Role Summary

To be responsible for the on-going development of the Swansea Domestic Abuse One Stop Shop in conjunction with the Safer Swansea Partnership and with the lead organization, Hafan Cymru. To be responsible for the management of both the building and service delivery from the Swansea Domestic Abuse One Stop Shop and to promote the service widely.

The post holder will embody Hafan Cymru’s values and model appropriate behaviours at all times and in all areas of responsibility

Key Role Functions

Day to day leadership, co-ordination and delivery of the DAOSS services for the lead organisation and the Partnership Board.

Development and delivery of the service model within a solution focussed framework, identifying problems or areas for improvement and pro-actively seeking solutions and developments.

Work closely with the lead organisation and the Partnership Board to ensure sustainable development and delivery of this service.

Co-ordination of the activities delivered by agencies, staff and volunteers on behalf of the DAOSS.

To recruit, induct and coordinate the ongoing training of volunteers.

To supervise and appraise DAOSS administration staff and volunteers in line with policy and procedures.

Named safeguarding lead for the DAOSS in relation to POVA, MARAC and the Designated Child Protection Officer.

Coordination of policy development with the lead agency and Partnership Board.

Promotion and coordination of room hire at the DAOSS with responsibility for overseeing room bookings.

Co-ordination of website and social media updates.

Effective and positive external relationship management including representing the lead organisation and the DAOSS.

Develop, promote and embed the values, ethos and vision for excellence of the DAOSS service through service delivery and promotion of the service.

Day to day direction of the DAOSS service (including volunteers) to ensure they are appropriately and adequately resourced with qualified and motivated staff.

Identify both own and service training needs and work with lead organisation and Partnership Board to input into a service training plan to ensure appropriate and ongoing professional development.

Lead by example to demonstrate the lead organisation and DAOSS agreed codes of conduct to include working with enthusiasm and with a ‘can do’ attitude.

To exhibit personal leadership to support your role and its requirement for self-directing and self-managing with support from lead organisation and Partnership Board.

To ensure all systems and protocols are effective and deliver all required monitoring and reporting requirements in order to ensure delivery against all targets, outcomes and outputs required from your service area by stakeholders, e.g. funders, Partnership Board.

To ensure DAOSS services work seamlessly with DAOSS partner agency services, external partners and stakeholders. External as well as internal relationship management is one of the key elements to ensuring the service is effective and well utilised.

Ensure that all staff, volunteers and partners are aware of health and safety policy and procedures and that these are adhered to at all times.

Responsibility for the health and safety considerations of the DAOSS including risk assessments, accident and incident monitoring and recording.

Responsibility for maintenance management of the DAOSS.

In partnership with the DAOSS Partnership Board develop, implement and deliver a business plan / strategy for the DAOSS Service.

Identify and contribute to funding bids according to the strategic priorities of the DAOSS service to ensure sustainability of the service.

Reporting Responsibilities

The Domestic Abuse One Stop Shop (DAOSS) Manager will report directly to the Head of Policy, Communications & Marketing (Hafan Cymru) and will supply information as required by the Senior Management Team and Board of Management
