Thank You Nobleford Property Tax Payer for the Community Complex and Programs Many individuals and organizations use the community complex (not “Blue Whale”) owned by the Village of Nobleford for activities and programs at no rental fee, providing they meet the following requirements: the facility is not booked by a fee paying user, the activity is open to everyone at no fee, there is no money exchanged, no fundraising, no donations accepted, no alcohol, and the event is advertised. If they do not meet all the requirements, they have to pay the $30 per hour rental fee. Nobleford property tax payers and residents get a 30% discount.

Barons-Eureka-Warner Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) and their associates are able to offer free programs with no strings attached because they meet the requirements and therefore do not pay a rental fee for use of the Complex. Village of Nobleford provides FCSS with the two meeting rooms on the main floor as well as pays $7000 annually to FCSS. The Nobleford property tax payer pays for this.

The Nobleford Community Complex Society helps fundraise for complex expenses such as their recent purchase of a 60-inch HD TV for the upstairs meeting room. Neither the Village of Nobleford nor the Nobleford Community Complex Society receive any operating grants.

The expenses for the Nobleford Community Complex in 2015 were $55,000 with $15,000 in revenue ($3000 from Ag Growth/Twister, AGI corporate support). The deficit of $40,000 was paid by you, the Village Tax payer

Mayor’s Message

Sitting down to write this, I suddenly realized that summer is officially over. Gone! Kaput! Finished!

Where did it go? I’m sure most of us are asking that same question…and lamenting on all the things we were

going to do this summer and…

But some things just go ahead and get done.

The new pavement on Highway Avenue looks great. We decided to pave it this year because of the

uncertainty of the upcoming “carbon tax” and how it would affect a project such as this. The fact that a

Provincial grant to cover the total cost was available was also a factor. Our “Main Street” is now ready to

stand up to the heavy traffic it receives for another few years.

Railway Avenue North, from 12th street to the Transfer Station will be closed off as the twinning of the sewer

line takes place in the next few weeks. We will have to take Highway Avenue North and make the circuitous

route via the angle road in order to get to and from the Transfer Station. A nuisance to be sure, but well

worth it in the grand scheme of things.

The new school year is well underway and we have young people coming and going on every street at all

hours, seemingly from every direction. PLEASE, BE CAREFUL! One traffic accident is too many.

Slow down! Think about safety!

Think also about safety as it relates to you, your neighbors, your Village. If something in your neighborhood

seems out of place, talk about it. Talk to someone about what you see. Call 911 if you think you should. The

service is there to help protect us. Use it but don’t abuse it. Keep Nobleford safe.

Keep your pets safe as well. I see far too many cats wandering the Village. Your cat should be with you. You

are responsible for it. Cats’ worst enemies are vehicles and disease. They have no defence against a car or

truck. They are usually safe from disease if kept at home. Cats and dogs require a licence from the Village

that helps getting them returned should they wander. Please be a responsible pet owner.

Thanks again to everyone in Nobleford for keeping their property looking so good. A beautiful Village to be

sure. Well done.

What’s in store for our Nobleford Centennial in 2018?

NOBLEFORD COMMUNITY COMPLEX SOCIETY is partnering with the Village on “Paint The Complex” project, inside and out, including a new ceiling and some doors and hardware. Lethbridge County has already committed $9000 for this projectand the Village will match this $9000 funding. A provincial grant is also being applied for.

NOBLEFORD PARKS AND RECREATION SOCIETY project consists of approximately 12 (4ft x 4ft) Metal Legacy silhouette plate displays with feature lighting in Centennial Park, new walkways, and Charles Noble historical pedestal area enhancement. Parks and Recreation Society intends to raise $20,000 and has some funds already raised. The Village will match up to $20,000, pending a minimum $20,000 grant.

LEGION Pavilion in Centennial Park: plan is for a 600 sq ft maintenance free, concrete and metal building with power, lighting, signage, and memorial plaques to honor the Legion and veterans. Nobleford Legion has a $30,000 legacy already in place and the Village will match up to $30,000, pending a minimum $30,000 grant.

CENTENNIAL SOCIETY project is Centennial Park overhead lights. The society intends to raise $10,000 cash and the Village will match up to $10,000, pending minimum $10,000 grant, for a minimum of 4 overhead LED Park lights in Centennial Park.

CENTENNIAL SOCIETY is writing and will publish a history book and is organizing events.

These projects will only be realized by cash raised from various sources. They need and welcome your cash donations.

