User Manual for Viofor JPS System has been designed for a wide range of private users as well as health care professionals, i.e. medical doctors of various specializations (including dentists and veterinarians) as well as physiotherapists and rehabilitation special-ists, who use or are interested in application of variable magnetic fields in medicine.

In recent years, medical world has been intensively seeking new solutions in diagnos-tics and therapy, especially of noninvasive character, as well as treatment methods not sufficiently implemented until now.

Dynamic development observed in math-ematics, physics and technology (especially electronics) has resulted in a new quality

of physical medicine. Thanks to modern technologies applied in medical devices, the application and effectiveness of variable magnetic fields in medicine has also beenexpanded.

Viofor JPS System (further referred to as Viofor JPS) is a set consisting of: a control-ler with basic and/or additional accessories. Unique design solutions enable a wide ap-plication of therapeutic properties of variable magnetic fields. Viofor JPS provides a selec-tion of physical parameters of variable mag-netic fields used in:1. magnetostimulation in JPS System 2. magnetostimulation in JPS system paired

with light energy (optional)

Application of Viofor JPS System

1 CHARACTERISTICS OF VIOFOR JPS

1.1 Usage

Viofor JPS System is used for the following types of therapy:- Magnetostimulation of the whole body

or its parts- Magnetostimulation paired

with light energy of selected body parts

Viofor JPS System can be used:- in medical and physiotherapy clinics- in dentistry- in rehabilitation- in sport medicine- in veterinary medicine- at home as recommended by a physician- at home prophylaxis

2.1 Magnetostimulation2.1.1 Characteristics of magnetostimulation

Magnetic fields in magnetostimulationgenerated by Viofor JPS system are impulse fields of complex impulse shapes and signalstructure of multi-peak frequency spectrum. Basic frequencies are within 180 – 195 Hz, frequencies of impulse packets are within 12,5 to 29 Hz, packet groups within 2,8 – 7,6 Hz,

and series 0,08 – 0,3 Hz, whereas median induction of generated fields are significantlylower than those used in magnetotherapy.

Viofor JPS generates variable magnetic fields, which cause changes in the organismsimilar to those caused by physical activity (physical strain, physical activity); therefore they support biological regeneration. Both mental and physical regeneration is tightly connected with exercise. Variable magnetic field plays a similar beneficial role. Magneto-

stimulation stimulates in the organism electro-motor forces of such properties, which enable homeostasis, and in case of its disturbance stimulate return to a normal state.

Biological effect of variable magnetic fieldgenerated by Viofor JPS is the result of:1. electrodynamic effect of such field on ion

currents in the organism2. magnetomechanic effect of the magnetic

field on particles with uncompensatedmagnetic spin

3. ionic cyclotron resonance of cations and anions in the body fluids.Body fluids i.e. blood, the lymph and inter-

cellular fluid constitute so-called second modeconductors of the ionic character of electrical conductivity.

The essence of the Viofor JPS system is the optimal choice of two different electrical (and thus magnetic) signals as well as their mutual combination, in order to achieve the aforementioned three fundamental mecha-nisms of variable magnetic field absorptionby the living matter. ELF (Extremely Low Fre-quency) electromagnetic radiation may affect an organism in various ways. In magnetostim-ulation, due to extremely low value of magnetic induction, the most important are bio-electric, biochemical and bioenergetic effect.1. The bioelectric effect causes normaliza-

tion in the potential of the cell membrane. In pathological cases, the potential drops due to penetration through the cell mem-brane to the cell interior of positive ions, e.g. Na+. In order to reverse the process, the cell needs energy, which can be ob-tained from ATP hydrolysis.

2. The biochemical effect is based on an increased enzymatic activity as well as reduced processes related with ATP.

3. The bioenergetic effect is a factor that stimulates the nutrition and growth of cells and regulates intercellular processes lead-ing to regeneration of the organism. The main biological effects of magneto-

stimulation mechanisms are actions:- regenerative- vasodilatatory- angiogenetic

- stabilizing cell membranes- anti-inflammatory- relaxative- anti-spastic- analgesic

Analgesic action takes place mainly due to an increase in the secretion of endo-genous opiates from the ß-endorphin group, a substance responsible for the increase in pain threshold. The effect of analgesic action occurs not only during exposure to magnetic fields, but is also observed after exposure isdiscontinued. This determines the biological hysteresis of magnetic field effect. Preciselysuch a mechanism of analgesic action on the internal opioid system confirms an an-tagonist of opiates blocking this effect (Naloxone).

