“Ramcharitmanas" of Tulsidas as part of the curriculum for undergraduate students and students of engineering will have to learn about Ramsetu which many in the saffron clan considers a feat of engineering. For the medical stream, students will be offered the option of studying medicine in Hindi. On the approval of the syllabus committee for higher education, " R a m c h a r i t M a n a s K e Vyavharik Darshan" (Applied philosophy of Ramcharitmanas) has been introduced as an elective course for first-year BA students from the academic session of 2021-22.

BJP is not only re-writing science but they are possibly rewriting every subject that will benefit their agenda. In early incidences references to Jawaharlal Nehru have been deleted from the new social science textbook for Class VIII. There was no mention of who India’s first prime minister was. The rewriting of history textbooks is an old priority of the Hindu nationalist movement.

In the 1970s, former Jana Sangh members in the Janata Party and the Morarji Desai government had asked for changes in textbooks. In May 1977, Desai has presented a memorandum that sought the withdrawal of four history books — of which three were intended for use in teaching — from public circulation. The books in question were Medieval India by Romila Thapar, Modern India by Bipan Chandra, Freedom Struggle by A. Tripathi, Barun De and Bipan Chandra, and Communalism and the Writing of Indian History by Romila Thapar, Harbans Mukhia and Bipan Chandra.

chief minister in 1995, the Gujarat State Board of School Textbooks published a Class IX social studies textbook in which Muslims, Christians and Parsis were presented as “foreigners”. It was also written that “in most of the states, the Hindus are a minority and the Muslims, Christians and Sikhs are in a majority”. A Class VIII social studies textbook also included a highly derogatory description of Christian priests: “The accumulation of power and wealth in the hands of the priests resulted in a perversion of the religion. Some of the priests became pleasure-loving and badly behaved.”

In the early 2000s, another social science textbook for Class X described Adolf Hitler in the following terms: “Hitler lent dignity and prestige to the German government within a short time by establishing a strong administrative set up. He created the vast state of Greater Germany. He adopted the policy of opposition towards the Jewish people and advocated the supremacy of the German race.

BJP Minister Satyapal Singh has said Darwin's theory was "scientifically wrong" since there are no witnesses to humans evolving from apes and it should be removed from science books.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat said all ancient civilisation such as Mahenjodaro, Harappa and our culture developed in places which are now in Pakistan. "Why didn't Pakistan tell (India) to take another name since everything of 'Bharat' has emerged from here. So we are 'Bharat' and you take any other name. They did not say this and rather wanted to separate from the name 'Bharat'. Because they know that with the name 'Bharat', Hindutva comes in. And Hindutva is there, so is ‘Bharat’. Gog knows what BJP is going to gain out of all this drill of changing the history and introducing mythology to engineering students.

The memorandum criticized these works above all for not condemning forcefully enough certain Muslim rulers — including Aurangzeb — and emphasizing that freedom struggle leaders such as Bala Gangadhar Tilak and Aurobindo were partly responsible for the antagonism between Hindus and Muslims.

However, the BJP succeeded in changing parts of textbooks in the state they formed a government in the 1990s. After BJP leader Keshubhai Patel took over as

students and parents as well as authorities

School students carry heavy school Bags .We can publish Quarterly Text Books instead of Annual Text Books comprising lessons taught in a Quarter.

Each Quarter students carry Text Book meant for that Quarter.

Even Note Books can be made Quarterly . Thus the load of school Bag is reduced considerably. All the schools may be instructed accordingly.

I have written to School Authorities in different countries, for implementation.

Govt is penny wise & pound foolish

Railways refusal to issue daily tickets sans logic when govt has allowed fully vaccinated people to commute by local trains. Why should one buy a monthly pass when you are required to travel for a single journey or two. The railways are trying to make hay while the sun

shines by forcing commuters to buy monthly pass which is nothing but an avenue of making money to make good the loss they have incurred during the pandemic.

