Consequences of Sin

Sister Nancy Willis

Some people think as long as you repent of your sin that’s all there is to it. When David committed his sin with Bathsheba, he broke four of the commandments, in just that one act of sin. They was, THOU SHALT NOT KILL, THOU SHALT NOT STEAL, THOU SHALT NOT COM-MIT ADULTERY, and THOU SHALT NOT COVET YOUR NEIGHBORS WIFE. David repented of his sin, and got forgiveness, but he still had to suffer the conse-quences. His son died, the sword would never depart from his house, evil would come from his own family, and his wives would be shamed. In Genesis chapter 49 it tells us how Jacob's son Reuben, stood to receive a double portion of the families inheritance, and a place of leader-ship among his people. But because of his sin all that was taken away from him. Reuben may have thought he had gotten away with his sin, but on his death bed his father Jacob, remembered and took Reuben's inheri-tance and gave it to another. The important lesson to learn from this is that even the best of men can sin. Also, true repentance does bring forgiveness from God, but does not eliminate the consequences of sin.

"I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never

thirst." John 6:33 (KJV)

Did you know that the name of Bethlehem which is the town that Jesus was born in means "House of bread"? In fact, His birth was foretold by the Prophet Micah over 450 years earlier. (ref., Micah 5:2) The "House of Bread.." I can't think of a more appropriate place for God to introduce His Only Begotten Son, Jesus "THE BREAD OF LIFE" to the WORLD, can you? I remem-ber an Old Testament teacher back in Bible College talking about the Manna in the wilderness and how it was something that couldn't be stored up as it would lose it properties. She told us how it has since then been something that has been widely used as a Di-gestive healing agent. She said that the scientists have proven that it was nothing more than a mixture of Coriander seed and Cilantro supernaturally mixed into a meal. Now think about that for a moment... the manna which fell in the wilderness couldn't be stored or kept to meet tomorrow's need, but friend, when we partake of Jesus (The Bread of Life), we are continu-ally fed, continually filled, saved to the uttermost, and satisfied for all eternity. While attending a Marriage Seminar at their local church dealing with communication, Leroy and his wife listened to the instructor, "It is essential that husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes." The speaker turned to Leroy and asked, "Can you name your wife's favorite flower?" Leroy leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, "It's Pillsbury, aint it?

Say What? A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women use a day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000.

The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men... The husband then turned to

his wife and asked, "What?"

A Picture of Daddy

After living in the remote wilderness of Kentucky all his life, an old hillbilly decided it was time to visit the big city. In one of the stores he picks up a mirror and looks in it. Not ever having seen one before, he re-marked at the image staring back at him, “How about that! Here’s a picture of my daddy.” He bought the mirror thinking it was a picture of his daddy, but on the way home he remembered his wife didn’t like his father. So he hung it in the barn, and every morning before leaving for the fields, he would go there and look at it. His wife began to get suspicious of these many trips to the barn. One day after her hus-band left, she searched the barn and found the mirror. As she looked into the glass, she fumed, “So that’s the toothless ole gal he’s been a runnin’ around with!”

Dizzy Doctor

Mrs. Frobisher made a visit to Dr. Wilson's office. "You see, Doctor Wilson, I'm always dizzy for half an hour after I get up in the morning," said Mrs. Frobisher Dr. Wilson thought deeply for a few moments. "Well, try getting up half an hour later," said the doctor.

"A Word In Due Season"

