iReady Finally ReadyBy: Josie Steppe

Have you experienced any hiccups in iReady yet? I’m am sure you have, but no worries because iReady is finally ready. There used to be many problems, such as troubles with loading, and errors while doing the activities. However, we have fixed the problems. Now, there is a new application called TEST iReady. TEST iReady is the same exact thing as iReady but it loads better and has less errors than the iReady we used before. TEST iReady might have some hiccups but I promise it won’t have as much as the old one did. So, you should be able to learn much better. Also, here is a tip, if you have to type on iReady remember to click on the box your answer should be in before you start typing. If you don’t do this your answer may not appear in the box and you could get the question wrong. Well, I hope iReady works with you so you can learn without those annoying hiccups.

Our Library Goes Electronic by : Chelsea McIntosh

If you have a mobile device or computer this is the article for you! Well there is a big change in the books at the library . That change is there on your computer .The library now has e-books . Its kind of like a library on your phone , but this is only for the 3rd-5th graders . you can either do it on your computer or tablet-reader , phone, or I-pod ,then you download the app or go to the website , then you start checking out the books. If you don’t have a mobile device don’t sweat it because like I said this is also available on the computer . And some people don’t have a computer , but its ok this is only one way to check out books you can still go to the library . When you get to the home page it looks

kind of like a library only on a couple pages . Then you will see a page full of books right under them will be a description of the book. Right next to the book will be a checkout / hold button and a reading list button . That button adds the book to your reading list in the top bar. If you have any more questions you can go to the Moyer webpage to the library page or the Follett shelf website or go to the library. I hope you get to checkout an e-book . Love is in the AIR!!

4th Grade Valentines day Poll What do You Want For Valentines Day

by Emma CooperDid you hear that Valentines Day is coming up? I did, so I asked everyone in the grade what they wanted. The options were chocolates or candy, a Valentines Day card, a stuffed animal, or any other thing that they wanted for Valentines Day. Here were the results, 48 people wanted chocolates or candy, 2 people wanted a card, 45 people wanted a stuffed animal, and last 5 people wanted something else. So the most people in the 4th grade wanted chocolates or candy. That’s what I picked. I thought that stuffed animal was going to win but it didn’t, but it was a close call. 3 votes decided the winner. The winner is chocolates or candy. What would you like to get?

Happy Valentines

Valentine’s Day Boxes’

By: Callie RothValentine’s Day, oh what a day were pink

and red match, or to enjoy love. Also, to especially make a “lovely” Valentine’s Day Box to hold all your goodies people

give you. Indeed, I do believe that this is the best part of Valentines Day at school. But what happens if you get “stuck”, or don’t have an idea for a Valentine’s Day

Box. Well, I would enjoy to help you. Remember, it doesn’t have to be perfect,

just a masterpiece that’s awesome to you. It could be about your favorite things, or maybe your hobbies. What about those

sport fans out there, and the people who love animals. It could be also be about fantasy, maybe even your friends and

family. This project should be enjoyable

and fun, trust me you’ll love it! ;)

Dream Partyby Macie Jeffers and Chelsea McIntosh

Whether you go to the extreme or keep a Valentine’s Day party simple, or both the party can be your dream. Like a pool full off chocolate or making sugar cookies , or you can keep it simpler like a small box of chocolate for each guest , or a chocolate fountain for strawberries ,or stuff your face with chocolate , or go to the movies, or you can eat a few treats and watch a movie where you are. You could make s’mores over a fire, or eat a box of chocolate with marshmallows in them. That’s some ideas for a dream party, what’s your dream?

Party’s Stuff Your Face With Chocolateby: Macie Jeffers and Chelsea McIntosh

I hope that your teacher has planned a party for valentines day . These are some things that have happened in the past valentines day party’s at Moyer like making sugar cookies an making different crafts and I remember having root beer floats in second grade and in third grade I remember trying to see who was the fastest team at unwrapping a Hershey kiss with mittens on. In third grade we had to put Oreos on our nose and get it into our mouths. Some upcoming activities for valentines day are root beer floats but with vanilla ice cream and big red ( cupid float ). And of course there will be lots of food Oreos , cookies, cupcakes , etc. And weather its before or during there’s a valentine exchange . I hope you have a good valentines day party.

