it was a bright

summer day, hotter than usual. When I was driving to pick upmy children from soccer prac-tice I noticed how dark the skywas in the distance. I told mydaughters to hurry up becausewe wanted to get home beforethe storm hit the area. When wereached our house I breathed alittle sign of relief, thinking wewould be safe inside our sturdyhome. But, my confidence turned out

to be misplaced. When I turnedon my TV again to see where thestorms were, I saw we wereunder a tornado warning! Itseems the dark clouds hadspawned a big funnel cloud thatwas headed our way!

Loud tornado alerts startedgoing off as my girls and Irushed into the basement. Wehuddled together under a heavytable and prayed as I heard thewind pick up and begin to roar. . . yes, just as if a train werecoming through my front room!It lasted for about 10 minutes, but seemed like an eternity. Finally, when things got quietagain, we crept up the stairsfrom the basement to find thatour beautiful home had beenbadly damaged. Furniture wasstrewn around and part of theroof was missing. My daughters and I cried, as

much out of relief that we werespared, as for what we had lost. Our church was wonderful. Itsmembers stepped in to provideus a place to stay until our homecould be repaired. I realizedthen that the Lord was lookingout for me and my girls as we sathuddled in that basement. Ithank God for His mercy. Hesaved our lives!

Some Members have inquiredabout how they might make abequest to Life-Study Fellowship.Through the years, many

Members have chosen to remem-ber our Fellowship in this spe-cial way and we are truly grate-ful. Some Members have includ-ed Fellowship in their wills, while others have named Life-Study Fellowship in their lifeinsurance policies. If you are interested in making

arrangements through your will,we suggest you talk with anattorney who can explain the taxadvantages and ways to go aboutmaking such a bequest.

Please remember that it is toeverybody’s advantage to have awill. This doesn’t apply just tothe very wealthy. The truth iseveryone who owns any propertyneeds a will to direct who shouldbenefit. Otherwise, some or all of your

property will be split up accord-ing to state law, which may leaveyour property in ways you didnot want or intend. Therefore, whether or not you

include a bequest to Life-StudyFellowship, we encourage you toseek the services of an attorneyto have a will drawn up if youhave not already done so.

My Dear Fellow Members, Iam feeling somewhat better. Ihave been reading FaithMagazine all month and it hasbeen so wonderful for me. I am always in touch with God

and have felt His Presence morein this year than ever before. Itis because I am able to under-stand how to better pray forGuidance. The Lord is showingme love more, and plainer thanever before, too. I think the difference is due to

the personal prayers that youmailed to me, and to my readingof your Faith Magazine. I doappreciate my Fellow Membersso much and I thank them forpraying with and for me. I also feel so much better, but

I pray for more strength in mybody and mind. I had a terriblecold and cough, but I feel certainGod, the love of my FellowshipFriends and my own prayershelped pull me through. I amalmost completely healed now.I thank God all the time, and

my Fellow Members. I willalways be in touch withFellowship, and will try to sendwhatever I can to help you con-tinue to mail Faith Magazine outto everyone in Fellowship . . . aswell as anyone else who is inter-ested in its positive message. I always tell my friends about

FAITH. Some of them alreadyknow how wonderful it is, and I

try to introduce it to those whodon’t know. I always take a close look at

the pictures in FAITH. You takeor make the nicest pictures! They take away all sad feelings, and in fact, everything I see andread in Faith Magazine is won-derful. We have to love one another

and care for each other, and Itruly am doing that. All my lovegoes out to you and the wonder-ful work you are doing! I believeGod is very pleased with you andI thank you so much for whatyou have done for me, throughmy prayers. Let us keep doing what we

can for ourselves and thankingGod. Love to you all!

Dear Friends, almost everyonehas experienced what it’s like tobe the victim of ugly gossip ortall tales at one time or another. . . whether in school, the work-place or other places. It makesyou mad, doesn’t it, when peoplesay mean things about you orsomeone you care about! One ofour Members who wrote to usabout this was furious over thecomments someone made to her, calling them “unforgiveable!”