Nobleford Village Council has pledged nearly $70,000 in matching funding support, and other administration support from the Village under policy #02-22 for Community Initiatives projects. The Village Council does not use Municipal tax dollars collected from you for any of these projects. Municipal funding comes from subdivision profits. Nobleford has had the lowest property tax in Alberta for a number of years and compared to the average property taxation since 2008, has left an average of over $10,000 in each residential property owners pocket and even more for industrial, commercial and farmland property owners….. Consider directing this money left in your pocket to projects in Nobleford.

Wisdom and good timing applies to everything we say and do

throughout our daily lives. There is a connection between

wisdom and limiting what and how much we say. Properly

timed well spoken words can be encouraging and comforting

but even the right words spoken at the wrong time can bring

hurt, discontent and shame to others. In the bible in Eccles. 3:7

we read “There is a time to keep silent and a time to speak.” It

is often wiser to remain silent, just as the old owl referred to

in the short poem written years ago by an anonymous writer:

A wise old owl sat in an Oak;

The more he saw the less he spoke,

The less he spoke the more he heard;

Why can’t we all be like that wise old bird?

Infant baptism of Layne John William, son of Ken and

Michelle Hofman, was held on July 31, 2016 during the

morning worship service.

Congratulations to Brent and Virginia (nee Kush) Maler on the birth of their second child Victoria Lynn on August 4, 2016. Grandparents

are George and Josephine Kush.

Thank you to all those who supported the sale of lunch at the auction sale of Chris and Vicki DeJong. Over $900.00 was raised for the

Burkina Faso Farm Project Mission Fund.

Maartin Warmink passed away on August 15, 2016 at the age of 90 years. Maartin, son of Gerrit Sr. and Elsie Warmink, was born on

September 30, 1925 in Monarch, AB and was raised in the Monarch/Kipp areas. He was baptized as an infant in the Monarch Reformed

Church and remained an active member of the Monarch Church until his marriage to Adeline Fox on March 5, 1954. Maartin and Adeline

made their home in Ferndale, Washington, USA where they raised their family of three children. Maartin was a brother to the late Hank,

Albert, John, and Gerrit Warmink, Bertha Schiebout, Marie Brown, and Elsie Townsend, and many extended family members live in the

Southern Alberta area.

Dena Neevel, nee Williamson, passed away on September 6, 2016 at the age of 95 years. Dena, daughter of John and Hendrika Williamson,

was born on November 12, 1920 in Conrad, Montana, USA. The family roots were in the Monarch area but they moved several times then

in 1941 they moved from Aldergrove, B.C. back to Monarch and the Monarch Reformed Church. Dena was an active member of the

Monarch church until her marriage to Lester Neevel on August 17, 1948. They made their home in the Lynden, Washington, USA area

where they raised their family of three children.

GRASS and COMPOST primary dump site is at the Nobleford Waste Transfer Site (WTS) North Railway Avenue, open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The secondary, GRASS disposal site for Nobleford residents on Highway Avenue is only to be used when WTS is closed. Please dump grass on far north part of the site, and dispose bags in barrels.




What’s in store for our Nobleford Centennial in 2018? (continued)

$$$ The Village will be working to acquire Federal Grants to fund special Centennial activities. You are welcome to propose activities that you think would be appropriate. Please

submit written proposals to the Village office by October 28, 2016. Your proposal should include a plan and description of the activity, costs for it, who would host and do the activity,

and how the activity would take place. Email your proposal to [email protected].

Project Updates: Paving overlay of Highway Avenue is COMPLETE. Approved $148,000 grant from Provincial Government (MSI).

No tax in 2018. Nobleford residential property owners will have a TAX FREE year on the Municipal portion of taxes. Nobleford put money in reserve savings a few years ago to allow for this.

Some volunteers are building a bicycle motocross track (BMX track) out by the grass clipping disposal area on Highway Ave. If you would be interested in being involved, please call the Village office, 403-824-3555.

Ongoing is twinning of the Railway Avenue sewer line to the sewage lagoon, reconstruction of the road, and paving in 2016-2017 at a cost of over 1 million dollars, funded by a Provincial grant, Nobleford property tax, and a local improvement levy.

* SEPTEMBER a month of new beginnings but also a precursor to the season of autumn. The autumnal equinox arrived on September

20th. It has been said that “September is the second new year of the year”. There is some truth to that as a new school year is underway.

It is a “first” for many whether that is attending school for the first time; attending a secondary educational facility; facing a classroom of

students for the first time; it can all be a cause for apprehension. To everyone concerned with “firsts” we pray that you will be blessed in

the decisions you have made.

