Visual & Performing Arts
Art Tells a StoryGrades K-2
Learn about how artists tell stories through art. Students
learn to analyze clues in an artwork to interpret the
message of the artist. They see how jagged lines can
make a seascape threatening and how color can set the
mood in a landscape. Students master techniques such as
drawing contour figures, employing Georges Seurat-style
pointillism, printing designs inspired by Polynesian tapa
cloths and creating action drip paintings in the style of
Jackson Pollock.
DIY CraftsGrades K-5
Do-it-yourself crafts using a variety of tools, techniques,
materials, and ideas. Activities may include painting,
drawing, sketching, collage, and printing. New activities
each session!
Drama WorksGrades 3-5
Are you serious about theater? Sharpen your acting skills
through teamwork, creativity, and self- expression. You’ll
learn about the actor’s instrument, creating characters,
and improvisation through drama games and activities. At
the end of the workshop, you will show o� your skills to
family and friends. No prior experience necessary, the
only limit is your imagination!
CartooningGrades K-5
This workshop takes young artists on a fun filled journey
of exploration and discovery as they learn to draw
cartoon characters using simplified techniques. Hosted by
a 2D avatar (WanTu), each lesson is designed to inspire
creative. Children will be excited to share their finished
work with family and friends.
Young Actors ClubGrades K-2
Do you like acting? Come develop your skills and confi-
dence through improvisation and theater games. This
unique class introduces young actors to voice projection,
stage movement, and performance skills including acting
and character development. No experience necessary. All
you need is enthusiasm and a desire to perform and learn
the skills that will land you the part.
World of MagicGrades K-2
Do you love magic? Then come join us as we reveal a
magician’s secret every week. Magic lessons will increase
your confidence and reasoning abilities. Magic tricks will
include professional tricks that you get to take home, as
well as every-day objects like cards, coins, rope and paper.
Each trick will be performed and explained. At the last
class you will put on a magic show that will amaze and
delight your friends and family.
Modern ArtGrades 3-5
Learn about artists who use abstraction to communicate their feelings and ideas. Students will explore Salvador Dali’s
transformations of realistic figures, Charles Demuth’s precisionist style, and Georgia O’Kee�e’s nature abstractions.
Other artists and projects include collaborating on creating historical murals based Diego Rivera and painting decadent
deserts after learning about the modern painter Wayne Thiebaud.

Bee-Bot Robot DiscoveryGrades K-2
Young computer scientists are introduced to basic progra
ming through an engaging, hands-on experience. Using
the award- winning Bee-Bot floor robot, children are
presented with challenges and program their Bee with
directional language. Children collaborate, solve problems,
and think critically.
Animation DiscoveryGrades 3-5
Video production fun using stop-motion animation!
Using technology and award-winning software, learn to
bring inanimate objects to life, just like they do in the
movies! Children are only limited by their own imagina-
tions
GO GREEN: Recycled RacerGrades 2-5
Students recycle items that would ordinarily be discarded
by turning them into toys, sculptures, and household
objects. Students will use recycled materials to engineer
their own toy cars, then compete in a Recycled Racer
Rally. Developed by the Boston Museum of Science, this
workshop emphasis the Engineering Design Process
throughout the activities, encouraging creative prob-
lem-solving and innovation.
ENGINEERING DISCOVERY: Mechanisms& MachinesGrades K-2
Future engineers build LEGO® machines, models and
robotic creatures while conducting real-world science
experiments with motion, force, and energy. Models are
brought to life with the addition of motors, gears, genera-
tors, and even sustainable energy, like the wind!
LEGO RoboticsGrades 3-5
Create working models of amazing machines and crea-
tures, like a floatplane simulator, a hungry alligator, or a
pair of singing parrots. You will build models featuring
working pulleys, gears, motors, and bring them to life by
using basic programming code.
Build it with LEGO®Grades K-2
Children are challenged to build a bridge to reunite two
best friends stranded by a river between them, express a
scene from their favorite adventure story, experiment with
balance, weights, & measure, design their perfect house
and other community structures, design and play a new
strategy game, and more. Hands on expression of ideas is
at the core of this engaging, fun program!
Digital Art DiscoveryGrades 3-5
Bring doodles to life using Animation- ish® software
developed by FableVision. Your team will work together
to create animated images, web logos, and so much
more. Digital Art Discovery links art, digital animation and
creativity to real-world projects.
Chemistry Crimes MysteriesGrades K-2 & 3-5
Join our squad of Science Sleuths as they investigate a
series of suspicious crimes based on chemistry experi-
ments. Each mission begins with a silly crime scene and
ends with our Science Sleuths creating a chemical reac-
tion in the lab. Real science + ridiculous crimes = Lots of
learning and laughs.
STEM Maker Lab: Ocean RescueGrades 2-5
Children learn about the extreme build-up of trash in the North Pacific Central Ocean Gyre. Faced with ocean research
challenges that will require creative-thinking skills, problem solving, and teamwork, children make a model of a gyre and
play a food web game, collect and test the pH of ocean water, create their own egg-marines that must not sink or float,
and design a “robotic arm” for a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). Before heading back to shore to share their findings,
children design Trash Island fantasy clean-up machine prototypes.
World Language & Chess
American Sign LanguageGrades K-5
Immerse yourself in the world of American Sign
Language! You will learn colors, numbers, greetings and
the alphabet. In the end, you will put on a performance
demonstrating your understanding through the interpre-
tation of a song.
SpanishGrades K-5
Buenos Dias! Welcome to the exciting and vibrant Spanish
culture and language. Cooperative learning activities and
cultural experiences keep this program engaging and
interactive. You will learn days of the week, months of the
year, numbers, colors and much, much more. Basic
conversation is an exciting part of this enriching program.
Mandarin ChineseGrades K-5
Ni hao! Dive into the Mandarin language and culture.
Through conversation and art, you will be introduced to
the characters of the Mandarin Chinese alphabet, the
significance of colors and numbers, and basic conversa-
tional phrases and beginning target vocabulary.
ChessGrades K-5
Learn chess fundamentals including how to set up a
board, how the pieces move, and how the game devel-
ops. Students play chess matches each week and are
paired by skill level.
Sports & Fitness
Fitness OlympicsGrades K-5
You will participate in a variety of competitive sports and
tactical games that encourage you to build endurance,
speed, control, flexibility, agility, and coordination, while
working as a team. The games we play will help you devel-
op the ability to follow directions and work collaboratively
in a supportive environment, while increasing your skills to
compete. If you love playing more than one sport, this is
the class for you!
TennisGrades K-5
Developed in partnership with the United States Tennis
Association (USTA), our tennis program focuses on
instilling a passion for tennis, while promoting skill
advancement & new achievement levels. It is held in the
school gym using a five level skill development program
including playing the real game! It is great for both
beginner and experienced players and all racquet /sup-
plies are provided.
SoccerGrades 1-5
What sport has running, kicking, shooting, passing,
dribbling, blocking and fun? Soccer! Students can enjoy
soccer all year long. Skills covered include direct & indirect
kicks, o�side, goal kicks, throw-ins, penalty shots & much
more. Students play on competing teams while increasing
their knowledge of strategy and soccer rules.