Most people have lost jobs & source of revenue. Daily tickets should be issued to fully vaccinated citizens if they need to travel on locals. Govt is penny wise & pound foolish by not issuing daily tickets as thousands of commuters are forced to travel 'ticket-less' & only a few get caught by TCs as it is difficult to check every commuter on locals or at exit points.

First salaryBeing economically self-reliant is a

wonderful feeling. The people who say that money can’t buy you happiness is wrong. If money can’t buy you happiness then why do the poor people cry in hunger?. We are living in the 21st century and this is not the time to be philosophical but real. When more than half of our population reels under poverty, we cannot afford to blurt out quotes like “Money can’t buy you happiness”. The words “First Salary” ring a sweet tune in all of us. It means that we have reached that stage in life when life actually becomes “life”. The life

before that was just a trailer to get us excited for “life”. I received my first salary this month, which is a different feeling altogether. You feel like you can now discuss serious stuff with your father over a cup of tea. You feel grown up and responsible. I am a wristwatch freak and I own more 12 pieces but the one I bought with my own money this month will always be special. Gifting someone from your first salary is a different level of feel goodness, the satisfaction you get from gifting someone you love from your first salary is unmatchable to anything in this world. We should always buy anything that makes us happy because we only live once.

Universal truthJoseph Kallarangatt, Bishop of Syro

Malabar Church in Kerala, stated that "Christians are being ensnared by 'Love Jihad' and 'Narcotic Jihad'." So what did Bishop Kallarngatt say wrong? ‘Love Jihad’ is a universal truth. No one can deny it. In Kerala, along with love jihad, 'Narcotic jihad' is now on the rise. The media is silent after Christian dharmguru made statements against 'Love Jihad' and 'Narcotic Jihad'. If the Hindu religious leaders had made this statement,

they would have made a issue of this. So much so, however, that the Christian community has become aware of jihad. When will Hindus in India become aware of this?

- Sagar Shirodkar

Dare to mockThe title of the movie 'Ravan Leela',

which will be released on October 1, its panel, some dialogues in its 'trailer', as well as its 'tagline' have been found to have misrepresented Shriram and Ravana. About spreading misconceptions about Shri Rama and exalting Ravana, as well as making derogatory and offensive portrayal Shri. Kamlesh Gupta sent the notice to the writer, director and producer of the film. It is a shame for millions of Hindus that a film like 'Ravan Leela' is made in India. Today, because Hindus are not united, filmmakers, directors, actors, etc. dare to mock Hindu deities. These same people never dare to make such parody in the context of other religions.

one in a thousand suffer from Keratoconus, in which the corona becomes conical shape and thus blurring the vision. In some cases, teenage boys get this peculiar intervention causing problems to their regular vision. Keratoconus, often abbreviated to “KC”, is a non-inflammatory eye condition in which the normally round dome-shaped cornea steadily and progressively thins causing a cone-like bulge to develop. This results in significant visual impairment.

The cornea is the clear window of the eye and is responsible for refracting most of the light coming into the eye. Therefore, abnormalities of the cornea severely affect the way we see the world making simple tasks, like driving, watching TV or reading a book difficult. In its earliest stages, keratoconus causes slight blurring and distortion of vision and

increased sensitivity to glare and light. These symptoms usually first appear in the late teens and early twenties. Keratoconus may progress for 10-20 years and then slow or stabilize.

Each eye may be affected differently. Eyeglasses or soft contact lenses may be used to correct the mild nearsightedness and astigmatism caused in the early stages of Keratoconus. As the disorder progresses and the cornea continues to thin change shape, rigid gas permeable contact lenses are generally prescribed to correct vision more adequately. The contact lenses must be carefully fitted, and frequent checkups and lens changes may be needed to achieve and maintain good vision. In severe cases, a corneal transplant may be needed due to scarring, extreme thinning or contact lens intolerance.

