W ith a year into my tenure here at the Vistancia community, I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know many of you, and many more

of your great children. For this reason, much of this issue will be dedicated to the youth of Vistancia.Teens, tweens and young adults love utilizing the Mountain Vista Club as a gathering spot, and we love having them here! Although, one thing we have noticed is that when they travel in packs if they dont have stuff to do, trouble can sneak up and find them.

To that end, we have committed this summer to keeping them busy! Some of you may have heard that we are REVITALIZING our teen council. Currently known as the Teen Scene, this group of young people will meet regularly (food is usually involved) to discuss events for young people, how to engage the youth in Vistancia, how to self police and take pride in their community, fund raise, get to know each other better and make new friends! We had at least 20 kids at our first meeting in June. We ate pizza and brainstormed some great ideas for the summer. The enthusiasm was contagious and we think it was a great beginning.

One of the lessons learned from this meeting was that the reason kids dont attend a lot of our events was that they didnt know about them! We are looking to target our marketing to them in different ways by posting flyers and

save the dates in the gym and other prominent locations. We are also considering the feasibility of a text blast with reminders about meetings and events.

We are excited about the all the positive potential of an active and invigorated group of young people stepping up as leaders in Vistancia! If you have an expertise that will help us make this venture a success, we welcome your input and participation. We also welcome your kids to become a part of this group.