The basis for regeneration effect is mainly the intensification of the processesof oxygen utilization and tissue respira-tion as a result of intensified diffusion aswell as oxygen capture by hemoglobin and cytochrome. The increased capture of oxy-gen is associated with a stimulation of the processes of tissue respiration, DNA syn-thesis and acceleration of the mitotic cycle. Thanks to this, magnetic fields treat trophiclesions of the shank, accelerate the heal-ing of ulcerous niches, improve the cellular metabolism of the central nervous system and accelerate regeneration of damaged peripheral nerves.

Very weak currents generated due to in-teraction on piezoelectric substances e.g. collagen, stimulate the activity of osteoblasts. It is aided by intensification of vasodilatatoryeffects. It has also been observed that a mag-netic field inhibits demineralization processesof the bones and, at the same time, increases their mineralization – which is measured by densitometry.

Anti-inflammatory effect is connected with the stimulation of formation of c-AMP and E prostaglandin. Prostaglandin influ-ences the accumulation of c-AMP, which decreases the secretion of inflammationmediators from neutrophiles, basophiles, mastocytes and lymphocytes.

In case of the nervous system, magnetic fields also improve the interneuron conductivityand modulation of neuron activity as well as the pineal gland’s twenty-four hour rhythms of mela-tonin secretion, which is called” the scavenger of free radicals” responsible, among others, for the aging process.

The variable magnetic fields generatedby the Viofor JPS clearly modify the ampli-tude value of alpha and theta wave rhythms in proper directions, characteristic for the physiological state of relaxation - objectively measurable and indicated by value of the de-mobilization of the autonomous system. The results of psychophysical testing, as a part of psychotherapy of emotionally immature sub-jects point to magnetostimulation as a method of choice for these people all the more due to the fact that this is a non-invasive method ap-plied equally in medicine as in psychology.

- Prosthetic treatment (after prosthesis application)

2.1.3 Contraindications to magnetostimulation

Contraindications apply to magnetostim-ulation as a method, and not the Viofor JPS apparatus. Emitted fields are a contraindication in case of an existing disease – whereas they are not a disease-developing factor. The diseases mentioned in contraindications are caused by different factors. At present, there is no information in literature regarding contraindications to magnetostimulation. However, in view of the comparatively short period of existence of magnetostimulation in rela-tion to magnetotherapy, the contraindica-tions should be the same as in case of magnetotherapy, i.e.:- pregnancy- active neoplastic disease- active tuberculosis of the lungs- bleeding from the alimentary tract- serious infections of a viral, bacterial

and mycotic origin- the presence of electronic implants- conditions after organ transplants

Pregnancy is a state in which the dynam-ics of forming new tissues is the greatest. As a rule, apart from necessary measures, everything else should be avoided during preg-nancy. Until now, the influence of magneticfields on the fetus has been unknown. Due to

lack of information on the effect of magnetic fields on the fetus, the application of variablemagnetic fields in pregnancy should be con-sidered inadvisable.

Neoplastic disease in the majority of cases has been of a vague etiology, and the natural history of neoplastic diseases is also known only in some cases. Experimental data regarding the effect of magnetic fields on neo-plastic cell cultures and animals with an active neoplastic disease are contradictory. In accor-dance with the principle primum non nocere, variable magnetic fields should not be appliedin a neoplastic disease, although many data indicate a positive effect of magnetic fields onneoplasms.

Active tuberculosis of the lungs is a contraindication to the application of mag-netic fields, due to their interactive effect ontissue. The influence of magnetic fields onthe utilization of oxygen, as well as on the blood flow, is beneficial. Koch’s bacilli areaerobes, therefore, based on knowledge of the biological effects of variable magnetic fields, in case of TBC, they should not beapplied.

Bleeding from the alimentary tract should be divided into massive hemorrhag-ing – from the varices of the gullet and peptic ulcers – and bleeding accompanying gastritis type diseases. In case of intensive bleeding, the therapy of choice is an endo-scopic or surgical intervention. In case of bleeding observed with gastritis erosiva and gastritis haemorrhagica, caution is also rec-ommended in the application of magnetic fields. In case of gastric ulcer the relaxativeand anti-spastic action of variable magnetic fields could be considered advisable, nev-ertheless the decision of their application in this disease should be consulted with a doctor, since it is frequently accompanied by gastritis

Serious infections of a viral, bacterial and mycotic origin are a contraindication to the application of magnetic fields. Eachtype of these diseases should be treated with antiviral, antibiotic and antimycotic phar-maceuticals.