This is a surgical procedure that replaces the keratoconus cornea with healthy donor tissue. In Metro cities like Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkota the sufferers of Keratoconus get the cure by regular treatment. For this yearly check-up is a must to find out the position of corona now and then.

he Intelligence Bureau Tand Delhi Police Special Cell has now turned its

pointblank eye on the Pakistani camp in Thatta. The ISI module was busted by the IB & Central territory Police Force in a Joint action. The Special Service groups and the inter services wing of the ISI had trained the militants to create an extreme attack of terrorism in Mumbai. Two of the six men arrested in the current operation had been taken by their Pakistani recruiters to a camp in the same area along with another two dozen draftees via the sea route from Muscat according to investigators. Thatta has been in the scanner of Indian intelligence for being home to training camps for the Jaish-e-Mohammed and other Pak backed terror groups. It is also a wellknown launchpad for trained Militancy.

The investigation and the interrogation of suspects has not only revealed details of how Pakistan Army train recruits from India and Bangladesh but i t has a lso exposed an altogether new route adopted by ISI to admit the draftees into Pakistan and the Afghanistan-

Pak region. The Joint Inter Services Wing Agents were tracking a Delhi youth named Mohammad Osama alias Sami, since April end when he left the India. The review of his passport and travel details show that Osama left for Muscat, in Oman on 22nd April by Salaam Air flight from Lucknow. After reaching in Muscat Osama was summoned to a flat where he met another man named Zeeshan who had reached there from Prayagraj in UP (also in custody). They were soonly joined by 15-16 Bangladeshi nationals. They were divided into sub groups. Zeeshan and Osama accustomed themselves in the same group. "Over the next few days the recruits made several short sea journeys, changing boats a number of

times. They were taken to a town named Jiwani near Gwadar port in Pakistan. The accused who are being interrogated by a special team led by ACP Lalit Mohan Negi and Hriday Bhushan have confirmed during questioning that their group was received by a Pakistani national after reaching Jiwani and then taken to a farmhouse in Thatta city in Sindh province. "There were three Pakistani nationals at the farmhouse says P ramod Kushwaha who is the DCP of Special Cell of the Capital.”

Kushwaha added saying “Two of them, Jabbar and Hamza, imparted training to the group. Both were from the Pakistan Army as evidenced by their military uniforms. The recruits were also taken to Karachi, the six arrested men have revealed. The training, which the recruits referred to as Askari or military course, lasted for around 15 days. They were trained in IED assembly and bomb making, apart from ways in which to carry out arson using items of daily use. They were also trained in handling small firearms and AK-47s. After the training, the group

was taken back to Muscat via the same route and then scattered as per the schedule decided by Anees Ibrahim. The investigators are now busy ascertaining what the module and sleeper cells have been up to in the last three months. Delhi Police has a confirmed a t i p o f f t h a t s e v e r a l consignments of armament were being dispatched to India as part of the operation. On Tuesday evening, the accused were jointly interrogated about a consignment of 100 pistols, cartridges, a tiffin bomb and five grenades dropped in Amritsar, Punjab, by a drone in August. Cops suspect the weapons and explosives was destined for members of this group. The tiffin bomb also had 2- 3kg of RDX. The arms, explosives and ammunition recovered in the current operation are being studied by experts to trace their source and the network.

Wednesday said the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff 'days after Pyongyang said it had launched a longrange cruise missile.'

The North has been building up its weapons program over the past few years after talks aimed at dismantling its nuclear and ballistic missile program broke down in 2019 over sanctions relief. t h e y a d d e d w i t h o u t immediately giving details of the missiles range. Japanese Coast Guard also said an object landed outside it exclusive economic zone that could be a ballistic missile fired from North Korea. 'The firings threaten the peace and safety of Japan and the region and are absolutely outrageous' said Suga. “The government of Japan is determined to further step up our vigilance and surveillance to b e p r e p a r e d f o r a n y contingencies” he said. Both Suga and South Korean P re s iden t Moon Jae i n convened sessions of their national security councils to discuss the launches according to their offices.