* Signs of autumn are evident. Trees and plants are no longer providing sustenance for the foliage they once portrayed during the summer.

The country side is constantly changing in color and also taking on a rather stark appearance as the leaves of red, yellow and orange lose

their once firm grip on the tree branches; slowly wafting to the ground. Another sign that autumn is here is the completion of the harvest.

God promised in His Word “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will

never cease” – Gen. 8:22

* Church programs also begin in September of each year. Commissioning Sunday for all church council members, teachers, leaders,

counselors and volunteers was held on Sept. 11th. “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength” – Phil 4:13

* GEMS began the upcoming season with a Mom/Daughter kick off at the Corn Maze on Sept. 19 th while the CADETS will have their

first meeting of the season on Monday, Oct. 3rd at 6:45 p.m.

* COFFEE BREAK AND STORY HOUR begins a new season on Wed., Oct. 12th from 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Women and pre-school children from the community and surrounding area are invited to a time of Bible Study. Nursery is provided.

* DVBS was another success this year. Many thanks to the coordinator and her assistants who taught the children that attended. A fun

time was had by all.

* On Monday, Oct. 10th, we will observe Thanksgiving Day with a worship service at 10:00 a.m. May we ever be thankful for the blessings

we daily receive from our Heavenly Father – for family, friends, health, our work, our country and the freedoms we enjoy. We are truly

blessed.

* The congregation continues to support and pray for the family of Jason and Susy Konynenbelt who continue to mourn the recent loss of

their 16 year old son, Clinton. “The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms.” – Deut. 33:27

* Congratulations to Eric and Lynn Konynenbelt with the birth of their first child, Levi Eric, on Aug. 8 th.

Seniors’ Events Hello Seniors,

We are now into Fall, but the trees have turned colour and been shedding leaves for a couple of weeks already and the

weather can’t make up its mind for warmth or cold. We had hoped to give you some news for Remembrance Day and a

combined effort of the Seniors and the Historical Society for this event, but due to illness we have no news yet. Please

check the Board by the post office, anything will be published there.

We have had a successful Cornroast and a very good turnout of members who enjoyed the food and company. A big

thankyou to all the members who cooked the food and supplied the goodies.

As you may have noticed, we have had a new surface put down on the parking area and very smart it looks too.

We will be starting our Pancake Breakfast again on the 4th Wednesday of September and say thank you already to the

stalwart men who provide it every month.

We are still looking for some new members to swell our ranks, as the old guard seems to get older and frailer. So please

give us a try and spend a morning or afternoon at our meetings: Tuesdays for Crafting, Wednesdays for Coffee, Chat or

Games, and Fridays Pool for the men. It does not commit you to anything and you might even like it.

Is Your Exterior Water Meter Reader Properly Located? The current requirement is that the exterior water meter reader must be mounted on the building and easily visible, on the front or within 2 meters of the front of your house or building closest to the street, and not behind any gate or obstructions. If your reader is not properly located, you may be subject to a penalty starting January 1, 2017. The Village will provide you with whatever length of wire is required for you to string between the water meter in your house to the reader location outside of your house. It is up to you to string this wire. If you require assistance to make the wire connection to the meter and the reader, the Village staff is available to provide instructions.

Noble Central School - Blades Banter

Noble Central expanding horizons in many ways

The new school year brings a whole new world of experiences to both Noble Central School and the broader community, thanks in large part to the exciting arrival of five Grade 11 students from Brazil.

This is the first time we’ve welcomed students to Noble Central from Palliser Regional Schools’ international program, and I’m thrilled with the warm welcome they’ve received and the energy they’ve injected in our school.

The three young men and two young women were recently introduced to North American football as part of our Phys Ed program, and they’ve brought their vocal talents to our choir. A couple of them will be playing on Blades sports teams this year, and you’ll see them out with their host families immersing themselves in our community and culture. They are seeing first-hand the beauty of rural southern Alberta life and will, later this year, join us on field trips to have a more urban Alberta experience.

The warm welcome they’ve received and their quick integration into Noble Central life is a testament to our school’s family atmosphere and our committed and supportive community. These students are experiencing international travel for a first time, but the cultural exchange works both ways. They are sharing with us their culture and knowledge. The timing couldn’t be better. We all had such an interest in Brazil during the Olympics and now we have a bit of Brazil right here at school.

