Hi from Nat’l. Chevy, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and are working on a Happy New Year. We had a great Christmas with the whole family there. The temperature dropped to about 6 degrees so it was chilly, but fun. Last year when we got to my nephew’s it was icy and I got out of the truck, fell down and slid down the driveway on my backside. Luckily I had a change of clothes with me. You may have noticed that your newsletter was missing a couple of pages last month. This was only an issue in the black versions of the newsletter. There was a little printing malfunction, which we didn’t realize until we had a few phone calls from our readers. All the ads are being re-run so you won’t miss any of those. The contest page is there,

so those can also be sent in to us. If you can’t find the 5th tree, send it in anyhow. I could use more pictures and stories for the newsletter. I would appreciate it if you could help us out. There’s not much going on around here. Lots of interiors are still being ordered. If you are interested or thinking about replacing your interior call us, email or fax us for samples. Hopefully you will let us know which interior you are thinking about along with what color you would like a sample in. _______________________ Cover CarJust following up on some text description of what I have done in restoring this car. I got this car in 2014 for about 1,00. dollar.

Original owner sold it to someone that was going to restore it and it sat outside for several years as I surmised from the mud on the rims and rear axle.I have spent 3 years and about over 2,000 hours bringing this classic back to road worthy. I dismantled the car and save all the nuts, bolts, and parts. The body was acid dipped and thanks to a friend informing me of the pot metal striker lock plates I was able to cut them out before to avoid having hem melted to waste. The striker backing plates were welded back into their original position as I continued to patch and replace sheet metal.

The frame was dipped and rustproofed, then a Mustang II cross member welded in and suspension installed. I created a new transmission cross member by cutting through the original cross framing and bolting up the newly fabricated cross member to it to accept a rebuilt Borg Warner T5 transmission, open driveshaft connected to a ‘68 Chevelle rear end with a new 3.73 posi gear set.

The engine was built by George of Motor Masters in Hartford, Wisconsin and turns out 420 HP and about the same in torque, George has been building circle track engines and custom built motor for decades.

A Vintage Air Gen II Mini unit was added in and the

stock glove box was shorted 1.5 inches to allow all the plumbing to get in under the dash while still maintaining a functioning glove box. The original speedo was taken apart and the trim ring re-chromed and married up to a digital Classic Instruments unit that looks jut like the original in function and form. The new speedo had a

billet trim ring that did not look as good as stock so this allowed it to retain the stock appearance. A Kenwood DDX97903S stereo carplay touch screen was installed into the open slot where the stereo block off plate was with the block off trim plate cut to trim the outside of the stereo. The original clock and ashtray unit was restored and installed in working order.

2014 Camaro leather bucket front and rear seats were installed with the center console. The floor pan was altered to include pocket lock plates and rear screw down blocks for the front bucket seats. The rear seat

mount frame was bolted into the floor plan and and a latch installed for the fold down back seat. The shoulder seat belts are in the trunk and come through the rear deck plate over the shoulder and back to the floor mount for the lap area.

The exterior paint is a traditional candy apple red. Paint used was House of Kolor BC zenith gold metallic base with a translucent UK apple red on top and their show clear over that. The sides are separated with a pinstripe


______________________Cover Carand the bottom is House of Kolor base ready to spray universal based coat with show clear over it. Slightly different than the traditional candy color process and easier to spray but I like the slight 2 tone effect which is used on interior parts as well.
