Our mission is to build a community of faith - connecting with God, growing together,

serving the world, all through Jesus Christ.

This past Sunday was

a wonderful way to

begin the season of

Advent! The joy of singing carols

proclaiming our faith fills our souls.

Both our services participated in the

Hanging of the Green in contempo-

rary and traditional ways. I am

grateful to all who worked so crea-

tively to decorate our sanctuary.

We finished the day with the excite-

ment and energy of Children’s

Night at Christmas! A special word

of appreciation is given Kristie

Stokes, Jana Wolfe and Carol

Moore for their leadership as well

as the volunteers, children and par-

ents who made the Children’s Night

such a gift to our church family.

We want to welcome Cody Albrit-

ton as our new University Minister.

Our church voted 405-2 to call Co-

dy (99.5%) to lead this vital minis-

try! Cody, his wife Christina and

their daughter Kaleigh will begin

serving here in late February or

early March due to the arrival of

their new daughter Whitley. I thank

the committee that brought Cody to

us: Arliss Dickerson, Suzanne Cal-

lahan, Troy Smith, Marina Engel-

brecht , Jennifer Tucker, Mark Pars-

ley and June Williams. Also, we are

grateful for Tim Stewart’s work

with this committee and Cody and

Christina as well. Continue to pray

for the Albrittons as they transition

to our church and community in the

next months.

Our congratulations to Tim Stewart,

on his one year anniversary as our

Minister of Education! Thank you,

Tim, Gretchen, Ben, Sam, Skye and

Nyah. We are blessed by your lives

and service.

See you Sunday,

Bro. Bruce

Prison Fellowship Ministry has provided FBC with names of children in Craighead County who are in need of a special gift from his/her parent who is in a correctional facility. If you would like to participate in this special ministry, you can help in a number of ways. You can “adopt” names, make the contact, shop for the children and deliver to the custodian home. Or, you can volunteer to shop for gifts and return them to the church. You can also make a donation to the church, marking it for ANGEL TREE Prison Ministries. You can help deliver gifts as a group on Saturday, Dec. 15. If you have any questions, contact Paula Miles, 935-8525.

Sunday, Dec. 16, 6:00 p.m.

Bring your friends and family to hear

the Christmas story told through song

and word, with beautiful music by our

Sanctuary Choir accompanied by

orchestra. This is a great opportunity

to share Christ. Make dinner or after

concert desserts a part of your invita-

tion. Help us share the story of Christ

with Jonesboro.

Can You Help? The Care Center needs a few

volunteers. For just a few hours each week you could be a big help. We need someone to work in the clothing room on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The Care Center is open 10-1. Clothing room volunteers hang up donated clothes and assist clients in

finding clothes for their families.

If you can help contact Kathy Holler, 932-1872 or 932-3456.