It’s understandable how thatMember felt, because a situationlike this is always upsetting.Still, let’s step back a momentand remember how Jesus han-dled just that kind of problem.

For example, He knew Judaswould betray Him long beforethe actual event occurred. Yet,Jesus didn’t cast out Judas fromthe group of Disciples. Yes, evenas Jesus was being crucified, theBible passage of Luke 23:34 tellsus that He said, “Father, forgivethem; for they know not whatthey do.”With the Lord setting such an

example, shouldn’t we do thesame, Dear Member?

So, if you hear someone mak-ing unkind comments about youor someone you know, it’s fine tocorrect them. But instead of get-ting mad and declaring that per-son to be no good, or even sayingbad things about them, think

about the example Jesus set forus.

We like to think of it asFellowship’s Rule ofForgiveness, too. Here’s how itworks . . . When you show loveand forgiveness to someone whohas wronged you, even if it does-n’t heal the person who commit-ted that deed, you will find it hashealed you! By forgiving His tor-mentors, Jesus taught us how tolive and work in accordancewith God’s teachings by forgiv-ing those who treat us badly. Indoing so, we are changing OURthoughts and attitudes from thenegative feelings of anger andresentment, to the positiveforces of love and forgiveness.

We will get in the habit of see-ing the good in others, insteadof darkening our hearts withsuspicion. The love and light ofJesus in your heart will clearaway darkness of spirit in allwho stand before it!

The Love And Light Of JesusClears Away Darkness!

Dear Fellowship,

From last year to now, thingshaven’t been going too well withme. It started with me losing myjob early in the year, however, Imanaged to get by.

Then, in November that year Ifell ill, and the doctors said itwas something that could not becured. I was bed-ridden for sometime, unable to move or do any-thing for myself. I went throughso much pain and suffering, andthe drugs I was given seemed tohave no effect on me. They justweren’t helping. I was at a lowpoint in my life, and wondered ifthis was how it would be for me

for the forseeable future. I didn’tsee how I could go on in thatstate.

But then, you came into mylife! Fellowship gave me hopeand the courage to have faithand believe that anything is pos-sible with God’s help. It was anuplifting experience that trulyopened my eyes.

Yes, I have been blessed since Iwas introduced to Life-StudyFellowship, and you have servedme well with your copies ofFaith Magazine. When I was ill,all I had to hold onto wasFellowship Three Daily Prayersand Daily Bible Verses. Put God In The“Pilot’s Seat” Of Your Life!

Dear Member, can you imag-ine an aircraft pilot taking offfrom the runway and climbinginto the clouds ... then getting onthe intercom and asking the pas-sengers, “Where should we gotoday?”Well, of course not.

But you might be surprised tolearn that’s how many folks hap-hazardly start each day. They getup in the morning and just movethrough their daily routineswith no guidance or thought towhat may lay ahead.

The trouble with doing that is,if you don’t know where youwant to go, it’s doubtful you’llever get there. If you want to bea happy, healthy, prosperous per-son, you’ll need someone toguide your steps along life’sjourney.

That someone is God.

And that leads into the mean-ing of our Fellowship way oflife. We Members know wherewe are going, how to get there,

and who is the “Control Tower”guiding our journey!

We begin the day with ourFellowship Morning Prayer forthe Lord’s Guidance. In a way,we’re asking for our “flightinstructions” to start the day.

Then, we say our Noon Prayerfor Prosperity. That is to makesure we have enough to providefor ourselves and our loved ones.

In the evening we pray to Godfor Health and Healing, askingHim to keep us safe and grantthe blessing of restful slumber.

Now, seeking God’s guidanceas a life coach doesn’t mean wewon’t encounter stormy weatheror other challenges throughoutour lives. No, Dear Friend, things will happen that weweren’t expecting!