Electronic implants applied in mod-ern medicine, in most cases have good screening from external interference. From physical point of view, the fields applied inmagnetic field therapy, particularly in mag-netostimulation, have little influence on theoperation of electronic implants. The person ordering the therapy rarely has knowledge of the electronic implant’s screening qual-ity that is why it is safer for the patient to refrain from exposure to variable magnetic fields.

2.1.4 Side effects, which may occur due to magnetostimulation

Until now, no serious side effects of mag-netostimulation have been reported. The fol-lowing effects might occur temporarily: - tingling sensation - numbing sensation- warmth sensation- sleep disorders, particularly in elderly

people- irritation- concentration disorders- temporary intensification of pain.

Tingling, cramped and warmth sensa-tion may occur particularly in the first threeor four days of exposure. This applies in par-ticular to post-traumatic areas of the osseous system.

Sleep disorders are observed only in ap-prox. 3% of elderly patients. This could be easily eliminated by exposure to increasing level of induction.

Irritation and/or concentration dis-orders concern particularly women during menopause as well as people with increased tension of the neurovegetative system. The above symptoms are usually observed in the first days after exposure. The frequencyof their occurrence may decrease through the application of an increasing value of in-tensity. It is also advisable to inform patients about possibility of side effects. The above symptoms affect approx. 4% of women and 1% of men.

Temporary intensification of pain usually occurs during the first period of ex-

posure and affects people with significantdegenerative changes of the osseous-joint system.

Summing up, having taken into consider-ation the above observations, it should be stated that the application of variable mag-netic fields is safe and the progress of ex-perimental and clinical knowledge will in all likelihood result in reduction of the number of contraindications.

2.2 Magnetostimulation paired with light energy

2.2.1 Characteristics of magnetostimulation paired with light energy

The method of magnetostimulation paired with light energy utilizes the magnetic fieldeffect described in paragraph 2.1 of the Manual.

Light energy has a mainly topical effect on tissues. Its body penetration depends on the light wavelength. Tissue reaction depends on energy absorption in each tis-sue layer. The absorption is mainly affected by: tissue thickness, blood supply and flow, water content and presence of pigment. Infrared reactions start at the level of cell membrane, and reactions to red light – in mitochondria.

At the tissue level, mechanism of biologi-cal effect of variable magnetic fields and lightenergy are of similar nature. When applying magnetostimulation together with light, a syn-ergy effect could be expected, depending on individual characteristics.

Main biological effects of magnetostimu-lation paired with light energy should be as follows: - improved oxygen assimilation by its car-

riers, which improves ATP synthesis in oxidation-reduction systems aerobic and anaerobic respiration path; increased ATP concentration is directly related to the increased activity of ATP-dependent enzymes, responsible, among oth-ers, for protein and collagen synthesis,

Page 10: Viofor JPS System Classic - User manual (En)

which better stimulates tissue regenera-tion process.

- Strong stimulation of DNA synthesis and cell proliferation

- Vasodilatation effect due to direct relax-ation of vessel smooth muscular coat, related with accelerated processes of angiogenesis and tissue perfusion, which improves regeneration

- Direct effect on liquid crystal mem-brane structure and on modification ofmembrane enzyme activity related with increased ATP-dependent ion pumps through increased ATP synthesis in mi-tochondria; each of the above processes leads to changed membrane permeability, thus to change in electrolyte and water distribution between cells or their organelle and surrounding areas; both processes have a strong anti-inflammatory and anti-swelling effect

- Restored ATP-dependent membrane pump activity, which has been lost due to disease-related changes – sodium-po-tassium and calcium pumps in neurons, which leads to membrane hyperpolariza-tion and stimulus blocking, even those of high amplitude; as a result, pain stimuli conduction in afferent fibers is decreased, therefore a clear analgesic effect can be observed

- Changed activity of serotoninergic synapses and stimulation of beta-endor-phin release and stimulation of pituitary gland-adrenal gland axis accompanied by increased release of clycocorticoids adds to a strong analgesic effect

