Because of the several popular restaurants, people have struggled to find a parking space at lunch time and dinner time, especially dinner time on Friday and Saturday.

The city has adopted parking ordinances, paid consultants to perform parking studies, and purchased directional parking signs.

The city has paid for parking spaces to be constructed down Stieger Lake Lane where no businesses are located.

The city is currently cleaning up the old Public Works site and spreading gravel to create a new public parking lot.

The city has considered constructing a parking ramp or some such structure and has also considered a business tax to help fund more downtown parking space.

Last year, downtown restaurants joined hands and resources to create shuttle parking to locations away from downtown Victoria.

Other downtown businesses have pleaded with city councilmembers to provide more convenient parking spaces for their customers.

For at least the last two months, the topic of parking in downtown Victoria hasn't come up at Victoria city council meetings.

The several popular restaurants and other retail businesses have been more or less shuttered down because of the coronavirus.

It looks like a ghost town.
