DESCRIPTION

Adapting new technologies to sustainably manage a precious resource: Visualising Victoria's groundwaterThis project will leverage high capacity broadband networks to visualise Victoria’s groundwater systems, distribute bore data and create web-based tools to construct and display 3D models on-the-fly. It will build upon the ICT infrastructure which underpins UB Spatial http://www.ubspatial.com.au Project partners include the Australian National University, Department of Sustainability and Environment, Department of Primary Industries, CSIRO, Thiess Services Pty Ltd, Senversa Pty Ltd, Goulburn Murray Water, Southern Rural Water, Natural Resources Canada, VeRSI and the CRC for Spatial Information.

A collaboration of 13 partner organisations

Use high-speed broadband to: Distribute groundwater bore data Visualise groundwater data Model groundwater systems on-the-fly

An interoperative web-GIS that federates groundwater data from disparate sources to assist water managers make the correct choices for the sustainable use of a precious resource