- Regulation of immune system and rheo-logical blood properties

2.2.2 Indications for magnetostimulation with light energy

I. Analgesic effect 1. osseous-joint system:

- degeneration of the spine and osse-ous-joint system of the upper and lower limbs

- joint strain and injuries- rheumatoid inflammation of the joints- stiffening inflammation (rigor) of the spi-

nal joints2. soft tissue:

- extrajoint rheumatism – so-called fibromyalgia

- traumas of soft tissue- zoster- neuralgia

II. Regenerative effect- skin and soft tissue inflammation- skin and soft tissue post-inflammation

condition- psoriasis- burns- bedsores- chronic and subacute arthritis- initial treatment preceding massage,

kinesitherapy and iontophoresis

III. Improvement of peripheral circulation1. improper local blood flow in the limbs:

- in diabetic angiopathy- in atherosclerotic angiopathy- in crural ulceration

2. accelerated absorption of haematomas4. decreased lymphatic edema

IV. Anti-spastic effect- degenerative diseases of the nervous

system, accompanied by spasticity

V. Decreased oxygen deficit and debt through affecting the processes of:- aerobic tissue respiration- anaerobic tissue respiration

2.2.3 Contraindications to magnetostimulation and light energy treatment

Although there is no proof for negative effect of magnetostimulation on each meta-bolic function, contraindications should be the same as in case of variable magnetic field (see paragraph 2.1.3.). Special attention should be paid to local neoplastic

Page 11: Viofor JPS System Classic - User manual (En)

9

changes and changes that are difficult to identify, predisposition to bleeding as well as acute inflammation of skin and soft tissue in the area exposed to therapy. Patients who are administered drugs, which cause photosensitization or show symptoms of photosensitization should not be treated – it is easy to verify by checking patient’s history.

2.2.4 Side effects which may occur due to magnetostimulation with light energy treatment

No significant side effects should be ex-pected. The following effects might occur temporarily:- tingling sensation,- numbing sensation,- warmth sensation,- skin erythema in the area of treatment.

3 THERAPY SELECTION

Viofor JPS apparatus is a unique and original design that provides the user with the selection of one of three options of variable magnetic field therapy:1. magnetostimulation in JPS System2. magnetostimulation in JPS System paired

with light energy

In order to establish the application param-eters and therapy options for a given patient, the following factors should be considered:- age- general health- course of the main illness- co-existing illnesses- administered pharmaceuticals - the number of treatments and their duration - other types of physical therapy.

3.1 Magnetostimulation1. Therapy should be conducted upon

a diagnosis and doctor’s consultation2. Magnetostimulation, like other forms of

physical therapy, usually does not bring immediate effects. They depend on the nature of the illness, its length and coexist-ing illnesses. The individual reaction to this type of treatment is also important.

3. Magnetostimulation complements primary treatment. Changes in treatment (par-ticularly pharmacological) should be intro-duced only after doctor’s consultation.

4. When lying down on a large applicator (mat, frame bed), the head should always be positioned near the cable outlet.

5. Due to the possibility of sleep disorders, par-ticularly in elderly patients, treatment should be avoided late in the evening. It particularly concerns treatment of the head and neck area with the use of a pad, elliptic and point applicator as well as ring applicators.

6. Therapy should be preceded by applica-tion of dEF1 or dEF2 program (see below), since it allows to determine individual sen-sibility to magnetic field therapy. The listsof programs are available for Classic version

Prophylaxis – based on default parameters preprogrammed by manufacturer (dEF1 and dEF2 lists are used only for magnetostimulation)

Page 12: Viofor JPS System Classic - User manual (En)

10

only (displayed by remote control). Stan-dard version users can set the below-listed parameters (M and I) manually – except for program (P), which is a default program and equivalent of P2 program in Classic version.

7. Each applicator can be plugged in any socket of Viofor JPS Classic controller. If a default program has been selected, i.e. dEF1 and dEF2, applicators assigned to these programs should be plugged in ac-cordance with markings on the controller and tables indicated in item 6.

8. Magnetostimulation with the use of a large applicator (cot, mat, short mat) can be ap-plied in intervals of minimum six hours, two or three times within 24 hours.

9. In case of long-term therapy in chronic ill-nesses, a week interval is recommended after several weeks of application.

10. During therapy it is not possible to interfere with the application’s parameters – all keys, apart from START/STOP and SOUND, are inactive at this time.

