PROFESSIONAL SOCIETY – CSI

SEMINAR

An event was conducted on the topic “HOW TO PRESENT

A PAPER” on 05-08-2015. . It was organized by THE

COMPUTER SOCIETY OF INDIA of JEPPIAAR ENGINEERING

COLLEGE. The gathering had CSI members from II year

and III year.

All the students assembled in the SEMINAR hall. The

event was headed by Mr.Anbarasu of IT department.

The aim of this event was to make the students aware on

the importance of presenting a paper and to encourage

them to be professionals. Mr.Anbarasu gave us an

immense explanation on preparing a standard paper for

globally recognized conferences and journals. The event

was a great success. And the students felt it very

valuable.

WORKSHOP

A workshop was conducted on 08-08-2015 Friday on the

topic WEB DESIGNING. It was organized by the

COMPUTER SCOCIETY OF INDIA of JEPPIAAR

ENGINEERING COLLEGE.

The gathering had students from IT and CSE department

II nd, III nd and IV years. The workshop was conducted in

the IT lab. It was headed by Mr.VENKATESH PRABU from

MICROSOFT RESEARCH COMMITTEE.

Initially he gave a deep knowledge on html and its

attributes. He stated the importance on web designing.

He taught about HTML, CSS and how to create a web

page. The students were interested on creating their own

web pages. The hand on session was very helpful.

The students felt the session to be very interesting and

informative. They enjoyed as well as gained knowledge.

The feedback from the students was 100% positive. The

workshop was a grand success.

COMPETETITION

CODE QUEST was conducted on August 18th, 2015 in

CSE and IT lab. This competition aimed to bring up the

students who are interested in the field of coding.

More than 50 teams participated. The team consisted

of 2 members. The competition was divided into 2

rounds.

Top 2 teams from each grades, who got the program

executed was rewarded with certificates and gifts.

COMPETETITION

Poster designing –competition was held on 2/9/2015 for CSI students. Students were asked to design poster and best three were selected and awarded.

WORKSHOP

Two Days National Workshop on Mobile App

Development was held on 05-11-2015 & 06-11-2015.

in association with Computer Society of India.

The Industrial Resource Persons who handled the

sessions were Mr.Shiva Prasath (Senior Devloper),

Mr.Mani (Senior Devloper), Mr.Ranga Prasath

(Manager) from Target Soft System.

Through feedback we found that the two days

National Workshop in association with Computer

Society of India has been very useful and the

Participants got very good knowledge by

understanding the concepts and implementation of

this Mobile App Development Laboratory.



The session was very interactive and useful for the

participants. They gained more knowledge.

ACHEIVEMENTS

*Mr. Joseph Hossana Issac ( 11-15 –batch) admitted

for direct PhD after B.E. in IIT Chennai

*Ms. Kalapriya (13-17- batch) nominated for Republic

day camp – Delhi for 26th Jan 2016.

*Mr. Ravi kumar (13-17- batch) selected as Vice

Captain to represent Tamilnadu during Republic Day

Camp Jan 2016.

* T.KEVIN has won First Prize in TECHNICAL DUMBC

at SRI SAI RAM ENGINEERING COLLEGE on 7.8.15.

* Sri Lakshmi prabha has presented a paper in

RECROCUB’15 held at GANADIPATHY TULSI’S JAIN

ENGG COLLEGE on 12TH SEP 2015.

* DIVYA SHREE has published a paper in ADVANCES

IN INTELLIGENT SYSTEM & COMPUTING’15 on SEP

2015.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

CONTEST

KNACK IT – ONLINE APTITUDE CONTEST was conducted

by IEEE madras section for IEEE STUDENT on 21.06.2015

for Our department IEEE Students.

WORSHOP

CAREER ENHANCEMENT AND CORPORATE BEHAVIOUR

WORSHOP was conducted by IEEE madras section for

IEEE STUDENT on 20.07.2015.

WORSHOP

One day workshop on Oracle Database Administration

and application Development held on 22nd Sep 2015.

Mr. Prakash from Wipro tech, Chennai handled the

session.

The session started with introduction to RDBMS

concept, unix commands and role of oracle DBA. The

participants were given lab session to create database,

to do daily DBA activities. More than 100 students

participated in the workshop. All the participants were

given certificates.

COMPETITION

A Web designing competition was conducted for the CSI

students of CSE and IT students on 12/02/2016. 14

Teams Participated in this competition finally 2 teams

awarded by certification and Prizes.

PAPER PRESENTATION

The CSI student group of our college organized the

paper presentation competition on 17-Feb-2016.

The Event presided over by the judges Mrs. Beulah

David, CSE Dept and Mr.Sathish Kumar, CSE Dept.

30 students got participated and finally 2 teams won

the prize.

SEMINAR

A PHOTSHOP SEMINAR was conducted for the current II

year students of CSE and IT students on 15th Feb 2016.

The event was started by Ms.Rainny (coordinator of

CSE, III year). The speaker Mr.Vamsi Krishnan

(coordinator of IT, IV year) spoke about the tools and

techniques of the photoshop.

The talk was very informative and the session

progressed smoothly.



The students were listened eagerly. The seminar had a

positive effect on the students.

ONLINE EVENT

An online Quiz Competition was conducted for the CSI

students of CSE and IT students on 09.03.2016. This

competition aimed to bring up the students who are

interested in the field of computer.

More than 25 teams participated finally two teams won

the prize.

DEPARTMENT SYMPOSIUM

The National level symposium of the department of

CSE, WIZARC’16 was held on 31st march 2016. The

symposium was inaugurated by honourable chairman

colonel Dr. Jeppiaar M.A.,B.L.,Ph.D., our Director Dr. M.

Regeena Jeppiaar , B.Tech., M.B.A., Ph.D., over 200

students from college participated in the one day

extravaganza.



The various events conducted were paper presentation,

debugging, quiz, dumb –c, surprise event, selfie, gaming,

connexion.

The symposium ended with the felicitation ceremony

presided by principal of our college.

OTHER ACTIVITIES

FACULTY TRAINING PROGRAM

The FTP on network security & analysis was held on

14th -16th June 2016 at CSE lab. Dr. Sudhakar, Assistant

Professor from MIT Chennai was the resource person on

14th June 2016.

He gave a brief talk about network security and handled

full day session on 14th June about cryptography &

network security. The faculties gained more knowledge

and the session was very interactive too. There were

more than 30 participants from various colleges.

Mr. Raghul Singh, Information Security Trainer, CTG

Security Solution, Amristar was the resource person on

15th & 16th June 2016.

He explained in detail about network security lab and

handled full day session on 15th June about network

security lab programs and concepts. The faculties were

given practical session on 16th June and there was an

interaction session at the end of the day for queries.

IEEE EVENT

IEEE COIMBATORE HUB CONGRESS was conducted by

IEEE madras section for IEEE STUDENT on 17.03.16.

JOURNAL OF CHEMICAL & PHARMACEUTICAL SCIENCES

in June 2016.

* THERESA VINODHINI has published a paper in IJSRSET

in June 2016.

* R. RAMYA & R.PRETHI has attended PYTHON

WORKSHOP on 11TH& 12TH MARCH 2016 at M.I.T,

Chennai.

* P.VASANTHA MALAR has published a paper in

ICONSTEM’16 at Jeppiaar Engg College.

* Mr. Ravi kumar (13-17- batch) attended Madras

Republic Day Camp Parade on Jan 26th 2015 in the

presence of Honorable Chief Minister.

* T.RENUKA & A.S.SELVA BHARATHI has presented a

paper in ICONSTEM’16 at Jeppiaar Engineering College.
