1.0 Configure VMAX Director Ports These attributes need to be set on the VMAX target ports on which the volumes will be mapped to.

2.0 Map the Volumes to be VirtualizedHere, the volumes are being mapped to two ports: 7H1 and 8H1.

3.0 MaskingWe will create two masking views, each with a VMAX target port and the corresponding VSP external port, aswell as the volumes to be virtualized.

3.1 Create Initiator Group

The initiator group holds the WWN of the VSP external ports.

3.2 Create Port GroupThe port group holds the VMAX target port.

3.4 Create Masking ViewThe Masking View ties all 3 groups together: Initiator Group, Port Group, Storage Group.

We will complete the virtualization process using Storage Navigator on the VSP at this point.
