Thanks to Steve Yeldell for coordinating our April meeting at the Margarita House and Richard Price for taking notes. As

Richard states below, we had 26 members and guests in attendance. Again, thank

you for your continued attendance and active participation at club meetings and events.

Please welcome new members Ted Knapp,

David Compton, Russell Robertson, George Roland, Joe Shelton and Joe

Coffman. We continue to grow the membership each month and look forward to meeting each of the new members.

Membership now stands at 158.

A special thanks goes to Steve Yeldell for coordination of our work with Goodguys

and their Nashville show last weekend,

May 3-5. Most of us will never know how much effort goes into coordinating an

event this size and how many curve balls get thrown his way last minute. So, job

well done Steve!!

Also, thank you to all of the volunteers that spent many long, sometimes wet and cold hours working the show. If my count

is correct, 54 volunteers were scheduled to work during the weekend. Of which, 15 were TCAT students and 2 were our Mopar

friends Brenda and Robert Allison from the Cullman, AL club.

For those new to the club, the $1500 we

received from Goodguys goes to our scholarship fund at TCAT Smyrna for the automotive program.

May’s meeting will be a cruise and picnic on May 18th. We moved the meeting date up to avoid the holiday weekend. See

Richard’s meeting notes below for more detail on May’s meeting and for April’s meeting topics.

P.S. I still want to hear your thoughts on topics for our “how to” sessions and other ways we can help share information,

skills, tools, etc. with members seeking to restore or maintain their Mopar.

The April meeting was held on the 28th in Mt. Juliet at the Margarita House. The attending members and guests filled their bellies with menu items while telling or listening to exaggerated stories during the “meet and greet” prior to the meeting.

Donny opened the meeting by thanking members, spouses and guests for attending (26 total). Garry Barber, who recently joined the Club and owns a ’69 Road Runner and a ’79 Warlock, attended his first Club meeting. 1. The first item of business was an amendment to

the minutes of the March meeting as reported in column 1 on page 2 of the Newsletter: The possibility of the MCMC supporting the Wellborn Muscle Car Museum by becoming a member of the “American Muscle-Car Presentation Lane”, which would include a tile with the club logo being placed in the museum floor, was discussed and scheduled for member vote at the April meeting. The change was verified by VP, Mike Wilkins.

2. Motion was made to accept the minutes as amended and passed by majority vote.

3. The motion was made to support the Wellborn Museum by purchasing the “Presentation Lane” tile and passed by majority vote.

4. Wayne Hall gave a financial report that the Club is financially sound even though some of our sponsors still have not made their 2019 contribution. He also stated that the membership number has increased by four since the March meeting.

5. Jake Istvanditsch, Jim Peach and a few others were not in attendance because they had not returned from the “Moparfest at the Battleship” in Mobile, Alabama. Early report indicated that about 350 cars were in attendance and a few awards were earned by Club Members. Pam & Gene Lowery passed out flyers for our Club’s 30th Annual Show in September.

6. Steve Yeldell gave an update on work schedule changes for the upcoming “Good-Guys Show” during the first week-end of May. Little did he know at the time of our meeting that many more changes would have to be made during the following week. A summary of the event will be given at the May meeting.

7. Our Club has been invited by the Belcourt Theater’s film programmer in Hillsboro Village to be a part of their Memorial Day showing of “AMERICAN GRAFFITI” on May 27th. A quote from the invitation: “Belcourt would LOVE to have

your club present for the event - even if it's only a

slow cruise around our Theatre...we've talked

about the possibility of marking off spots in our

parking lot for the protection of your precious

muscled babies if perchance anyone wants to stay

for the film. If you're interested, or if you're flat out

not interested, please let me know.” https://youtu.be/Gx7QdFbxr1c.

8. The May meeting will be combined with our first picnic of the year on May 18th. That Saturday will begin with attending the “Cars & Coffee Cruise-In in Franklin”. The group will depart from the Cool Springs Cars and Coffee (633 Frazier Drive, Franklin which is the Carmike Thoroughbred 20 Theater) at 10:00AM. The actual driving time is about 2 hours and we will make one stop along

the way for pictures. We should arrive at Donny and Jo’s place around 12:30PM for food and fellowship followed by our May Club Meeting. For those not going on the cruise, meet and greet will start at noon and we will eat after the cruisers arrive. Jo and Donny will be providing BBQ, baked beans, potato salad, tea and water. Feel free to bring an alternative if you would like something different. Please let Donny know if you plan on attending so they can order the appropriate amount of food. As always, desserts are welcome. {Donny’s cell: 614-286-2648}

9. Louie Yeldell attended the meeting and is doing well after his bout with health issues. His plans included participating in the Good-Guys event, which he did. In fact, he was there working all three days.

10. Donny shared an update on Glenda Raggett. She continues to improve daily and hopes to be able to attend Club activities in the near future. She even sent a video thanking the club members for all the prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery. In return the club replied with a video to Glenda and Ed with a get-well message led by Mike Wilkins and a “Mopar or No Car” shout out from everyone

11. Last item of business was the motion to dismiss, which we did in the Club’s usual orderly fashion.