11. Possible subjective side effects are usually of temporary character.

12. Usage of an adapter enables to use two ap-plicators at the same time without possibility of applying different application parameters.

A table containing applicator combinations is on page 11. The applicators, when used simultaneously on a patient, intensify the effect of variable magnetic field, and, there-fore, accelerate the therapeutic effect. Two elliptic applicators of the same color cannot be used on one patient in respect to the same body part. It is, however, possible to use any two applicators on two patients. Other combinations require consultations with the distributor.

3.1.1 Application parameters components

3.1.1.1 Programs (P)1. P11) – JPS system with one impulse type

of different impulse order and structure as compared with P2

3.1.1.2 Application modes (M)1. M1 – application with a constant intensity;

the selected field intensity is constantthroughout the whole time of application; recommended in persons of good health

2. M2 – application with increasing intensity; the degree of field intensity increases every 10 or 12 seconds from 0,5 to the se-lected intensity, cyclically during the time of application; recommended in persons of lowered general condition

1) for version Classic

11

3. M3 – application with an increasing-de-creasing intensity; the degree of field inten-sity increases in 2 min. from 0,5 to the se-lected value, during the next 8 min. remains at the selected level, during the last 2 min. decreases to a level of 0,5; apply from an intensity of 3 or higher.

3.1.1.3 Magnetic field intensity ( I )Intensity from 0,5 to 12 corresponds

with proportional values of magnetic field emitted by the applicators. It is recom-mended to start therapy from magnetic field intensity set at 1 and successively set to higher levels. The speed of setting to higher levels depends on the age and gen-eral health of the user. For persons of high sensitivity to magnetic fields it is recom-mended to start application from a level of

0,5. For older people and children, chang-es may be introduced every 5-7 days, for others every 1-2 days.

Proposed magnetic field intensity for adults: - level 0,5 do 121) (102)), depending on age

and individual sensitivity to magnetic fields.Proposed intensity for children:

- 0-2 years level 0,5-1- 2-5 years level 1-2- 5-11 years level 1-4- 11-15 years level 1-6

3.1.1.4 Selection of application parameters

Application parameters are selected through a combination of: program (P)1), mode (M) and intensity (I)1. P11) + M1 – application with constant in-

tensity (8 min.)2. P11) + M2 – application with increasing

intensity (12 min.)3. P11) + M3 – application with increasing-de-

creasing intensity (12 min.)

5. P21) 2) + M2 i P31) + M2 – JPS system with increasing intensity (12 min.)

6. P21) 2) + M3 i P3 + M3 – JPS system with increasing-decreasing intensity (12 min.)The recommended modes of applica-

tion are based on wide clinical experience of the teams of practicing physicians as well as multicenter research that evaluate the ef-fectiveness of magnetostimulation with the Viofor JPS apparatus.

Each of the application types can be com-bined with selected field intensity according tothe above-mentioned instructions.

In order to establish the application param-eters for a given patient, the following factors should be considered:- age- general fitness- course of the main illness- co-existing illnesses- pharmaceuticals administered- time of the day, when therapy

will be carried out- duration of magnetostimulation- other types of physical therapy.

3.1.2 Using more than one applicatorAdditional accessories (adapter, extra ap-

plicators) enable optional usage of several applicators in one or more patients in order to increase the therapy effectiveness or to use the apparatus more economically.

Example:– patient with rheumatoid inflammation of

joints and significant degenerative chang-es of hip joints – simultaneous application of a mat (whole body) and a pad (hips)

– several large applicators used for several athletes, e.g. after training.Two-color coding of applicators is used to

identify the direction of magnetic field polesgenerated by an applicator. In case of the same impulse direction, each element of the applicator when, for example, facing white side up, will have the same magnetic field

pole direction. It is important in case of using of two applicators in one patient.

NOTICE!

Never use two applicators with the same color sides facing each other.

When a patient’s body or a part of the body is placed between two applicators generating heterogeneous magnetic field, the effect isclose to the homogenous magnetic field.

1 m connection between two elements of the flat applicator enables simultaneous ex-posure of two body parts.

Two or three large applicators can be used at the same time (connected with one or two adapters) as well as different combinations of applicators (e.g. large and point applicator, large and small, large and point). Point applicators work with large or small applicators facing the white side up. In case of using applicators in two or three patients at the same time, therapy parameters are identical for all patients. There is no possibility of setting separate parameters for each applicator when used simultaneously.

