Population First, an advocacy and communication organization, has been advocating for gender sensitivity for a decade, through creating mind set change in the community. We have been striving to bring about this change by influencing the influencers i.e the media, youth and elected representatives. Laadli – our flagship campaign has been on the forefront with its pan India initiatives towards encouraging positive portrayal of women in the society. It is well known that media is an influential platform where one can reach out to large community and it can influence the mindset of the community. The engagement with the media is viz through activities like gender sensitization workshops for senior editors, working journalists and scriptwriters, media fellowships and Laadli Media Awards. The efforts are targeted to challenge the stereotypes and open a dialogue within different stakeholders of the community towards gender sensitive perception of women in the society.

We highly appreciate your support in our cause to advocate positive portrayal of women in society by printing this news in your esteem publication.