But putting God in the pilot’sseat of your life means He willhelp you make a smooth land-ing. The Lord will always workwith you to solve problems andmake your “flight” a good one.

There’s no telling who might stopby your home during summervacation. Here are some hintsand tips to keep things tidy andlooking their best. We invite youto try them out, Dear Member! And, if you have some trustygo-to tips of your own, pleaseshare them with us!

* * *

REPAIR SCRATCHESTo repair scratches on surface ofwood furniture, try filling themin with an appropriate shade ofcolored pencil.

* * *

GET RID OF SCUFF MARKS

To remove stubborn dirt or scuffmarks on walls, furniture, shoes, etc. . . . try Mr. Clean MagicEraser. It cleans up woodworkand shines shoes like new.

* * *NO MORE BLEACH SMELL

To remove bleach smell fromhands (and that slimy feeling)pour a little vinegar or lemonjuice over your hands then rinse.(Bleach is alkaline, vinegar andlemon are acidic, so they canceleach other out).

* * *RECYCLE PLASTIC GROCERY BAGS

Here’s a tip to use up those plas-tic grocery bags that we all accu-

mulate. You can attach those 3MCommand utility hooks (the kindthat release from any surface justby pulling the tab) onto the sidesof your kitchen garbage bin - thekind that attaches to the insideof a cabinet door. Put theCommand hooks -- one on eachside -- a few inches below the rimand upside down. Instead of buy-ing expensive garbage bags youcan now hang a pair of plasticgrocery bags from the hooks andtuck the edges neatly round thetop of the bin. They won’t sinkinto the bin as they fill up, andwhen the bin needs emptyingjust unhook the bag and tie thehandles together to discard it.It’s a great way to use up grocerybags instead of throwing themaway.

* * *

CLEAN STAINLESS STEELThose shiny, stainless steel appli-ances are magnets for finger-prints and smudges. To cleanthem you can try the same trickused by the folks at the Searsstore . . . They put a little baby oilon a cloth or napkin and wipe thefingerprints away. It also worksto remove sticky residue fromprice stickers or tape.

* * *BROKEN GLASS

Use a piece of bread to pick upfragments of broken glass andbe sure none are left on the floor.

Feeling Down? Then Try APhysical And Spiritual Cleanup!Do you ever feel discouraged

and “down,” Dear Member? Doyou find yourself complainingabout all the unwanted thingsthat happened to you in a day, orweek? Well, one of our Members

wrote us about a terrific tip tomake that feeling go away. Shesaid when she starts feelingdown, she starts what she callsher “clean-up time.” Instead of sitting in a chair,

stewing over unpleasant thingsthat happened, she cleans outher closets of clothes she hasn’tworn in a while and gets themready to donate. Then, she tellsus she begins cleaning herkitchen and works her way overto the bathroom, and finally

other rooms in her house. This Member says when she

cleans and gets rid of stuff shedoesn’t need, she simply feelsbetter, and very often, some-thing nice will happen to her!We think that’s because when

she is physically cleaning herhome, she’s also mentally clean-ing her spirit. Think about howliberating it feels to throw out ordonate items you no longerneed. It promotes a feeling ofaccomplishment and clears outclutter at the same time. As ourMember cleans and gets rid ofstuff that is no longer useful toher, she also has the opportunityto clear those things from hermind, making space for thingsthat really matter. Now, you don’t have to physical-

ly clean house to do a spiritualcleaning, Dear Friend. No, youcan decide to spend more time inprayer with the Lord. Or, youmight resolve to take part eachday in Fellowship’s Three DailyPrayers. These are things that could

give you the spiritual “tune-up”you’ve been looking for, and theydon’t cost a thing. We know for afact you’ll feel better about your-self, just as our Member whophysically cleaned her housewhen she felt down. The idea is the same . . . to dis-

card what you don’t want orneed . . . and spend more timebeing inspired by the Lord.

