COMENIUS PROJECT VISIT TO TURKEY 8-14 JANUARY 2012
ROMANIAN TEAM
The fourth project reunion took place between 8-14 January
2012 in Istanbul, Turkey. Romania was representd by 3 teachers:
Popescu Aurelia ( coordintor of the project), Novac Dorina, Zaharia
Bianca and 5 pupils : Novac Neagu, Parlitu Mihai, from the 6 grade,
Balan Aurelia, Enache Elena, from 7 grade and Bacan Stefania from 8
grade.
On the first day, the 9th of January 2012, we visited the
school Mustafa Eravutmuş Ilköğretim Okulu from Istanbul. We were
served with traditional food.
After that we went to the festivity room where we meet the 5
teams from the other countryes and watched the artisctic program
presented by the pupil of the host school.
Visiting the school
After that we assisted a chemistry class.
The activity that the hosts invited us to see was very interesting.
We learned about the Ebru technique which consists in making a
painting on liquid surface which is later applied on paper.
On the second day, the 10th of January 2012, we visited
Miniaturk, which is a miniature park that has 105 models , like: Hagia
Sophia, The Temple of Artemis, The Galata Tower .
After that we visited an Exhibition on Climate Change and we
learned about the reasons of climate change and it’ s negative effects.
We continued with an interesting tour by ship on the Bosphorus
which was appreciated by all.
In the third day, the 11 of January 2012, we visited the Basilica
Cistern which dates back to the 6th century and was used as a water
source for the sultan and the Turkis.
We continued our visit with the Topkapi Palace which was the
residence of sultans and the administrative center of the Ottoman
Empire for about 400 years.
In the same day we visited Hagia Sophia which is one of the most
important buildings ever build in Europe. It was a patriarchal basilica,
mosque , now a museum , and it is considered a symbol of the
Byzantine Empire.
The last building was the Blue Mosque, the most impressive
monument in the world, having 64 m width and 72 m length.
On the fourth day, the 12th of January 2012, we were
impressed by the panoramic view of the city from the Galata Tower, a
medieval stone tower, which has a height of 66, 90 m.
After that we visited the catholic church Saint Anthony and the
Sapphire Tower Istanbul skyscrepers.
The night ended with the Sema Show, a famous dans and a very
important element of the Turkish culture.
On the last day, the 13 of Jnuary 2012, we visited the Paper
Factory in Halkali, Istanbul, the Educational Department and the
Mayor of Istanbul.
The Istanbul Aquarium that we visited on the same day, is the
biggest Thematic Aquarium in the world.
The day ended with the ending ceremony where each country
presented its impressions and was awarded with participation
certificates.
The activities were very divers, interesting and very appreciated
by the participants . Congratulations to the Turkish team!
