Harold Lashmit moved to Bermuda Villagein December 2010, from Pfafftown, NC.

He has lived most of his life in North Carolina, being born and raised in Yadkin County.

Harold attended college at Appalachian State Teachers College (now Appalachian State

University). He began his career at RJ ReynoldsTobacco Company in the Production Department

and eventually moved into Research andDevelopment. He retired from Reynolds in 1988

as a Senior Lab Technician.

Harold also served in the United States Army, earning the rank of Specialist 5.

He was stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He is a lifetime member of the disabled

Veterans of America.

Harold enjoyed ballroom dancing with his wife of nearly 48 years, Jerleene.

Sadly, Jerleene passed away in 2009.

Harold enjoys reading, working with computers and cultural events. He says that he visited manycommunities before making his decision to move

to Bermuda Village. He decided to make Bermuda Village his home

because of “the outstanding, most friendly staff”along with the “most friendly neighbors”

he has ever met.