Let me begin this letter bythanking God and each of myFellow Members who pray forme and with me duringFellowship’s Daily Prayers.Through those prayers, the Lordhas given me hope and love. Hehas given me faith and trust tobelieve in Him. And, He hasgiven me confidence withinmyself, teaching me to acceptwhatever might come my way, knowing that I may forever turnto Him for the help I need. I did not feel this way at all just

a short time ago! I was terriblydepressed and had no idea that anew life was about to begin forme! The problem I was facing was

one that many women unfortu-nately encounter . . . my hus-band suddenly left me. I foundmyself lost in a World of loneli-ness and confusion. The chil-dren and I managed as best wecould, and I tried to think ofsome relative or friend to helpus, but there was no one. We lin-gered on, and there weremoments when I thought aboutasking God to help us. But, I didn’tknow what to say. You may findthis odd, Fellow Members, but Ijust didn’t know how to pray!Yes, you read that right.

Then, guided in some won-drous way, my eyes fell upon alittle announcement in the local

newspaper. It was a notice aboutLife-Study Fellowship. I read itseveral times. The thought ofothers helping me throughprayer filled my mind with a rayof hope, so I decided to join ourFellowship. That was the beginning of a

new life for me! I feel I have real-ly and truly been helped. Now, Iknow how to pray, and I havefound the peace and wisdom Iwas seeking before. God liftedmy burdens. He comforted meand gave me the power to over-come my problems. The bestthing is, He can do the samething for you, Dear Member! That’s right, no matter who youare, you can get God’s help atany time or anywhere. Just openyour heart and ask Him to help.He will answer!

SUMMER SUNS ARE GLOWING!

Summer suns are glowingover land and sea;happy light is flowingbountiful and free.Everything rejoicesin the mellow rays;all Earth's thousand voicesswell the psalm of praise.

See God's mercy streamingover all the World, and His banner gleamingeverywhere unfurled.Broad and deep and gloriousas the Heaven above, shines in might victoriousHis eternal love.

Lord, upon our blindnessYour pure radiance pour;for Your loving-kindnessmake us love You more. And, when clouds are driftingdark across the sky, then, the veil uplifting,Father, still be nigh.

We will never doubt You,though You veil Your light;life is dark without You,death with You is bright.Light of light, shine o'er uson our pilgrim way;still go on before usto the endless day.

We enjoy getting many lettersfrom our Members, and not longago one of our FellowshipFriends related a story with spe-cial meaning to us. We’d like toshare it with you, too, DearFriend. It involved a chance meeting

of two people on the steps of aconvention center. An older manwas coming up the stairs lean-ing on a cane, just as a youngerman was bounding down thesteps. As they met, the elderly gen-

tleman asked if the center waswhere they were having areunion. The younger man answered

that yes, it was, and he told thesenior citizen in what room hewould find the reunion. Then, helooked at the old man, who wasprobably in his 80s or even 90s,and asked if needed help gettingup the rest of the stairs. The older man answered that

it was kind of the younger guyto ask, but he was just fine! Headded “I got my cane and myLord, and when I lean on them Ican go anywhere and do any-thing.” And with that, the older man

walked up the stairs and went onhis way. But, he left a seed ofthought with his younger coun-terpart. You see, we all may not need a

cane at this stage of life, but weall sure do need to lean on the

Lord at one time or another.Through faith, God gives us thecourage and inner strength topersevere through life’s chal-lenges, and to know we can goanywhere and do anything! The older gentleman had

gained that knowledge over alifetime of facing whatever goodthings or obstacles came hisway. It’s a life lesson that bene-fits everyone, Dear Member, andone that is easier to learn earlyon so we don’t have to strugglelater in life. So, how do you learn to “lean

on the Lord” for the supportonly He can offer? Why, throughprayer, of course. It is yourdirect line of communicationwith God, a private channel thatis always open for your use.

Prayer Is Your Private Line Of Communication With God!