The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned Isaiah 50:4

A word in season to him that is weary. This is the writing of Isaiah, but is speaking of Christ which would come thou-sands of years later. Isaiah was indeed a prophet, and spoke to the children of Israel concerning the things of God. Prophets functioned all throughout the bible, and were known to speak a word at just the right time, to just the right person. A word in due season. That is the job of a prophet, to speak a word at just the right time. In the O.T., there are 3 words which describe the job of a prophet: 1. NABI which means to bubble forth, as from a fountain. The other two words RO’EH and HOZEH, when applied to the title of a prophet is pertaining to a seer or someone who beholds the vision of God, in other words, they see into the divine will of God. The “prophet” proclaimed the message given to him, as the “seer” beheld the vision of God. Thus a prophet was a spokesman for God; he spoke in God’s name and by his authority. Prophets weren’t just under the old covenant, but are also still functioning today. As we can see, Paul felt that it was very important to have prophets in the church. 1st Corinthians 12:27-28 – Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily proph-ets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. Ephesians 4:11 – And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; Jesus was called the great prophet throughout the bible several times, and is still the great prophet of the church today. We know that the gift is still functioning, but we don’t necessarily call them as they are. It is a great event in your life, to receive a word from a prophet. A word that you have no doubt is straight from the throne. Proverbs 15:23-24 – A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it! 24The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath. Proverbs 25:11 – A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. Psalm 45:1 – My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer. David said my tongue is like a pen, getting ready to pour out a blessing into someone’s life. He said his heart was stirring a good matter, and out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A word in due season. Nathan the prophet was sent to David, to speak a word into his life concerning Bathsheba, which led David to restoration with God. Joseph was sent to pharaoh, and told him the inter-pretation of the dream that he had, which allowed Egypt to store up enough food for seven years of famine. The word came from a young Jewish slave, to the king. A word of prophecy always comes at just the right time. Before a kingdom is going to come to ruins, or a life is going to be destroyed. We serve an on time God. HE may not come when you want him to, but he’ll be there right on time. The Lord has given me the tongue of the learned, that I may speak a word in due season to him that is weary. Many people will give a word, but it’s not in season. God knows exactly when to give the message, when it will hit home the hardest. You can not plant tomatoes in December, and expect a harvest. A word in due season will bring forth fruit in someone’s life. His thoughts are above our thoughts, and his ways are above our ways. And his timing is different than ours. When Daniel prayed, he sat in sackcloth and ashes and fasted for 21 days, until the word came back from the Lord. And when the Angel arrived, he told him, that God had heard his prayers from the first day, and that he had been en route with the word since then, but the prince of Persia withstood him. God has heard your cries, he has heard your prayers, and he is on his way with your an-swer. He is sending someone with a word, which will change your whole life. It’s only been delayed, not been de-nied. He heard you when you were on your knees crying out for help, he heard you when you were driving down the road with tears flowing down your cheeks trying to decide what to do. But you’ve got to hold on. His word is on the way. While you were laying in your bed, trying to figure out how you were going to make it, God said, I already know, I’ve already made a way, when it looked like there was no way. I want to talk to someone who is on the verge of giv-ing in. Someone who was about to hang it up, and throw in the towel. Your word is on its way. You’ve grown weary through the storms, the tests and trials have worn on you. Don’t give up now. He that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. You may fall, you may get kicked around, you may let the enemy beat you up, but pick yourself up, and dust yourself off, and stand back up and proclaim that you are the head and not the tail….blessed and highly favored, the very chosen, and elect of God. A righteous man falls down 7 times, but he gets back up again. The im-portant thing about this life is that you get back up again. He has given me the tongue of the learned, that I may speak a word in due season to him that is weary. He increases strength, even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint. Its time to stand up, and get ready, because the Lord is about to do amazing things in your life. Matthew 11:28 - Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Word Seekers they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD...

Most of you know that we have been in Radio Ministry for going on 20 years now and by the grace of God we have been able to reach and hear from peo-ple from all around the world. It has always been and continues to be a pow-

erful tool for ministry. A while back a dear friend of mine that is also in the Radio Ministry emailed me and was telling me how the number of listeners at his station seems to drop the moment he starts airing preaching/teaching instead of just music. That is sad but true for most stations. The truth is that so many people want to be entertained not taught...music makes them feel good...preaching/teaching brings con-viction. That word “conviction” has became a no no in the church age that we live in. I know people who will not darken the door of a church but will follow Gospel singers everywhere they go. The Bible says Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 2 Thess 2:3 and in 1 Tim 4:1-2 it says Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to se-ducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; These scriptures that speak of a “falling way” and “departing from the faith” could not be more real than they are today. People are falling away from the truth, and that in turn has caused many to de-part from the faith. They would rather be entertained by music or sit in the congregation of an all smiling preacher who basically preaches your ok, I’m ok we’re all ok! And this has lead to so many having their “conscience seared with a hot iron”...meaning they are left with no conviction. And “no conviction” means you can live any way that you want to live and still be right with God. So of course when a preacher stands behind the pulpit and brings forth the unadulterated truth the people begin to drop out like flies. Or as my good friend wrote me and said…”when you stop the music and go to preaching so many turn you off until the preaching is over.” That being said, though many are falling away and depart-ing from the truth there is still a remnant of Gods people who seek after the true Word of God. These are those who know his voice and a stranger they will not follow. There are still multitudes out there who are hurting and bound by sin that have tasted what the Music BUSINESS has to offer. They have tried the preacher in his $5,000.00 suit that stands in his mega-church each Sunday declaring the all inclu-sive gospel of health and wealth. They have tried religion and man made denominations and through all of this they have still found no peace or real freedom. Yes, there are still people who will seek and find the real Word of God in these last days. Amos 8:11-12 tells us “Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. “ There will come a time and you can see the beginning of it now that the word of the LORD will not be able to be found. BUT if you will seek him NOW while he may be found you will find true peace and deliverance in his Word! There are still those WORD SEEKERS out there which do hunger and thirst after righteousness:… AND Glory to God…they shall be filled!

