Questions of the Week May 3, 2020 Gospel
We enter life to the full through
Christ.
Question for Children: How is Je-sus your example when others don’t like you?
Question for Youth: Sheep know their shepherd and follow his voice. How hard is it for you to rec-ognize the voice of God in your own life? Who has helped you hear God’s voice?
Question for Adults: In what spe-cific ways is Christ an example which you follow when dealing with others, especially with the ones against whom you hold a grudge or those who dislike you?

Shepherd’s Call
The governor’s stay at home order expired on May 1. He is inviting manufacturing to begin again on May 4 and re-tail on May 12. However, he still stressed the importance of social distancing and avoiding crowds of more than ten. With the crowd limit of ten, the bishops will not resume public Masses until May 30th or later. I intend to schedule infant baptisms with ten people or fewer on Sundays of May. I eagerly await the day the elect of our parishes will receive baptism.
Last Sunday our regional youth group met online via ZOOM to hear about God in the Sinner (in ourselves in spite of our sin), and will meet again this Sunday to hear about and discuss God in the Pain. If you want to drop in, email to our youth ministers, Ben and Randi Hom at [email protected].
This past Friday was the feast day for St. Joseph, the worker. He continues to protect our Hamilton Community dur-ing this time of pandemic; we continue to ask his intercession. It is also instructive that we celebrate him as a car-penter and as a worker. While we need recreation and we need times to worship and times to be with those we love, we are also seeing that we weren’t created to be idle all the time. At this time especially, God bless the nurs-es, EMTs, doctors, and health care personnel.
This week I will again keep regular confession times; however, all confessions will be at St. Joseph. Those times are Tuesday 7-8pm and Saturdays 9-10am and 2:30-3:30pm.
We walk together with God,
During the Shelter in Place St. Joseph and St. Julie churches will be closed. St. Peter will remain open for private prayer from 8am - 10:00pm. Confessions are at St. Joseph on Tuesdays from 7-8pm and on Saturdays at 9-10am and 2:30-3:30pm, or another time by calling 513-773-4419.

PREP
God Bless you all and your families. Please know that you are in our prayers. To help you keep the faith alive while PREP is not in class we ask you to pick up your child’s packet in the back porch of the St. Julie Parish Office. We ask you to do two important things each week: 1.) Have your family pray the Sunday Mass online or on TV. Find information on Masses at our www.stjulie.net home page online. 2.) Cover a chapter in your child’s religion text or use the Pflaum Sunday Gospel Weekly.
Parents can find weekly Pflaum Gospel lessons at the link below and register. Use our PREP account number: 1122663. Here’s the direct link: https://www.pflaumweeklies.com/lesson-downloads/ The lessons are listed in the “What is Pflaum Doing in Response to Covid-19?” section. It’s on the homepage but you have to scroll down once. The lessons are in Spanish and in English.
Please contact Mary Pat Austing [email protected] or Pilar Hernandez [email protected] or leave a message at our voice mailboxes at 863-1040 with any questions. Confirmation Parent Meetings will be in the Fall.
Information about First Communion Practice will be determined at a later date. Please continue to review the Mass and the white First Communion book with your first communicant.
Vacation Bible School will be held at St. Peter in Chains mid July. ____________________________________________________________________________________________
Mount St. Mary's Seminary & School of Theology will offer two online summer courses beginning this May. Strengthen your faith during this difficult time from the comfort of your own home! These courses are offered through distance educa-tion with no in-person meetings.
CL 651 Memory and Psychology (Dr. Bradford Manderfield) May 11 - June 10
In early and medieval philosophy, culminating with St. Augustine, psychology was defined in terms of memory and how to link one's memories, especially painful ones, with Scripture, tradition and the Passion of Christ. This course will utilize an-cient, Patristic and medieval sources to define this psychology of memory within our anthropological tradition and will bor-row from nineteenth century understandings to extend our Catholic resources into the contemporary context.
S 671 Theology of Saint Augustine (Dr. Alan Mostrom) May 12 - June 11
This course examines the theological work of St. Augustine, Bishop of Hippo (354-430), including his early life and conver-sion, the Donatist and Pelagian controversies, his Trinitarian theology and Christology, as well as his writings on sex, mar-riage and political life. The course will be attentive to his Biblical exegesis, use of philosophy and his influence on Catholic theology.
Tuition for each course: $878 for credit (2 hours) / $600 auditors / $350 senior and alumni auditors
To register, e-mail the Registrar at [email protected]. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________
