• Support for vigorous growth

• Healthier fruiting and owering

• Better colour & texture

• Stronger plants

• Protection against insects & diseases

• Enhanced soil fertility

Organic manure to cater large-scale, agricultural requirements. Suitable for all types of soil and benecial in all seasons, it works for all types of crops such as cotton, groundnut, cumin, potatoes, cereals, vegetables and other crops as well as all types of greenhouse applications. It delivers the following ecological, organo-chemical and biological benets...

• Enriches soil quality

• Mobilizes nutrients and enhances benecial microbial activities in the soil

• Reduces toxic eects in the soil due to minimized usage of chemical inputs

• Improves avor, quality, and product life of all the crops

• High biomass yield on fertile/rocky/semi arid land

• Developing saline-resistant varieties of biomass crops

• Reducing emissions through vegetation

• Increased carbon sequestration through photosynthesis

• Water eciency

• Mapping of scientic agronomic practices

• Land reclamation

Inter-cropping

One of the largest sites of its kind in India...nurturing a sustainable agro-forestry model...

Agro-forestry is an integrated approach of leveraging the benets of combining agricultural and forestry technologies. It helps to create more diverse, productive, healthy and sustainable land-use systems.

To model sustainable cultivation of energy crops along with traditional agricultural crops, Abellon has set up an agroforesty project in Gujarat, India. The rst of its kind initiative in India, the project was initiated since early July 2010. The site showcases multiple combinations of energy, forestry, horticulture, leguminous as well as other short-rotation crops including Bamboo, thornless Prosopis, Drumsticks, Tuver, Banana, Sandalwood, Arduso etc. to name a few.

Till date, more than 140,000 trees have been planted on site, with over 100,000 bamboos.

The site has been developed as a truly sustainable and zero-waste generating model with integration of complementing elements…

COLLECTION & PREPROCESSING OF BIOMASS

AT THE POORNAKUMBHA HUB

VARIOUS SOURCES OF BIOMASS

Abellon has designed a unique decentralized model for sourcing biomass residue from within a pre-dened geographical distance from Abellon's solid biofuels manufacturing and power generation sites. It ensures continuous biomass supply round the year, reduces logistical complexities and minimizes carbon footprint from transportation.

To cultivate and harvest benets of bamboo on large-scale, Abellon has designed a bamboo farming model involving farmers. The model also aims at supporting Abellon’s bioenergy projects in terms of continuous biomass supply. Through this project, Abellon demonstrates strategic plan for utilizing land and other resources to maximize agricultural output.

BAMBOO FARMING

Abellon's model site also showcases a unique "Solar Agri-Electric Model", combining harvesting of solar radiation on silicon wafers to produce energy and supporting the photosynthesis platform for agricultural activities. Traditional guidelines for location of solar energy generation sites propagate use of desertied land, to ensure no conict between agriculture and energy generation. Abellon's model locates the solar site on agricultural land, and combines the strengths of solar energy generation with agricultural productivity, in the process proving that it is possible to get more value out of both in line with the principle of “ecient resource management".

The model anchors various innovative features including...

• Optimum utilization of space available under the solar panels to grow select crops

• Utilization of waste-water available from cleaning of solar panels, as well as rain water, to irrigate the crops - a "Water-positive" practice

• Use of water and vegetation to keep the place dust-free, thus ensuring greater efficiency in energy generation, and creating a micro-climate.

• Application of Zero Waste Concept - using waste derived from harvesting crops to generate energy and nutrition
