I went to LTJC twice with the US Army in between. In 1967, I married Sharon Forsman from LT’s class of ’65. We moved to Orlando, FL, then Fitzgerald, GA and then Peoria, IL before settling in Woodridge, IL 22 years ago. Now retired kind of. Rueban H. Donnelley Corporation. Last position with Donnelley was Corporate Training Manager. I finished my business studies at Cornell in Ithaca, NY in 1984. My wife, Sharon, is a church secretary in Lombard. Our children Scott and Erin, both Downers North graduates, now live in London and Tennessee respectively. Erin is married to a physician and lives in TN and has blessed us with four beautiful grandchildren. We always look forward to seeing them. My greatest memories are the school plays in my senior year and hamming it up for the senior class party. Then there was the Frankenstein makeup for the

(before retiring as a full professor) at McNeese State University in Lake Charles , Louisiana where she is currently living with Russell, her husband of 45 years and also a retired university professor. For many years she did international development work in Central and South America as this led to her dissertation on improving housing for the poor in these areas. She and her husband raise hundreds of camellias and azaleas and continue to travel to both ends of the earth and everything in between.

We lived two years in London, then moved to Denver (1971). We raised 2 daughters and spent 43 years in academics (me: neuroscience at CU Medical School; Joan: molecular biology at CU and Regis U). We are emeritus/a profs now. Our daughters (physicians) returned to Denver about 5 years ago. We live only a few blocks from them and their families (grandchildren 3,5,7, and 10 years old). Our mountain family compound - 3 adjacent cabins - hosts many fun times for winter and summer recreation.

After graduating from the University of Illinois, I began work in sales and within two years shifted to marketing, spending 25 years in the advertising agency business in Chicago, working with food clients like Kraft, Oscar Mayer and the National Dairy Board. Then in 1992, much to the surpirse of my family, friends and even myself, I made the decision (with some uncertainty) to attend the seminary to become a minister. Following graduation at McCormick Seminary in Hyde Park, my first call was to the First Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, Michigan. Some years later, our first grandson was born back in Illinois which drew us back to the Chicago area where I served at Kenilworth Union Church. At the present time, I am continuing my work in

the church as the interim Senior Pastor at St. Pauls Ucc in Lincon Park.

Over the years we have gone to LT'S reunions and RB'S reunions.  We almost started grade school together at St Barbara's in Brookfield. Over crowding meant that I went to Lincoln grade school because I was the 51st student out of 50.  So to make a long story short we met in eighth grade and I was her first date as a freshman at LT and she was at RB. We dated through high school and college and got married in 1967.  LT'S dismissal was a half hour before RB'S dismissal time. I used to race over to RB to drive Judy home. She graduated from DePaul university in 1965 in the field of education. I graduated from Butler university in 1966 in the field of pharmacy (pharmacy was a five year program then). We married in 1967.  We were high school sweethearts and college sweethearts. Six years in the U.S. Army and three children and three grandchildren have lead us to this point. We have a summer home in the upper peninsula of michigan and enjoy fishing boating and summer sports on Lac Vieux Desert lake with our growing family. I will send you a picture of the house and a 1981 280 ZX  in a moment.  I still hope the 1957 Chevy will be wired for the parade but if that does not work out I could drive a Mercedes Benz convertible in that parade. My life changed in 1961 – my dad died and Mom and I traded my 1954 Ford, the Copper Penny (Dad and I painted it), and my dad’s 1954 Buick Super, affectionatly called the “Mushroom” for my “HOT” 1957 stick shift Chevy convertible. After two years at LTJC, I graduated with an AA in Engineering and then spent three years at Argonne labs making big money ($100. per week). I was drafted into the Army and spent one year with the 101st Airborne Artillery followed by one year at the Walter Reed Institute of Research in Washington, D.C. working on a nuclear research reactor while my whole artillery unit went to Vietnam. I received an “early out” to go back to finish my Electrical

Engineering degree at California State University in 1970. After returning to Chicago for employment, I met Mary Church from Clarendon Hills at a party. We were married in 1975 and have two chilrden, Erik and Melissa. I spent eight years as an Engineering Manager at Hammond Organ Co. and 30 years at AT&T/Lucent Technologies. Retirement since late 2007 has been great. Our son is an IT Business Director Consultant and lives in Wilmette with his wife and three children. Our daughter is a math teacher at LT south campus and lives nearby with her husband who is an english teacher and a football coach also at LT. They have two children. I am so thankful to God for my family, my history and our Church, Christ Chuch of Oakbrook. It’s been a wonderful Life!

