The Order of the Day at Centara Grand in BangkokCentara Grand and Bangkok Convention Centre at CentralWorld presented a Brazilian Food Festival featuring two guest chefs from Brazil at The World Restaurant between Thursday, 15th Augustand Sunday, 18th August. Awardwinning chefs Paulo Machado and Thiago Bettin prepared dishes from Brazil and other South American countries, including a creamy cassava soup with dried meat,duck leg cooked in tucupi sauce made with wild roots from the Amazon jungle, ground coarse corn cooked with pork short ribs and tomato sauce, crab meat Brazilian style, and churrasco, the famousBrazilian barbecue served on long skewers. Adding to the exotic atmosphere of the festival, Brazilian dancers performed nightly.

From Russia With a Love of PhotosMoscow Born Olga Volodina is on a Mission to Illustrate Her Life Philosophies

When Olga Volodina was working as amodel in Moscow, she found herselfbecoming more and more interested inthe methods of the whole photographicprocess, and it wasn�t long before shewas dabbling in the art herself.

Knowledge of the fashion industryhelped her enormously when she finallydecided to step from one side of thecamera to the other.

After several successful photo shootsher insatiable lust for insights into lifeitself led her to move overseas:Destination Thailand.

Two years living the idyll on thesouthern paradise island of KohPhangan led her to crave the brightlights once again, and a move toBangkok ensued.

Olga has resided in the capital for thelast two years, photographing projectsthat are dear to her heart, andundertaking fashion shoots for commercial purposes.

Her first exhibition, Woman Touch, was staged recently at V64 Art Gallery and proved a huge success, providing an interactivehandson experience for gallery goers.

�I have so many ideas and I need to say so many things about life,� the energetic Olga enthused, �about the relationshipsbetween men and women, about the treatment of animals by the cosmetic industry, and so much more. I sometimes wish I hadbeen born an artist so I could just use a brush and paper to express my emotions, but I have now mastered the skills of photoshopand I enjoy building up a working liaison with my subjects.�

Her next projects include a projection based series on different nationalities, and she is determined that the focus of one ofher next photographic essays is about animal rights.