Groundhog Day by James Beasey

Six more cold weeks of winter! Phil the groundhog saw his shadow. He came out of his burrow at 7:25 a.m at Gobbler’s Knob in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania with the help of his handlers John Griffiths and Ron Ploucha. If Phil didn’t see his shadow then it would of been Spring. Phil has been doing this every February 2nd since 1887! Be strong through these six weeks. A cool fact about groundhogs is that it is also known as a woodchuck, whistle-pig and a land beaver. They also live in woodlands. Phil’s full name is Punxsutawney (pux-it-aw-nee)Phil.

Harbin Ice Festival by Livia Cullen

In Harbin China there is an ice festival with the world’s largest ice sculptures. Most ice sculptures are famous buildings such as the Eiffel tower, the Colosseum, the leaning tower

Pisa, and much more. There is tons of fun. I estimate 100 sculptures. Mrs. Daly is my great science teacher inspired to write this article, this article is dictated to Mrs. Daly. The Chinese tradition was an example from the Russians. Well that all you need to know about the Harbin Ice Festival.

Chitaqua SpeakerBy: Katie Buschle

Most of the years at Moyer we have had Chitaqua speakers. This year we had one, too. Chitaqua speakers come in most years at about the same time that the fourth graders have the wax museum. They are supposed to be an example for a wax museum speech, Just longer. This year we had a person that was acting to be Johnny Green. He was a man who went to war for Kentucky. He told us about how back in the day everything wasn’t how it is today. They had two different types of water, but both of them were bad types. There was a soapy one, and a dirty, muddy one. Everybody that went with him, including him, didn’t know that they were signing up for 3 years of war. He said that, as his character, the worst part about the war was that he saw some of his friends that were right next to him die. He told us about some of the parts of war where he was so close to dying but, that god was in his favor. He did really good job presenting to us and definitely helped a lot of people!

COSI By: Honor Valentine

So, as you may know, every year we do COSI. COSI is a science building in Co-lumbus. Every year some employees from there come to Moyer to help us under-stand areas of science. This year, that area is Current Conditions. They talked about weather, and how it affects Earth. Also, they talked about some technology meteo-rologists use today. I will talk about when they came here, and I went there, so also about how the real place is like. First, I want to tell you what COSI stands for. COSI stands for Center Of Science and Industry. So, when I went to COSI in Columbus, there was a giant clock. It was round, but instead of numbers, there were marbles. And, instead of 3 hands, there was 1 giant, swinging ball. It hit a couple of the mar-bles an hour. The clock proves that the earth rotates. Also, there is a bike on a rope in the air, and the thing that is balancing you is 250 pound weight. All you have to do is pedal. In COSI, there’s basically a bunch of fun science experiences everywhere. There was one that prove you also taste with your nose. I held my nose and chewed on a gummy, and then let go of my nose and there was a totally different taste. It was really cool. Well, I hope you get to go!

Russell Wilson was shocked when Matthews caught a ball that bounced of a New England and he didn’t know what to do when he caught it , he was in shock that he even caught the ball. At the end of the game Tom Brady was in shock after the game. Tom Brady beat Joe Montana record by 3 touchdowns.” Touchdown “ Seattle.

Back to the Future 2By Emma Cooper

We’re going to the future!!! Wait were already there. Well not really ,just according to the movie Back To The Future 2. Back To The Future 2 was a movie made in 1985, well obviously they go to the future but the year they go to is 2015!!! When they go to the future there is hover boards, flying cars and the hologram!!! Well you might be thinking that sense it’s 2015 we should have all of those things. We have made the hover board, and Tony Hawk has actually rode on it, it’s really cool. they have been working on the flying cars and the hologram for over 30 years, but we’re still working on them. Scientists you better finish those flying cars soon you only have 365 days to go. The clock is ticking, tick tock tick tock. Well scientists did make the cell phone and a laptop and so many other things I’ll give them some time on the flying cars and the hologram. I know it hasn’t been that long but I think we need to go back to the past. Actually I think we should stay in the future for now so we can see what is created. We’re going to stay in the future!!!!