Never saw this coming when I was at LT! We have three grown Children John, Beth and Bill along with two grandchildren Allison and Clint, who all live in the Chicago area. In May 2005, we had an extrodinary thing happened. My father’s submarine, U.S.S. Lagarto, which was lost in WWII, was found in the Gulf of Thailand. It was the first missing submarine from that war to be found. Since then, four more missing subs have been found. Following the discovery, I worked with the others to notify families of the sub’s crew (86 sailors) of her discovery and organize a memorial service, which was held one year later. Over 200 family, friends and Navy Officials attended. The memorial received worldwide attention. I have written a book about the Lagarto’s crew and the incredible events that transpired after her discovery; I’m now working on getting it published. An Emmy Award winning documentary was made of this adventure in 2009. It is quite something. Anything else I have done in the past 50 years pales in comparison. After knowing almost nothing about the location of my father’s (SMI William Mabin, LT 1936) submarine or what caused it to go down, we now know after 60 years! It’s changed my life.

After LT I became a loyal Wisconsin Badger (BBA,MBA) and then served two years as a Deputy Finance Officer for the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. As a CPA, I worked 37 years as an auditor for Ernest & Young in their Chicago and New York National Office. I concluded my career as a Principal in the global office. For three years, I was the Technical Director of the SEC/AICPA Independence Board. On the personal side, I enjoy sailing on nearby Long Island Sound, playing golf, tennis and skiing. We have been blessed to have been on a number of wonderful trips, most recently to Istanbul, by way of Egypt and Israel. We are active in our church and in local civil, charitable and political organizations. Still loving history, I enjoy the wonderful colonial essence of New England and our town of Westport, CT, which was settled in 1648. He's a born and bred Marylander, a self-employed contractor, who is capable of building a whole house by himself.

Mostly he is a commercial waterman with a classic Chesapeake Bay deadrise workboat I get to be out on lots. This Midwestern girl now actually can help bait the trotlines for catching Maryland blue crabs and also drive while the captain is reeling in rockfish from the Bay.

I am a devoted beyond words mother of two incredibly wonderful sons, my consolation prizes from two very difficult marriages, gratefully long past, both to brilliant but troubled US Marines. I have been essentially a single mother for decades. My older amazing son, Billy, is a wonderful doctor - Board certified gastroenterologist-hepatologist, by way of Johns Hopkins U-U of AZ-U of VA, who has been in private practice in Wyoming since 2013. Billy and my lovely new daughter-in-law, Claire, a clinical pediatrics/oncology dietician, were married in April 2015 in Seville, Spain, where she had studied earlier in a UT-Austin program. Billy and Claire are expecting my very first grand-baby in April 2016!

My younger amazing son, Joey, my tall redhead, has this past year relocated to Wyoming from Annapolis, MD. While he figures out if he wants to go to journalism or law school (he was an English/pre-law major at U of AZ) and maybe coaching-bringing the great brand of Maryland lacrosse to Wyoming, Joey spends most waking hours after office work camping and fly-fishing Wyoming. My other "child," from a Wyoming ranch 2 years ago, is my mini-Australian Shepherd, Caspar Basque-er, hands down the smartest, most affectionate pet I've ever loved.

I retired at long last from my 30+ year federal government career in January 2014, pleased to say without scandal (not entirely joking!). My last position was as the Washington, DC based national IT portfolio manager including developing and maintaining web portal and accounting systems that supported administration of the educational benefit for service-connected disabled Veterans (notice I still can speak bureaucrat-ese). These men and women arguably comprise our country's most precious Veteran population. I dearly loved them but I don't miss USDVA a moment.

My two older brothers, Jim-LTHS '55 & Lee-LTJC '53 and sister-in-law, Joann-Hinsdale '53, are still doing well in Arizona. (I, too, lived there 1995-2005.) My incomparably talented mom, Marty, died at age 104 years old in 2013, truly a force of nature to the very end.

As a resident of the historic Baltimore maritime community of Fell's Point (you may know FP clipper ships and privateers saved the nation in the War of 1812), I am on the executive boards of

both the FP Community Organization and The Preservation Society of Federal Hill and FP, serving as volunteer property manager of the society's historic buildings including the 250 year-old Robert Long House-Baltimore's oldest urban home still in existence, and a to-be museum, the Captain's Hotel-- a 19th century brothel for seafarers!

I am working on restoring and renovating my own tiny 1830's FP rowhouse, 10' wide, 3-stories high with original winder stairs (my personal Stair Master workout). I plan to turn it into a live-above store for new and used books that I want to open in 2016. Despite Baltimore's ugly urban problems, burdensome taxes & costly utilities, grossly mis-managed city services (paradoxically, it's also my favorite place I've ever lived in); plus Kindle, Amazon, and Tweet-length attention-spans -- I think there's still an interesting life to be enjoyed owning a cozy, old-fashioned, bricks & mortar, neighborhood, full-service, indie bookstore. Pyewacket Books of Fell's Point, LLC ("come under the spell of a good book...") also will be a backdrop for the writing I intend to do next. At least, running Pye and writing may keep me out of trouble for the rest of the autumn season of my life.

IN MEMORIAM As we gather here to celebrate the wonderful memories of the Class of 1961 we must not forget those of us that have not survived this journey. We dedicate this reunion to those who have passed and cannot join us. In fifty-five years we have seen strife and war which have taken our fellow students from us and none more devastating than Viet Nam to this class of greatness. We fervently honor you for your ultimate sacrifice and we remember you for your passion and character.
