But how would it work in education? Let’s say you are a teacher on a architecture and design class and you want to see how your students are developing or understanding your topic/class so instead of making a real life model they can just go to a virtual world and produce an interior design and you can evaluate them in the real world. Students can also meet with teachers and experts all over the world and learn from their techniques. Students can create new and innovative objects and exchange them with others as well. Students will learn many things in the virtual world classroom and the experience is just as if they were in a real classroom. The class contains posters, pictures and diagrams on the walls, sits for students a teacher teaching at the front, books in which you just make a click and read and see the pictures on text created by teachers or publishers themselves.

Education Topic: Architecture and Design

Who would Learn from this: Those interested in pursuing architecture as a career or to simply test out the idea to see if they would like to pursue that profession or not. Those that are in their undergraduate year in college could take part in the experience of being architect of getting the feel of what the job would be like. It could also be used for students which are in high school. Some students have one or two options of what career they want to study and need to decide which one to pursue in the end. They will be able to test out what being an architect is like in real life.

How will it work?

Virtual worlds are very helpful people can learn real things in a virtual world. They can develop amazing skills and build anything they want. Even people with no knowledge can design things and expressed them as they want and even make money out of it.

Of course this would not replace real world design and architecture tools but it will help student s to develop several skills like teamwork as they can meet in both real life and virtual world to develop a model and work as a group. Also

students develop techniques with clients as they can sell or build for a certain person in the real world the model they have built.

Advantages:

Students will get a feel of the basics in architecture such as the use of models before creating the real thing. They will also be able to use their imagination without any limit. Real Life does not put an end to a person’s creativity level. The students can go to their full potential and they may try to sell the product to see if anyone likes it. This will also test out to see if it might work in the real world. If some people become interested in the property in Real Life, then why wouldn’t someone be interested in the real world? If they see that no one become interested then they could take it as a sign that it is not such a good idea. I mentioned the fact of selling the property made. This could also be an advantage because students would be earning money even before they leave the classroom and graduate.

Disadvantages:

Even though the “Real Life” architecture class may cover the basics, but it does not replace the feeling of real architectural work like the building. In “Real Life” students can build things in a matter of minutes or even seconds. In the real world, the process takes weeks, months, and even years depending on what is to be built. Students in “Real Life” do not get the feel of picking up a hammer or sweating in the sun or going home with their muscles aching and feeling utterly impossible. This is something that “Real Life” cannot relive in their virtual world.
