Principal’s address,
My Dear Alumni, Greetings to all,

our alumni to strengthen alumni association and make college proud. . I take this opportunity to
introduce before you the second issue of PCPians’ Bulletin.
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that our college has gained 9th RANK based on
Research output amongst the all India Pharmacy Colleges (Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical

amongst India’s Top 25 Pharma colleges as per a survey conducted by Outlook Careers 360,

alumni, students and faculty of our college. I congratulate all of you for this achievement on
behalf of Bharati Vidyapeeth, Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University, Poona College of
Pharmacy and Poona College of Pharmacy Alumni Association.
As you know this college known as Bharati vidyapeeth’s Poona College of Pharmacy,
was established in 1981 by Hon’ble Dr. Patangrao Kadam, Founder of Bharati Vidyapeeth. This
was first ever college imparting Pharmacy education within the jurisdiction of Pune University.
Dr. Patangrao Kadam cherished a dream of making this college a throbbing centre of excellent
pharmacy education and research. Under his able guidance, together we have done our best to
fulfill the dream of our founder. Since 1981, college pioneer in pharmacy education was
3
affiliated to University of Pune. Since July, 2000, it was incorporated under Bharati Vidyapeeth
Deemed University as its constituent unit. This step of merging in Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed
University was particularly motivated because of the academic autonomy, the college has
established.
Our college offers B.Pharm., M.Pharm. and Ph.D. in all specialization of Pharmacy and
it is an approved college from both AICTE and Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi. Based
on the infrastructure, facilities and faculty of the college both National Accreditation Bodies viz.
NBA and NAAC have awarded the most coveted “A GRADE” to our college .Our college is now
recognized Nodal (national) centre for QIP, programme in pharmacy of AICTE and we have
AICTE approved Industry Institute Partnership Cell running in our college. Our college is also
ISO-9001-2008 Certified Institute. Recently our college has started a Doctor of Pharmacy
(Pharm. D.) programme from 2009-10. Our college is the first and only college in Maharashtra
State approved by PCI to conduct Pharm.D. (Six years after 12th Sci/ D.Pharm.) and Pharm.D.
Post Baccalaureate (three years after B.Pharm.).
You can communicate your suggestions related to syllabus designing for current students,
alumni association, conducting guest lectures, collaborative research etc. in our college on my
email ([email protected]) or the associations email i.e. [email protected]. I
invite all the alumni visiting Pune, do schedule your visit to our college and interact with
students. Our M. Pharm. results are declared, you can help our juniors by arranging campus
