VIKTORIYA DEVICHEVA
Vik Devie (Viktoriya Devicheva) is a bright and resourceful designer with a fine taste rooted in sustainable consciousness. She prefers a pen over a keyboard. Priori-tizes quality, aesthetic and local production. Values efficiency and simplicity. Design deci-sions are followed by the assessment of lon-gevity, topicality, and eco/ health-friendliness of an object and interior. Considers that travel-ing can only be assessed by the experience of local food, markets, crafts and sightseeings. Vik has practiced interior design since 2008. She grew up in Russia and studied design at the State University of Russia and UCLA. Her design approach is rooted in her
plural upbringing, intercontinental experience and astute eye for visual culture. Vik’s work explores industrial design and fine craftsman-ship inspired by fashion and travelling. While in LA, she has collaborated with eco design company RC GREEN and has contributed to green furniture design, renovations of health-ier living spaces, and educating high pro-file clientele on sustainable design options. She loves to read magazines from the back, watch french movies, make a fine dinner at home and dip croissants into coffee. To bal-ance her lifestyle she regularly practices yoga practice and meditation. Fluent in Russian.

design process:
Given a prime location on 57th street in a historical building, a unique structur-ally challenged interior was transformed into a luxurious Orogold cosmetic spa.
The initial plan to close off a mezza-nine level for private use was soon scrapped once the realization of a beauty bar ad-dition could add profitability and comple-ment the interior aesthetically. This and many other features make Orogold NY the most treasured and featured store of the chain.

In order to meet the client’s needs and to help clarify a prac-tical layout, a plan-ning diagram and grid were utilized. They were drafted to visualize proper con-nectivity of adjoin-ing spaces. While finalizing the layout, the sketch process was in place as well.

Once caught up in the modeling stage, it is hard to stop until the whole story is told.
While playing around with different materials and textures, the goal of this proj-ect was to create a feeling of splendor. After using only white paper and foam boards to create the architectural form, it felt like this color belonged to this proj-ect. By enriching it with glittering paint, the softness of felt, and accents of gold and copper the interior became harmonized.

A small space of 1000sqft was trans-formed into a styl-ish french clothing boutique Lovenci. Designed in a mono-chromatic palette, the interior was topped off with vibrant color accents in the ceiling trim and seating ar-eas. To enhance the display space, cus-tom cabinetry was designed that incor-porated hidden sys-tems to effi ciently ar-range merchandise and was fi nished with a glossy black coat.

design concept:
For this residential project, the goal was to create an atmosphere that manifested success and dedication. In addition, the space needed to be relaxing and welcom-ing. The layout was thoroughly planned to create privacy and divided areas even while avoiding the usage of doors. As a result, pieces of art became some of the partitions.
-Open space concept.-Eco friendly, natural materials for interior finishes and decoration.-A continued integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. -Clean lines.-Custom made furniture to complement the space.

The idea was to create an environment with minimum clutter and distraction. In order to create a natural and calming place, soft hues were chosen for the dominant palette and were complemented with dark earthy tones of fabrics.
Knowing the client’s passion for surfi ng, a custom surf stand installation was designed. It’s a piece of pride that displays the collec-tion of surfboards which immediately stand in splendor for those who enter the house and continue to be a focal point in the Public Affair Room.