3.2 Magnetostimulation with light energy

CAUTION!

STRONG RED AND/OR INFRARED RADIATION!

PROTECT YOUR EYES!DO NOT LOOK AT THE LIGHT!

1. Magnetostimulation paired with light en-ergy is used locally during the series of repeated treatments with the use of one of three magnetic-light applicators.

2. Each applicator generates a heteroge-neous variable magnetic field in the JPSsystem. The light area of 48 diodes is lo-cated in within the coil and equals 19,6 cm2.

3. Light energy penetrating the tissue de-pends on the radiation properties (wave-lengths, angle of incidence), and on tissue

Application of Viofor JPS System

13

properties (rate of hydration, perfusion, pigment content).

4. Tissue penetration will be the highest in case of infrared magnetic-light applica-tor (48 diodes, wavelength 855 ± 5 nm and one diode, wavelength 630 ± 5 mn), intermediate in case of combined mag-netic-light applicator (24 diodes, wave-length 855 ± 5 nm, 24 diodes, wavelength 630 ± 5 nm), and the lowest in case of red magnetic-light applicator (47 diodes, wavelength 630 ± 5 nm).

5. Energy power of each light type will in-crease to intensities set on the controller. Between 0.5 – 6 it increases proportionally to intensity, and between 6 – 12 – it re-mains on the same level.

6. Treatment with magnetic-light applicators should be started from low induction val-ues of variable magnetic field, due to theexpected synergy of magnetostimulation and light energy.

7. If the magnetostimulation has started with the use of elliptic applicator, then it is rec-ommended to lower down the induction of magnetic-light applicator by 50% as com-pared to the previous one in respect to the same body area.

8. Due to the applicator contact with the skin, it is recommended to wash and dry the skin area to be exposed.

9. When using magnetic-light applicators, never direct the light in the eye area!

3.2.1 Application parameter components

3.2.1.1 Programs ( P )When using magnetic-light applicators, all 3

programs are recommended, i.e. P11) P22) and P31). Energy light parameters are indicated in technical data tables, pp. 32-34.

3.2.1.2 Application modes ( M )Viofor JPS apparatus enables three

different application modes (M) for vari-able magnetic field described in paragraph3.1.1.2.

When using magnetic-light applicators, M1 mode is recommended. It is the applica-

tion with constant intensity, where selected intensity of variable magnetic field does notchange during the application.

3.2.1.3 Magnetic field intensity ( I )

Intensity from 0,5 to 121) (102)) corresponds with proportionate values of variable magnetic field emitted by ellipticapplicators. The highest mean impulse value of variable heterogeneous magnetic field (in microteslas) on the surface of mag-netic-light applicators is 8.9 x 1 at P2M1 (intensity level selected on the Viofor JPS controller).

It is recommended to start the therapy from the lowest intensity and increase it gradually.

3.2.1.4 Selection of application parametersApplication parameters are selected

through a combination of one of three pro-grams (P11), P22) or P31)), application mode M1 (recommended) and magnetic field inten-sity (I).

Treatment duration is set automatically depending on P and M combination.

When the induction in Viofor JPS con-troller increases from 0.5 to 6, light energy density increases as well, whereas above these values, i.e. from 6 to 12, only variable magnetic field induction will increase. Due tothe expected synergy of both types of radia-tion, the therapy should be started from low induction values of variable magnetic field, and, therefore, from low light energy density level.

Selection of one of three magnetic-light applicators should depend on the type of light required for a given form of therapy.

1. Red magnetic-light applicator R (wavelength 630 ± 5 nm) is used mainly for skin disease treatment, such as unhealing wounds and ulcerations (including bedsores), common acne and zoster. It is recommended in dermatology and cosmetic surgery.

Plug the applicator into any controller socket*. Set the desired application param-eters and press START/STOP button.

11.1.4 Small applicator - padUsed for local treatment, can be placed over or un-der selected body part. Contains one pair of coils generating heterogeneous

variable magnetic field. The strongest effect of magnetic field is located near each coil. Do not bend the pad. Two color. Size 50 x 30 cm.Installation: Plug the applicator into any controller socket*. Place the applicator on or under the treated body part. Set the desired application parameters and press START/STOP button.

