Why Give?
1- Giving demonstrates the character of God - He is a giver! “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but inherit eternal life.” John 3:16 2- Giving celebrates the provision by God. “But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.” 1 Chronicles 29:14 3- Giving stimulates my dependence on God. “And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19 4- Giving communicates the worth of God. …“I will not sacrifice to the LORD my God burnt offerings that cost me nothing…” 2 Samuel 24:24 5- Giving allows me to participate in the work of God. “For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints.” 2 Corinthians 8:3-4 “And do not forget to do good and share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.” Hebrews 13:16 His character, provision, faithfulness, worth and work…
