Due to a supply issue of the “snapin” type TirePressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor, subject vehicles are temporarily being builtusing the 2012 clamp in type sensor. Thischange will affect approximately 6 weeks ofproduction, or until the supply issue isresolved. An owner's manual addendum cardreflecting this change has been placed in theglove box of affected vehicles.

The TPMS sensor type can be easily identifiedby the valve stem.

The change is effective with the followingvehicles:

 16” alloy wheels: DE007527 built10/17/2012

 16” steel wheels: DE007484 built10/18/2012

This change will be reflected in future versionsof ASACAPS. Until then, if a replacementsensor is required, please order the correct partas shown in the photos above. To insureappearance uniformity and owner's manualconsistency, use only the sensor type originallyinstalled on the vehicle.

There is no affect in diagnostic or registrationprocedures. Both sensor types use the sameDTCs and registration steps.

BUZZ OR RATTLE NOISE FROM REAR OFVEHICLE WHEN ACCELERATING — 2013Outlander Sport/RVR. If a customer reports abuzz or rattle noise from the rear duringacceleration, check the clearance of the rear fasciato the muffler. It should be approximately 1.5”(35mm) at the closest point. Some earlyproduction vehicles may have a deformedbumper support stay. If you find a deformedstay, determine if it can be restored to the correctposition. If not, replace the stay.

SQUEAK FROM FRONT DOOR WINDOW —2013 Outlander Sport/RVR. Some earlyproduction vehicles may exhibit a squeak fromeither front door, as the window travels up ordown. If this condition is noted, remove theinner door trim panel and check near the doormirror location for the presence and placement ofa foam pad. The noise may be present if this padis out of position, missing or not properlyadhered. To address the condition cut a 25mm x50mm piece of 10mm thick foam from the BSR kit(p/n# MB991752), remove the old pad, ensurethe door surface is clean, then install the new padin the original's place. 1. Insert and lock the 2 bezel locking tabsindicated in the photos, below.

If the tabs indicated in the left photo arealigned first, the rest fall easily into place.

2. Place a nylon trim stick between the bezel andthe locking tabs (illustration below, left) whilepressing the bezel into place. The tool willprevent the tension ribs from collapsing whileinserting the locking tab into the bezel(illustration below, right).

produced by Clipper Creek. Currently, use ofa Clipper Creek charger could potentiallydamage the internal components within theiMiEV electrical system. If this damageoccurs, it could potentially affect the iMiEV'sability to start.

This incompatibility is caused by a softwaremiscommunication between the ClipperCreek EVSE charger and the iMiEV computersystem. To remedy this situation, Mitsubishiis developing a software update that isexpected to launch in January, 2013.

At this time, until an iMiEV has received theupdated software programming, Mitsubishi isrecommending to owners that choosecontinued use of Clipper Creek chargers, toremove the charging connector from thevehicle as soon as the energy level gaugeindicates the battery is fully charged. This willminimize the possibility of damage to internalcomponents within the iMiEV electricalsystem. Once the software update has beeninstalled on the iMiEV, an owner will be ableto resume normal usage of Clipper Creekcharger systems.

Your dealership will be provided with aTechnical Service Bulletin (TSB) and softwareupdate (flash file) to address this potentialincompatibility in January, 2013.

A copy of the customer letter is included with theATIN. The full document is available on theMitsubishi Dealer Link under service > servicetech resources > TSBs & Recalls by Model > TSBList (98-Present) > TSB List - 2012, then scroll tothe bottom of the page.