The foreign ministers of South Korea and China were holding talks in Seoul on Wednesday amid concerns over the recent missile test and the denuclearization negotiations between Pyongyang and Washington which have been stalled since 2019. The North is under international sanctions for its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs.

WHO to immunize African Union adly missing the 60 Bpercent vaccinat ion coverage goal that

African leaders had hoped he World Health Organization (WHO) and its partners have said they hope to provide Africa with about 30 percent of the COV ID -19 vacc ine s the continent needs by February.

Out of 5.7 billion doses of c o r o n a v i r u s v a c c i n e s administered around the world till now only 2 percent have been in Africa. The African continental union

accuses manufactures of Covid-19 shots of denying African nations a fair chance to buy them and urged manufacturing nations mainly Indians to lift export restrictions on vaccine and components.

“These manufacturers very well know they never gave us proper access” says Strive Masiyiwa, the AfroUnion Special Envoy for COVID-19 in a WHO briefing from Geneva. “We would have handled this very differently.” Yet the companies that manufacture the vaccines including Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna haven't shown indications they are eager to switch their current tactics which involve appealing to rich countries and their regulators to authorize booster shots. Masiyiwa stressing tha aiming to

vaccinate 60 percent of the population the African Union and its partners had expected to buy half the doses needed while half were expected to come as donations through the COVAX program backed by the WHO and the GAVI global vaccine alliance. “We just want access to purchase” he says. GAVI CEO S e t h B e r k l e y s a i d h i s organization had been counting on supplies from India the wor ld ' s l a rges t vacc ine manufacturing center at the start of the outbreak but had received no doses from India since March when India imposed export restrictions. Masiyiwa adds “The suppliers over the last eight to nine months have made it clear that the biggest challenge they face is export are restrictions.”

ISRO working on fleet of heavy lift rockets Future risk of ALS linked to blood lipoprotein levelshe Indian space agency Tis working on a fleet of

medium to heavy-lift rockets with a carrying capacity ranging from 4.9 ton to 16.3 ton, said a senior official.

The five rockets are in the project report stage and would come into operation in the future, said N Sudheer Kumar, Director, Capacity Building Programme Office ( C B P O ) , I n d i a n S p a c e Research Organisation (ISRO).

He was speaking at the I n t e r n a t i o n a l S p a c e Conference and Exhibition, o r g a n i s e d b y t h e Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in virtual mode recently.

When that happens ISRO can not only launch its own communication satellites but a l so en te r the g loba l

communication satel l i te launch market.

Kumar also said ISRO is work ing on upgrad ing Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle-Mk III (GSLV-Mk III) which can carry up to four ton to Geo Transfer Orbit (GTO).

Normally rockets eject the communication satellites into GTO. From GTO the satellites will be taken to geostationary

orbit by firing their engines.India uses Ariancespace's

Ariane rocket to orbit its communication satellites weighing over four-ton.

According to Kumar, ISRO is also working on upgrading the lifting capacity of GSLV-Mk III to six ton and 7.5 to GTO.

He said the six-ton lift capacity will be achieved by miniaturization of avionics, u p r a t i n g o f i t s t h re e stages/engines, structural mass optimisation and other means.

Kumar said ISRO is on the verge of realising its semi-cryogenic engine - engine fueled by pure kerosene- which will soon power GSLV-Mk III so that the rocket can carry 7.5-ton payload to GTO with an upgraded cryogenic engine.

he findings of a large Tepidemiology study pub l i shed recent ly

suggests that some blood lipid b i o m a r k e r s l i n k e d t o cardiovascular disease risk are also associated with a lower risk of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

The study was published online in the Journal of Neurology Neurosurgery and Psychiatry.

ALS is the commonest form of motor neuron disease - a progressive nervous system disease that destroys nerve cells responsible for voluntary movement such as walking and talking.

Single gene factors drive only a minority of cases of ALS, and in the remainder, the causes of the condition are not well understood. Lower weight, higher levels of strenuous physical activity levels, and relatively good cardiovascular health have been shown by some studies to be risk factors for ALS, but the relationships are complex and the evidence inconsistent.