SALVATION CORNER

We have set aside this corner of THE TRUMPET to show God’s Plan of Salva-tion. If you are unsure where you will go when you die, please listen to what God has said in His Word:

FIRST . . . GOD LOVES YOU! “For God so loved the world that he gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have Everlast-ing Life” Jn. 3:16

SECOND . . . MAN IS A SINNER, AND SIN HAS SEPARATED HIM FROM GOD! “For there is not a just man upon Earth, that doeth good and sinneth not” Eccl. 7:20. “For all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God” Rom. 3:23.

THIRD . . . JESUS CHRIST IS THE ONLY REMEDY FOR SIN! “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the un-just, that He might bring us to God . . .” I Pet. 3:18 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” Acts 4:12

FOURTH . . . YOU MUST RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR PERSONAL LORD AND SAVIOUR. Jesus calls this experience the “new birth.” He told Nicode-mus: “. . . Except a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God” Jn. 3:3.

We invite you now to receive the Lord Je-sus Christ as your personal Saviour. “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His Name” Jn. 1:12.

Pray this prayer and mean it with all of your heart: Dear Lord Jesus, I now realize that I am a sinner. I accept the fact that You died for me on the rugged Cross of Calvary. I now open my heart’s door and receive You as Saviour and Lord of my life. Please take Full control of me and help me to be the kind of Christian You want me to be. Amen.

If you prayed this prayer in all sincerity, you are now a Child of God! So that we might rejoice with you, please write, call or email us today and we will send you some material to help you with your new walk with the LORD!

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to

Lost Sheep, Misguided Shepherds by Ray Owens

My people have been lost sheep. Their Shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: They have gone from mountain to hill. They have forgotten their resting place. All that found them devoured them :and their adversaries said, we offend

not ,because they have sinned against the LORD. Jeremiah 50:6-7

In verse 6 the LORD says my people hath been lost sheep. He is talk-ing about Israel. The prophecy is from the prophet Jeremiah to Babylon and the Chaldeans. He prophesies that Gods People will seek the LORD and inquire the way to Zion. How many people presently are seeking the way to Zion and are being led astray by ”Shepherds”? There are many false shepherds, messages, prophets, etc, that are leading lost souls astray and are not presenting the way, the truth, and the life, Jesus Christ and him crucified. (Jn. 14:6 ) The bible says they have gone from mountain to hill and have forgotten their resting place. Jer. 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, stand ye in the ways and see and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein and ye shall find rest in your souls. There is no resting place in anything but the true, blood bought gospel of Jesus Christ. Verse 7 says all that found them devoured them. How many shepherds presently are devouring the sheep in the name of Jesus? They are promising and prophecying all kinds of riches when in reality they are the only ones profiting? We as the body of Christ need to return to the old paths.Deut.4:29-He said seek me and you will find me ,if you seek me with all your heart. Look at the latter part of verse 7 from our text, We offend not because they have sinned against the LORD. Doesn't that sound familiar? We don't want to offend anyone or tell them of their sin and wrongdoing they are committing as we may not get the support we need is the thought of many ministries I'm sure. In fact, the cross is an offense to many simply because when the cross is preached it exposes a multitude of sins. Matt.6:39, And he spoke a parable unto them, Can the blind lead the blind? Shall they not both fall in the ditch? We need to return to the cross. Preach the gospel without fear, favor, or compromise. That is not to say that a big percentage of Christiandom don't have itching ears and want a feel good, prosperity gospel because a lot do.2 Tim.4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine: but they will heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears. May we all return to the old paths and seek the old ways. God is God and he never changes. Jesus Christ the yesterday, today, and forever. God Bless you all!

Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have

told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am,

there ye may be also. John 14:1-3
