Vlasta Smola is a Chicago based computer graphic artist by day but her hobby is painting in acrylics and watercolors. Her works are exquisite in detail and color. She's immensely talented for a hobbyist painter.

“I find myself forever fascinated with the Art Nouveau period and its representatives: Alfonse Mucha, Czechoslovakia; Antonio Gaudi, Spain; Aubrey Beardsley, England. However, no less important in my creative endeavors is the influence of the Old Masters, i.e. Durer, Titian, Botticelli. I believe in the nature’s harmony and grace of a detail, in the peaceful beauty of a sunlit rosebud, in the inspiring power of a woman’s shoulder line.Beauty is the main reason and purpose for my art. I spare no obstacle in both challenging and expressing the power and mystery of beauty”.