Researchers are keen to identify biomarkers linked to ALS, which could ultimately lead to much earlier diagnosis, potentially before symptoms appear, and the hope of preventative treatments.

The authors were able to use data from a very large epidemiological study to try to determine with more certainty

the nature of any relationships between levels of biomarkers associated with cardiovascular disease and subsequent diagnosis of ALS.

They used data for 502,409 people who enrolled in the UK Biobank study between March 2006 and October 2010 when aged 39 to 72 years. All had blood tests at enrolment and were followed for a median of 11.9 years.

The authors looked at the relationship between ALS and baseline blood levels of high and low-density lipoprotein ( H D L a n d L D L ) , t o t a l cholesterol, apolipoproteins A1 and B (apoA1 and apoB), t r i g l y c e r i de s , g l y c a t ed haemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and creatinine. They also looked at the relationship between ALS and self-reported exercise and body mass index.

After controlling for age and sex, the authors found that higher HDL and apoA1 were associated with a lower risk of ALS. Higher total cholesterol: HDL ratio was associated with a higher risk of ALS.

When models incorporating multiple metabolic markers were used to assess the risk of the condition, HDL and apoA1 continued to be associated with a reduced risk of ALS independent of other factors. Lower LDL and apoB levels were also associated with a decreased risk of ALS.

Research suggests warming climate is causing animals to 'shapeshift'esearch has revealed Rsome "warm-blooded" a n i m a l s a r e

shapeshifting and getting larger beaks, legs, and ears to better regulate their body temperatures as the planet gets hotter.

The findings of the study were published in the journal 'Trends in Ecology and Evolution'.

Climate change is not only a human problem, animals have to adapt to it as well.

Bird researcher Sara Ryding of Deakin University in Australia in the research said, "A lot of the time when climate change is discussed in mainstream media, people are asking 'can humans overcome

this?', or 'what technology can solve this?'."

" I t ' s h i g h t i m e w e recognised that animals also have to adapt to these

changes, but this is occurring over a far shorter timescale than would have occurred t h ro u g h m o s t o f t h e evolutionary time," added

Ryding."The climate change that

we have created is heaping a whole lot of pressure on them, and while some species will adapt, others will not," continued Ryding.

Ryding noted that climate change is a complex and multifaceted phenomenon tha t ' s been occu r r i ng progressively, so it is difficult to pinpoint just one cause of the shapeshifting.

But these changes have been occurring across wide geographical regions and among a diverse array of species, so there is little in common apart from climate change.

Strong shapeshifting has

particularly been reported in birds. Several species of Australian parrot have shown, on average, a 4 per cent-10 per cent increase in bill size since 1871, and this is positively correlated with the summer temperature each year.

North American dark-eyed juncos, a type of small songbird, had a link between increased bill size and short-term temperature extremes in cold environments.

There have also been r e p o r t e d c h a n g e s i n m a m m a l i a n s p e c i e s . Researchers have reported tail length increases in wood mice and tail and leg size increases in masked shrews.

Green tea, cocoa-rich diet may help boost survival in elderly

rinking green tea and Dtaking a cocoa-rich diet may reduce age-

re l a t ed neu romuscu l a r alterations that occur with sarcopenia -- the progressive loss of skeletal muscle mass and function, finds a mice study.

Sarcopenia is one of the main reasons for loss of muscle mass. On average, it is estimated that 5-13 percent of elderly people aged 60-70 yea r s a re a f fec ted by sarcopenia. The numbers increase to 11-50 percent for those aged 80 or above.

"Sarcopenia is considered the main causative factor of the physical performance decline in the elderly," said Jordi Caldero from the Universitat de Lleida in Spain.

" T h e c o m p r o m i s e d muscular function associated

with sarcopenia has a negative impact on the life quality of older adults and increases the risk for adverse health outcomes including disability, fall-associated injuries, morbidity, and mortality," Caldero added.