This school year we welcomed back all of our existing staff and two new teachers, reflecting our school’s growth. In response to feedback from our students and parents, we’ve added several new options in our high school including

computers, choir and outdoor education. In second semester, we’ll have a Sports Leadership program for junior and senior high students, providing leadership and learning opportunities for all students, whether they are athletic or not.

Adding to this excitement is the ongoing progress with our modernization project. Please watch our school sign for upcoming events when you’ll have an opportunity to visit the school, meet our new

students and reconnect with staff. We’d love to have you join us as we continue to grow along with the Village of Nobleford.

Nobleford Community Complex

The air-conditioned Nobleford Community Complex gym is available for rent with a 478 person capacity, a licensed kitchen equipped to serve 300, microwave, fridge, cooler, ice freezer, 2 stoves, and commercial dish sanitizer. Athletic equipment such as basket ball and volleyball equipment is included in rental. The upstairs meeting room is equipped with fridge, microwave, and sink, for gatherings up to 60 people. A quality permanent BOSE Public Address system (15 speakers) is available for all users. Microphone, cables and stands are available at the Village office. You may plug your mp3 player, cell phone, laptop, or cd player into the south wall mini amplifier ¼” outlets (1/8” adapter available) and be sure to set selector accordingly. Complimentary internet is provided by PLATINUM. This is a NO SMOKING public facility. Those smoking are responsible for damages and subject to prosecution.

The Centennial Society once again participated in HERITAGE DAY by entering a float in the

to Wes and Teresa Hofman for allowing us to use the buggy once again! Members from the

Centennial Society also ran a concession in the Community Complex on Heritage Day; thank you

to everyone who supported us.

THANKSGIVING COMMUNITY & FAMILY CELEBRATION: By now, many of you have

seen the posters and received the mail out for the Thanksgiving Community & Family Celebration

Night. I hope you have this night marked on your calendar! The Centennial Society in partnership with FCSS is hosting a free ham dinner

with family games and activities at the Nobleford Community Complex on Friday, October 7th from 5:00-8:00 pm. Donations for the

Centennial celebrations will be gratefully accepted. If you are willing to help with the games, please call Lee at 403-892-4929.

Fall greetings to you all! It’s hard to believe summer is

nearly over!

Heritage Day was a very busy day for Museum

members. The membership put in a float in the parade and

record attendance at the Museum was seen afterward. Our

special exhibit “Auto Memorabilia,” including a toy car

collection. garnered much interest.

While the details haven’t been hammered out yet, the

Museum will be open on Remembrance Day. Please keep

your eyes out closer to the date for information.

Regular meetings are held the first Monday of each month

at 7:30 pm at the Museum (225 Milnes St.). Our next

meeting will be October 3rd, 2016.

What is the Origin of my Street’s Name??

KIPP (Kipp Street):

CORRECTION – There is some discrepancy in the information related to

the hamlet of Kipp. In the March newsletter, I reported that the

development obliterated much of the hamlet. The main street of Kipp

was originally the “Red Route” which eventually became Highway 3.

In the 1960s, Highway 3 was widened and changed to bypass the

hamlet and its’ remaining buildings. Thank you Marguerite for the edit!

NOBLE (Noble Street):

Named after the Noble family, whose patriarch, Charles Sherwood Noble, is

known as our village’s founder.

ALBERTA (Alberta Avenue):

Presumably named after our province.

**I have been unable to find information on the name origin of GLEN

Street, if you have any leads, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

2016 Summer Fun at the Nobleford

Community Complex (not “Blue

Whale”) was enjoyed by many of you this year. This

program was offered FREE of

charge to the users. This program was subsidized by the Village

property tax payer in the amount of near $7000. FCSS made a $1500 contribution. The Village does accept donations from you. If you feel that this is a valuable program, or NOT, please express your comments to

RCMP welcomes your reports on any issue of concern. You can report activities such as traffic vehicle speeding, driving on sidewalks around speed bumps, failing to stop for stop signs, or cell phone operation while driving. Please try to get identification of the vehicle and license plate as well as driver id if possible. YOU can remain anonymous.

RCMP advises you to keep your vehicles and building doors locked.

WATER FACTS: A regular flush toilet uses 4 gallons per flush. In Nobleford, each flush costs less than 1 cent.

GARBAGE: Please be responsible and only place your garbage by your property and not someone else's!

BURNING: The only open outdoor fire allowed is a camp style fire in a fire ring. You are liable for damages from your fire.

NSF Cheques: Writing a Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) cheque to the Village will cost you $100.

