Reflections
of Bro. Bryan
A Note from
Bro. Woody Jesus said in John 14:6 “I am the way, the truth,
and the life. No one comes to the Father except
through Me. Consider how different Jesus’
words are from the popular idea that there are
many ways to Heaven. According to Jesus, there
are no other “ways” to Heaven, He is the ONLY
way. I’m sure you’ve heard that many, many
times but don’t let your familiarity with it
lose its truth and power. Stop and thank God
for providing forgiveness and eternal life
through His Son. He didn’t have to, He wanted
to because He loves you.
We will continue our JESUS series this Sun-
day. In Luke 4, we read Jesus was teaching in
the Synagogue. At first the crowd was amazed
at His reading and teaching and then they got
angry and attempted to kill Him. Wow, Jesus’
ministry was just beginning and His life was al-
ready in danger. Actually, His life was in danger
right after His birth. Pray for God to speak and
for a moving of the Holy Spirit this Sunday
morning. And as you pray, pray believing!
Sunday, October 14, is Men’s Day!! We will
start off with breakfast in the gym at
8:00am. Our deacons will be cooking up eggs,
bacon, biscuits, maybe some grits, (did I say ba-
con?). There might even be some pancakes on
the griddle. After breakfast, Woody will corral
us into the sanctuary and get us ready to sing as a
men’s choir in the morning worship ser-
vice. Guys, let’s fill the choir loft and raise our
voices to the Lord!! If you can’t carry a tune, no
worries, come join us anyway. It will be some
good fellowship and I pray worship will be
sweet as we raise our voices to the Lord.
GOD IS FAITHFUL!

Jim’s Journal
Each year at this time, we have a couple of opportuni-
ties to be a blessing to children in our church, day
school, community, and around the world.
The first is our Fall Festival on October 31st. This is a
time of games, food, and fellowship where we can
reach out to the children and their families. We need
individuals, couples, families, and Sunday school
classes to volunteer at a game, help serve food, greet
our guests, take pictures, and just be the church as we
interact with them. We need candy to be handed out at
the games (drop the candy off in the tubs in the gym)
and desserts for the cake walk (drop desserts off on the
31st in the kitchen). There are signup sheets in the
foyer to volunteer to serve during the Fall Festival and
to bring desserts. There is no charge and we encourage
you to invite unchurched families and friends. There
will many here that night that do not have a relation-
ship with Jesus or a church home. This is a great op-
portunity to share with them what God is doing in and
through FBC Jasper.
The second opportunity is
Operation Christmas Child.
As in years past, we are ask-
ing individuals, Sunday
school classes and families to
participate in this mission
opportunity during the month of November. Our goal
will be 100 boxes to collect as a church. The boxes will
be available the first of November and we ask anyone
wanting to help in this mission project to grab a box or
two or three and fill them with the items suggested.
We ask that everyone brings their shoeboxes to church
on Sunday, November 12th as we spend time in prayer
for the people delivering the boxes and for those who
will receive them prior to taking them to the local col-
lection site the following week.
There will be gift suggestion lists for the different ages
in the foyer as well as other printable items that can
be used to make your boxes more personal. Please
pray and ask God how He wants you to be involved as
we become the hands and feet of Jesus during these
mission opportunities. If you have any questions, do
not hesitate to talk with me. God bless!!!