11.1.5 Point applicator (S and Z)For local application. Generates heterogeneous variable magnetic field of point-like characteristics. Used in dentistry, on selected acupuncture points and in cases when a narrow beam of variable magnetic field of significant induction

is required. Can be used together with two-color applicator facing white side up.Installation: Plug the applicator into any controller socket*. Point the plastic applicator end to the place exposed to treatment. Set the desired application parameters and press START/STOP button.

11.1.6 Elliptic applicator (light and green)For local application, fastened with the belt on limbs or with the tape in other places of application. Generates heterogeneous variable magnetic field, whose area of activity is within approx. 6 cm circle. Used mostly for treatment of small and medium joints,

in dentistry and laryngology. White and greed applicators, when used separately, work identically. If two elliptic applicators are used on the same spot, e.g. wrist in the same patient, only different color applicators can be connected.Installation: plug the applicator into any controller socket*. Place the applicator on the treated area, fasten with the strap, with an adhesive tape or hold it in one position. Set the desired application parameters and press START/STOP button.

11.1.7 Ring applicator – small, 30 cm diameter

For local application on limbs. Generates homogenous variable magnetic field of line of force parallel to the coil axis, therefore parallel

to patient’s body, which increases application effectiveness. Equipped with two cable sockets, marked H and L. When applicator is connected to socket H, the induction of magnetic field generated by the applicator is three times stronger than in socket L.

* In case of using default application parameters, mat, pad and point applicators should be connected in accordance with symbols located over the controller sockets.

Installation: select therapy type: H or L and plug in the cable in the selected applicator socket, in accordance with symbols on the cable. Plug the other end to any controller socket. Place the limb inside the applicator (applicator should be place exactly above the treated area) on a flat base. Set the desired parameters and press START/STOP button.

11.1.8 Ring applicator – large, 65 cm diameter

Used together with the large applicator – frame bed. Equipped with rolls that can be moved in the frame bed guides. In the area of applica-tion, generates homogenous variable magnetic field, of line of force parallel to the coil axis, therefore parallel to patient’s body,

which increases application effectiveness. Used as local applicator for selected body parts.Installation: Plug properly (see assembly instruction) ring applicator installed on the guide rails of the frame-bed applicator to any controller socket. Lie down on the applicator and set the ring applicator. Set the desired application parameters and press START/STOP button. If frame-bed applicator and large ring applicators have to be used simultaneously, they should be connected through an adapter.

11.2 Magnetic-light applicators

Three magnetic-light applicators for lo-cal use (red (R), infrared (IR) and combined red/infrared (R+IR)). Generate heteroge-neous variable magnetic field of physical parameters of magnetostimulation in JPS System, whose area of activity is within ap-prox. 6 cm circle. The applicator coil con-tains:- Red applicator R - 48 red LED diodes

- Infrared applicator IR - 47 infrared LED diodes, one LED red diode

- Combined applicator R+IR - 24 infrared and 24 red LED diodesLight area of magnetic-light applicators

is 19,6 cm2. LED diode terminals touch polycarbonate plate 0,75 mm thick. Plate is place directly on patient’s body. Applicators are fastened with the belt on limbs and with tape on other parts of the body. Synergy of both types of electromagnetic radiation is expected.

11.2.1 Red magnetic-light applicator (R) (wavelength 630 ±5 nm – shal-low penetration) is used mainly for skin disease treatment, such as unhealing wounds and ulcerations (including bedsores),

common acne and zoster. It is recommended in dermatology and cosmetic surgery.

11.2.2 Infrared magnetic-light applicator (IR)(wavelength 855 ±5 nm – deep penetration)in motor system diseases (arthrosis; pain syndromes in discopathy; syndromes

due to strain of muscles and periarticular soft tissue; inflammation of tendons, fascia, tendon sheaths and joint bursa; periarticular inflammation; bone fractures and delayed union of fractured bones) as well as in neurological diseases (neuralgia of peripheral nerves – intercos-tal neuralgia, trigeminal neuralgia, post-zoster neuralgia, sciatica; diabetic neuropathy).

11.2.3 Mixed magnetic-light applicator (RIR)

(wavelength 630/855 ±5 nm – medium penetration) in chronic skin inflammations; keloid, psoriasis, psoriatic joint inflammation, ankylosing

spondylitis, rheumatoid inflammation of the joints, post-thrombotic syndrome.