Besides skeletal muscle wasting, sarcopenia entails morphological and molecular c h a n g e s i n d i s t i n c t c o m p o n e n t s o f t h e neuromuscu la r sy s tem, including spinal cord motor neurons and neuromuscular junctions.

At present, the Fed rate in the US remains at the level of 0.25 percent since March 2020. The countries of the world are definitely influenced by the decisions of the Federal Reserve Bank, but their monetary policies are more influenced by the economic and political factors there. Apart from the influence of the Federal Reserve Bank, countries of the world are refraining from cutting policy rates due to weak economy and slow pace of growth. The bank rate there in the United Kingdom was 0.75 per cent in January 2020 and is currently at 0.1 per cent. The bank rate in the Eurozone has remained at zero percent since 2016.

The Reserve Bank of India has been maintaining its soft stance in the monetary review since last year due to the Corona pandemic, due to which there is a situation of excess liquidity in the market. On August 4, 2021, there was an additional liquidity inflow of Rs8.50 lakh crore in the market. The Reserve Bank of India will withdraw additional liquidity of Rs.4 lakh crore from the market with the help of Variable Reverse Repo Rate (VRRR) auction from August to September. However, RBI Governor Shri Shakti kant Das wants to maintain some

additional liquidity in the market till India's economic scenario returns to normal, so as to meet the needs of traders & corporates in case of emergency.

There is a fear of infection of the Delta Plus version of the corona virus in India. This virus has spread to 11 countries including India, America & United Kingdom. According to the data available till August 30, in the states where schools have been partially or fully opened, there has been an increase in corona infection among children below the age of 17 years. Therefore, the possibility of a third wave of the corona pandemic coming to India cannot be ruled out outrightly. In Mumbai & Maharashtra, the cases of Corona Virus infection have started to increase.

Although many sectors have been adversely affected by the Corona pandemic, but Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have been affected the most. This sector contributes 30 percent to the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and is one of the largest employment generating sectors.

According to the Reserve Bank of India data, there was a decline of 0.3 percent in bank credit to MSMEs in June 2021, while credit to micro and small enterprises increased by 6.4 percent during this period. There was a decline of 2.9 percent in credit being given to this sector as compared to last year. However, loans disbursed to medium

enterprises increased by 54.6 percent in the month of June.

The Government's Emergency Credit Line Guarantee Scheme (ECLGS) has brought a lot of relief to the MSME sector, but there is still a need to provide relief to the sector. There is also a need to provide help to big industries and other sectors. Therefore, the work of restructuring the stressed MSME and large loan accounts is being done by the banks. Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman has recently asked the heads of public sector banks to expedite loan disbursement in the coming festive months.

State Bank of India has disbursed a loan of Rs 27000 crore to provide relief to MSMEs affected by the Corona pandemic, but the credit offtake is still very less in other sectors including MSMEs. Not only this, the sanctioned loan limit is also not being utilized by the borrowers.

In the current economic scenario, economic activities will pick up only when MSMEs, large industries and other enterprises start functioning smoothly. For the time being, there is a possibility of the arrival of the third wave of corona pandemic and the need to provide relief to the industries still remains. The distressed industries and businessmen will get relief only when the government and banks both will providing other reliefs to them, cut the loan interest rates or at least keep it

unchanged.Wholesale inflation stood at

11.39 percent in August, as against 11.16 percent in July. There was a decline in wholesale inflation in the months of June and May also. There was a negative decline of 39.81 percent in the wholesale price of potatoes in the month of August. A negative decrease of 13.30 percent was also registered in the wholesale price of other vegetables. It is noteworthy that in the month of August, retail inflation stood at 5.30 percent, which was 5.59 percent in the month of July. Retail inflation is at its lowest in the last 4 months, but it has come down marginally. Also, in the current economic scenario, it is very difficult to say that it will decrease further in the coming months.

