“The Provincial Progressive Conservatives were re-elected as the government of Alberta in March 2008. Would you say that you personally

approve or disapprove of their performance as Government since then?”

Redford’s leadership has significantlyimproved the trajectory of perceived

government performance sinceSeptember

However, overall impressions of thegovernment since the last election

remain very weak

“Now we’d like to get your thoughts on some of the things introduced to the Legislature this Fall. Premier Redford has been criticized by some people who say shehasn’t delivered on a number of campaign promises, while others say she has kept her promises. We’d like to get your thoughts.”

During the PC leadership campaign, Redford promised to introduce fixed election dates for future Provincial Elections.

The Bill introduced this Fallcalls for future provincial elections to occur every four years, but rather than on a specified date, they must happen sometime betweenMarch 1 and May 31st of the fourth year.

During the PC leadership campaign, Redford promised a Public Inquiry into allegations that included healthcare workers being intimidated and threatened bygovernment officials to not publicly criticize the healthcare system.

The Bill introduced this Falldidn’t establish a new inquiry, but rather gave additional powers to health care investigations already underway. Its call the Health QualityCouncil (HQC). The HQC will now have the ability to appoint a judge to their panel if they wish, and to call and compel testimony from witnesses.