New Fundraising Opportunity for Noble Central School! Shortly, parents will be receiving a package about a great new opportunity

for the school. NCS has partnered with Fundscript to provide you with the opportunity of purchasing a variety of gift cards at face

value with a percentage of each gift card purchased going to the school. If, for example, you have a birthday coming up and want to

WHAT ARE MY PROPERTY TAX DOLLARS USED FOR? ($440,000 is collected in taxation) $320,000 goes to Alberta School Foundation, $16,000 to senior housing and $100,000 to the Village of Nobleford. Nobleford will spend and raise over 2 million dollars in a 2016 balanced budget. Nobleford received $350,000 in provincial grants. Council strives to cost recover, or profit, on most areas in order to subsidize others such as; in 2015 the Community Complex cost $55,000 to operate and revenues were $15,000 resulting in a $40,000 deficit; we anticipate increased revenues for 2016; Protective services / fire department costs $125,000 to over 300,000 per year in operations, including major capital equipment; these costs are shared with Lethbridge County.

2016 property taxes were due payable to the Village before August 31, 2016. Unpaid Tax penalty of 12% is applied in September and January. If you anticipate payment issues, please meet with the Village CAO to discuss options.

How do I get my concerns heard at a Council meeting?

The Village has a bylaw governing council meetings.

All Nobleford Council meetings are open to the public. Regular Council meetings are the 1

st and 3

rd Tuesdays

at 6:30 pm each month.

The agenda for each regular and special meeting is prepared by the CAO in consultation with the Mayor and submitted together with copies of all pertinent correspondence, statements and reports, to each member of council at least two business days prior to each meeting (Friday).

Any member of council, town official, or any other person wishing to have an item of business placed on the agenda shall make the submission to the CAO not later than 4:00 PM on the Thursday prior to the meeting.

The submission shall contain adequate information to the satisfaction of the CAO to enable council to deal with the matter.

There is also a 15 minute session at the beginning of each regular council meeting where you can come and make presentation.

All presentations are recorded and become part of the minutes and public record.

SPEED BUMPS - You can be fined up to $543.00 for driving on the sidewalk!

The Village places speed bumps in residential neighborhoods because some people choose to drive dangerously and too fast. Some people now chose to drive up on the sidewalk beside the

speed bump. YOU WILL BE CHARGED AND FINED by the RCMP for this activity.

If you witness this activity please report to the RCMP or Village office. Any identification would be appreciated such as a picture of

vehicle and License plate number.

NCCS 2016 Scholarship Program The Community Complex Society invites all school age chil-

dren who reside in Nobleford to make application for the 2016 scholarship.

Tell us what you’d like to participate in (program, course, training, sports, dance, arts, etc.)

by emailing us: [email protected].

Please include your name, age, and details (who, what, when, where, and why you want the scholarship). Parents can help with the email but the youth must be prepared to meet with a panel of

3 society members to tell us all about it.

Applications will be accepted until October 20th.

Sewer Cleaning: If you have a blocked sewer line, PLEASE notify the Village. Village crews will clean your blocked sewer line for a $40 fee. After regular work hours, the cost is $100 and only if staff is available.

The NOBLEFORD NEWSLETTER is an information bulletin published by the Village of Nobleford on a cost recovery basis through advertisement fees and donations.

Please email your newsletter submission to [email protected] at the Village Office.

The Newsletter is published bimonthly, for the 1st of February, April, June, August, October, and December. The deadline for submissions is the 20

th day of the month prior to publication. The newsletter is circulated in print and via

email, and is available on the web at www.nobleford.ca. Late submissions will not be published.

Rates for ads and announcements -No Charge for Nobleford Societies and Organizations for ¾ of a page. Special requests for additional space at no charge must be made to the CAO so possible approval can be made in advance of each submission due date.

-No charge for brief, business card size, citizen announcements related to Nobleford area. -All submissions shall contain contributor name. -Business card $10.00, ¼ page $20.00, ½ page $35.00, full page $60.00, plus GST.

Nobleford Business License, NO FEE — The Village of Nobleford requires all businesses, including home businesses,

to register for a business license but with no fee required, and they will receive a license certificate as well as be added to the business list on the website with potential for enhanced services. All door to door solicitation requires a business license as well so please notify the village office of any unlicensed activities.

TRAFFIC BYLAW REVIEW is currently taking place with Council considering the following changes:

The 30kmph school zone, including Rubie Street to Kipp street, will become a permanent 24/7 30 kmph zone.