Fuel prices increased by 26.09 percent and manufactured products by 11.39 percent in August. Under Manufactured products, prices of food products increased by 12.59 percent, textiles by 17 percent, chemicals by 12.11 percent and base metals by 27.51 percent. However, the price of food items became cheaper by 1.29 percent on a yearly basis. Barring an increase of 9.41 percent in the price of pulses and 62.78 percent in the price of onion, the prices of the rest of the food items registered a decline.

The price of oilseeds among non-edible products increased by 53.79 percent, due to which the retail price of edible oils saw an increase in the month of August. In the month of July also, the

price of oilseeds had increased by 40.75 percent on an annual basis. In August, the price of petrol rose by 61.53 percent. High speed diesel also became costlier by 50.69 percent. The price of LPG increased by 48.11 percent on an annual basis.

If inflation does not come under control in the coming months, the central bank may consider raising the repo rate instead of reducing it, allowing companies and businessmen as well as the common man will have to pay the increased interest amount on loan accounts.

In the June quarter of 2021, GDP grew at the rate of 20.1 percent, due to the base effect. Nevertheless, GDP growth is being recorded consistently on a quarterly basis, which is an indication that the economy is getting back on track, but to maintain this growth rate, the central bank will have to refrain from increasing repo rates in the upcoming monetary reviews. However, in view of rising inflation, it will not be easy for the central bank to do so.

Janhvi Kapoor as Desi PareeHomegrown personal hygiene brand

Paree Sanitary Pads has announced Bollywood actor Janhvi Kapoor as the

new face of the brand. The brand has also launched a new campaign featuring Kapoor with its new range of sanitary pads -'Paree Super Ultra with Double Feathers'. With Kapoor coming on board, the aim is to establish the brand's identity as a young Indian brand disrupting the feminine hygiene

market. Through this association, the company aims to reach out to its

consumers in more relatable ways, said the statement. The new

TVC is a light-hearted take on the widely

used comment 'Iskey toh parr

nikal

aaye' which a girl gets to hear whenever she challenges societal norms and boundaries. The new communication with Kapoor spins this notion on its head by asking women to not hold back during periods physically or psychologically. It shows Janhvi dancing her heart out even during her periods.

“Janhvi Kapoor is a young & talented actor with a strong connect with youth of the country. As a feminine hygiene brand, we understand the many avatars of the modern Indian woman and provide them with products as per her needs" said Soothe Healthcare founder and CEO Sahil Dharia. "Janhvi despite being a star comes across as

real and relatable which endears her to the girls out there making her a perfect fit for the brand." “This association is very close to my heart as it has given me an opportunity to reach out to millions of young girls and encourage them to go ahead and live their life without periods holding them back" said Janhvi Kapoor. "Because for period problems, you have Paree. Also, since the start of my career I have always supported Indian brands and it gives me pride to be a part of their journey."

Special permit to Oldenburg Festival

oing into the 2021 GOldenburg Film Festival, festival

director Torsten Neumann said there was “no Plan B” meaning Oldenburg was determined, despite concerns surrounding the coronavirus pandemic, to host an in person festival. That determination will be put to the test when the 28th Oldenburg International Film Festival kicks

off Wednesday night. Neumann and his team applied for, and have received, special allowance from German authorities to host a full-capacity theater for the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2021 festival. The galas will take place in the Oldenburg State Theater, a 19th-century baroque building whose main stage can accommodate close

to 600 people.Attendees will have to be

either fully vaccinated show proof of a recent negative COVID-19 test or proof of having recovered from a coronavirus infection. Masks will also be required for the duration of the galas. But those restrictions seem a small price to pay for the promise of a true opening night experience. Opening galas at the recent Venice and Toronto Film Festivals felt oddly muted this year, in part because capacity limitations meant the events were playing to half-empty theaters. For its opening night, which will feature the world premiere of the German boxing movie Uppercut starring Hardy Daniel Krueger and Luise Grossmann, Oldenburg is planning to go big. Thai composer Somtow Sucharitkul who wrote and stars in the Thai horror film The Maestro, which will have its world premiere in Oldenburg, will present an original orchestral piece for the occasion.
