COMPOUNDSA tires tread compound, together with its casing, determines how well it holds the road. Vittoria tirelessly researches new compounds to give riders tires with even better roadholding and longer life, in all conditions of usage.

Isogrip is our reference-standard performance road compound, improved year by year to keep it at the forefront of race technology.

Kevlar SiO2 is our standard high-performance road compound. It has a high silica (SiO2) content and an admixture of microscopic Kevlar particles, for outstanding allconditions grip, low rolling resistance, and high mileage.

Kevlar 3D is Vittorias original high-performance formulation with added Kevlar, and goes into all our 220 TPI all-cotton tubulars.

Endura is a compound that wears and wears, used for endurance applications such as high-mileage training, where cost really matters. Great tread-life comes at a small penalty in wet grip, compared to lite tyres.

Reclaimed Rubber is the compound that increases the lifetime of tires, reducing the overall maintenance costs and the demand of raw materials.

CASINGTPICasing thread density is measured in threads per inch (one inch=25.4 mm), and known as TPI. The casing is the heart of the tire or tubular and is made of rubber and threads (which may be nylon, cotton, Kevlar, or Corespun). Standard road tires usually have casings of 2455 TPI. Vittoria tires and tubulars range from 26 TPI to 320 TPI. Riders in search of higher performance are likelier to choose higher-TPI tires.For many sporting riders, folding tires of around 150 TPI are a good all-round compromise of weight, rolling resistance, durability, and comfort. A higher TPI brings the benefit of lower weight and rolling resistance, but at a penalty to durability. Regardless, riders aiming to play harder will usually seek out tubulars and open tubulars with a TPI of 200 or greater.

NYLON casingNylon is a robust and durable artificial fiber traditionally used for utility tire casings. It can be very light but is not so supple as polycotton. Now Vittoria has narrowed the gap between nylon and cotton. Our exclusive Nylon Plus 220 TPI and 150 TPI weaves set a new standard in their class. The weight of clincher tires built in these new weaves is cut by 10% over the previous best nylon casings. Road feel and rolling resistance come closer to the top-model polycotton open tubulars.Vittoria also offers casings in Nylon 120 TPI, Nylon 60 TPI, and Nylon 26 TPI, each equipping a family of tires at its respective point on the price-performance scale, and all conferring the Vittoria characteristics of comfort, speed, and good handling.

COTTON casingThe sublime performance of Vittoria's tires and tubulars is the product of years of experience, clever R&D, and advanced production technology. At its heart is our mastery of fine-cotton manufacture. Vittoria is the world's leading manufacturer of cotton tire casings, which we produce in our own factories. Put simply, the finer the cotton fabric, the more supple the tire casing. The casing conforms closer to road's surface, giving a smoother ride, easier rolling, and better grip.The grade of fabric used in a tire's casing is expressed in threads-per-inch (TPI): the higher the TPI number, the finer the threads, the denser the weave, and the suppler the tire. Uniquely, Vittoria makes casings with 320 TPI cotton yarnthe finest available. This is the fabric that goes in to our legendary Pro Series, proven by millions of kilometers of racing.

Vittoria cotton casings differ in thread size and additive content, according to intended use:

Corespun T 320 TPI utilizes the finest thread available, exclusive to Vittoria. This special 320 TPI fabric makes for the lightest, supplest, and fastest casing ever, to sustain the highest pressures used in track and crono tubulars.

Corespun K 320 TPI has an admixture of Kevlar threads for casings where strength is of the essence, as in our Pav tubulars and tires.

Corespun 320 TPI is our most advanced polycotton casing, made of the finest thread with no added Kevlar, for the pure-play cotton sensation exclusive to Vittoria.

Corespun 290 TPI Evolution is a high-TPI cotton with polyester, producing a flexible, strong casing sustaining high pressures and offering uncommon performance and comfort.

Cotton 220 TPI Cotton is the traditional material of high-quality racing tubulars. Vittoria uses the finest grade of natural cotton, 220 TPI, in a diverse range of top-class tubulars.

RADIAL casingVittoria has expanded its nylon tire range with radial casing. This is different than conventional casing. The cord plies of a radial casing are set at 85 to the direction of travel and can move more freely against each other without chafing.The tire adapts smoothly to deformities of the road surface, so transmits less shock to the rider.The radial tire dissipates less energy, so more of the riders effort goes into forward motion. Additionally, the greater comfort and easier rolling allow the rider to choose a narrower, lighter tire, with benefits to aerodynamics and speed.

CASINGTUBULARA tubular tire has a round casing that completely encloses the inner tube, glued to a rim thats shaped to make a strong bond to the tire. The inner tube is usually made of latex-chosen because latex is more elastic than butyl, so resists penetration better. Its also more comfortable and rolls faster. (Latex tubes however are more permeable, so need pumping up more often.) On the exterior, the tread is hand-laminated over the casing, a labor-intensive process only used for premium tubulars that avoids the use of high temperatures. A tubulars round profile (constant casing radius) give it several advantages over a clincher. Cornering is more predictable and shock absorption much superior-the broad, glued interface to the rim spreads shock loads more evenly through the casing, letting the tire absorb big hits without deflecting or slowing down.

TNTVittoria TNT (Tube No Tube) tires are up to 100 g lighter than standard tubeless, yet have reinforced sidewalls with massive cut resistance. Run tubeless on UST rims with Pit Stop cartridge or liquid latex Pit Stop, TNT tires offer better cornering, faster rolling, and fewer pinch flats, at lower pressure. Fitting is easy: TNTs tire bead locks readily into the rim and tire is inflated with a standard hand pump. Pit Stop cartridge contains only 35 g of foam, as effective as 50-60 g of liquid latex, and is a reliable solution for tubeless running. TNT tires can equally be used with an inner tube if the rider prefers, and are still light for a reinforced tire.

FOLDING and RIGIDVittoria Folding casing tires are light and fast-rolling, while at the same time very resistant to pinch flats and cuts. The key to this combination of performance and strength is a careful choice of proprietary polyamide threads for the casing material, and optimized layout (cutting angles and layer coupling) of the plies in the casing construction. Its the casing quality that mainly determines a tires characteristics of speed, reliability, grip, and overall suppleness.Vittoria Rigid casing is the most cost-effective technology of the whole range.