Vehicle parking on residential streets will be limited to maximum 1 ton and 8 meters (26ft) total length.

RV and Trailers over 1 ton and 8 meters may park on streets up to 24 hours and must be hitched at all times.

RV parking will be allowed on your property up to the SIDEWALK, providing hitch is 1 meter set back.

NO School Bus or Semi parking will be allowed in Residential areas on streets or private property.

Bus routes will not be allowed in Residential neighborhoods unless designated pickup locations are authorized. Here are some of the community responses so far:

1. Agree with 30 km 24-7 by school. Should have 30 kmph limit in some residential areas as well. 2. Agree with 30 km speed by school but only 6 am till midnight although sees that maybe 24/7 is easier to keep track of. 3. Support for no semi parking in residential area and thinks its been a long time coming as they are noisy and release

strong fumes. Fine semis more than $25; maybe double it on repeat offences. 4. Leave semi parking as is, even allow to park on street, it’s not hurting anything. 5. Allow semi in back alley driveways or parking or garage, then people with a semi have the option to buy a house with an

alley. 6. Agree with RV Trailer parking 1 m back from sidewalk, even thinks it should be 2 meters. 7. Expressed thoughts that RV parking should be allowed up to sidewalk but on discussion, understood the hitch concern

and supported the setback. 8. Suggest only 1 trailer allowed per property in front of the house but maybe more on the side or back is acceptable. 9. Feedback that trailers in front of houses are unsightly and people should park in back or side driveways, not by the street. 10. Concerns over application to business trailers, like construction trailers, that park and move every 24 hours. 11. Suggest no vehicles with tandem axel with drive, tandem RV trailer is ok. 12. Questions regarding application of traffic bylaw to delivery trucks and moving trucks in residential areas. 13. Suggestion that school busses should not be in residential areas, parked or driven. Recommend to set up a bus stop

area in the school grounds off Highway Avenue. Kids walk to school so they could walk to a bus at school. It’s safer. Could make use of the nice turnaround at the school by the led sign purchased with tax dollars. Expressed thoughts that maybe then some parents would send their kids to Nobleford School instead of bussing them out.

14. Suggestion to have school bus pickup at Community Complex ONLY, driving in and out on Kipp Street only. There would be less traffic issues in the mornings as busses hold up traffic in Nobleford when residents go to work every day.

15. Parent enjoys having the school bus pick their kids up at their house. Added that the village should make sure snow is plowed by 7 am.

16. Concerns over people driving on Highway Avenue using their cell phones and what can be done about it. 17. Suggestion to get a speed radar sign set up more often, that it helped slow traffic. 18. Suggestion that RCMP should have radar every week by the school. 19. Suggestion to make all the signs at turns onto Highway Avenue yield signs as mixing them with stop signs is not fair. 20. Suggestion to ticket people for parking in front of a driveway.

FIBER OPTIC INTERNET Allows for

The Village of Nobleford Municipal Office is fully

connected to the AXIA fiber (25 mbps $99 pm).

A VOIP (internet phone) system was installed and

fully operational as of July, resulting in a near $2000 per year annual saving

over the Telus 2 line system. Our Phone and Fax numbers

remained the same. AXIA is currently upgrading the Village office with some hi tech features and 1 gig demonstration opportunity

in the future.




The Nobleford Parks & Recreation Society has collaboratively been working with the Village of Nobleford and other

organizations on projects that will enhance Centennial Park in time for Nobleford’s Centennial 2018 Celebrations.

The Society invites you to be a SPONSOR of the $60,000 Legacy Lane development in Centennial Park. Ten 3’x4’ metal,

powder coated, silhouette plates erected on 7’ metal framed stands complete with lighting, will honor events, people and

organizations that have contributed to building the community over the past 100 years. Each legacy plate will have a

plaque explaining the images’ significance, creating social interaction between people of all ages.

The Society has been successful in applying for a CFEP (Community Facility Enhancement Program) Grant from the

office of Alberta Culture and Tourism. Your contribution and others will be matched by the Village of Nobleford (under

Policy#02-22) and the CFEP grant, thus multiplying every dollar you donate. Cheques made payable to Nobleford Parks

& Recreation Society, can be mailed to the above address or dropped off at the Village office. All contributors will be

recognized on permanent signage at the site.

To date, the Society has: raised $3,400 cash, a commitment of donated labour and materials, and financial support from the

Lethbridge County (Land Trust Reserve Fund). Approval on several other Grants is pending.
