CyanMagentaYellowBlack Vol. 2 Issue 4 14 DECEMBER 2018 KOLKATA NETAJI SUBHASH ENGINEERING COLLEGE (NSEC) CSR activities of ECE IEEE EDS Student Branch Chapter organized a workshop for the students of class XII of AK Ghosh Memorial Higher Secondary School on ‘Familiarization with various electronic components using Snap Circuit Kit’ as an activity of IEEE EDS-ETC (Engineers Demonstrating Science: an Engineer Teacher Connection) initiative to impart the knowledge of electronics among school students and inspire them to join Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The snap circuit kits containing components to make more than 600 interesting projects were provided by IEEE for making the subject of electronics more interesting to students giving hands on training on basic circuit making. More than 25 enthusiastic students participated in the workshop, and gave positive feedback. IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society Student Branch Chapter organized an educational visit to Doppler Weather Radar, New Secretariat Building. 15 students and a faculty member Prof. Arijit De of ECE department visited the radar facility centre. Go Green Initiative About 300 students of EE department organized Go-Green Initiative by plantation of saplings at the field of NSEC under the leadership of HOD of EE department and other faculty members. The Director, Dean and other senior officials were present. They also organized a procession to sensitize local residents of the adjacent neighbourhood. RAMCO Concrete Contest Ramco Concrete Contest was conducted at the CE department of NSEC. Almost 60 final year students perticipated. A technical presentation was given by the officials of Ramco Cement Ltd. On the same day casting of concrete cubes was also done by four groups who were selected based on the ‘Objective Assessment Test and Evaluation’ conducted by Ramco Cement Ltd. The winners were Payel Das, Sonam Kumar Chowdhury, Sourav Bhowmik, SK Noor Islamic, Soham Das of CE final year Anubhav Singh, Shaun Ray, Ayush Thakur and Saunak Das students of ECE, CSE & IT of NSEC have bagged 2nd Runners-up prize in TCS EngiNX 2018, one of the most prestigious national level competition. 7500 Teams from all over India participated. After several elimination rounds, 25 teams reached Final. Our students won prize money of Rs. 1 Lakh. Taekwondo in Techno schools and colleges MoU has been signed between Satyam Roychowdhury, Managing Director of Techno India Group and Master Pradipta Kumar Roy of Roy’s Taekwondo Association. Taekwondo and Taekwondo Education training will be given in schools and colleges under the umbrella of Techno India Group. Student Exchange The first batch of students from Sichuan Vocational College of Information Technology came to Sister Nivedita University in November, 2018. This is for the first time Techno India Group is hosting International Students from China through SNU. Since its inception in February, the vision of the University was to globalize Indian Culture and Philosophy to the world at large. The university will train and teach the students as a first step towards cultural and academic exchange between India and China. Japanese delegation to SNU Dr. Hiroki Hamada and Dr. Masaharu Seno from Okayama University & Okayama University of Science paid a generous visit to the SNU and other campuses of Techno India Group (TIG). The purpose of the visit was to initiate and enable joint research collaboration on fields of Biotechnology, Genetics Research and Product Development. The Wishes All began with those three words, When limerence rain. And all ended in one words, I had so much pain. At first it all bloomed so sweet, With game days you loved, cheated And proved to be complete! Imagined to be different So good and apparent Never did I think so fast Your love wouldn’t last!
