1.5.5 Mock-Up: Provide a mock-up for evaluation of surface preparation techniques and application workmanship.1.5.5.1 Finish areas designated by Architect.1.5.5.2 Do not proceed with remaining work until workmanship is approved by Architect.1.5.5.3 Refinish mock-up area as required to produce acceptable work.

1.6 PRE-INSTALLATION MEETINGS

1.6.1 Convene minimum two weeks prior to starting work of this section.

1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING

1.7.1 Deliver and store products in manufacturer's unopened packaging bearing the brand name and manufacturer's identification until ready for installation.

1.7.2 Handling: Handle materials to avoid damage.

1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS

1.8.1 Maintain environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) within limits recommended by manufacturer for optimum results. Do not install products under environmental conditions outside manufacturer's recommended limits.

1.9 WARRANTY

1.9.1 Vinyl Siding: Provide manufacturer's standard, lifetime, non-prorated, transferable warranty that products are free from manufacturing defects, hail damage, and uniform weathering.1.9.1.1 Color-Rich Coverage: Calculated according to ASTM D2244:

1.9.1.1.1 Premium colors shall not change in excess of 3 Hunter units.1.9.1.1.2 Standard colors shall not change in excess of 4 Hunter units.

1.9.1.2 Thermal and Permeability Performance:1.9.1.2.1 Thermal resistance shall not vary more than 10 percent from published R-

values when tested in accordance with ASTM C1363.1.9.1.2.2 Permeability shall not vary more than 5 perms per inch (25.4 mm) from

2.15 ACCESSORlES

2.15.1 Provide manufacturer's inside corners, outside corners, posts, channels, nailers, under sill trim, starter strips, finish trim and other accessories as shown on the drawings and as recommended by the manufacturer for a complete installation.2.15.1.1 Colors: As indicated on the drawings.2.15.1.2 Materials: Of the same materials and finish with similar properties as vinyl siding.

2.15.2 Fasteners: Galvanized steel, stainless steel or other corrosion-resistant fasteners as recommended by the manufacturer.

3 EXECUTION

3.1 EXAMINATION

3.1.1 Do not begin installation until substrates have been properly prepared.

3.1.2 Confirm critical dimensions and existing structure are within the manufacturer's limits and tolerances.

3.1.3 If substrate preparation is the responsibility of another installer, notify Architect of unsatisfactory preparation before proceeding.

3.2 PREPARATION

3.2.1 Clean surfaces thoroughly prior to installation.

3.2.2 Prepare surfaces using the methods recommended by the manufacturer for achieving the best result for the substrate under the project conditions.

3.2.3 Where required, repair substrate flaws and defects to ensure even installation surfaces, free from obstructions.

3.3 INSTALLATION

3.3.1 Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, the latest edition of the Vinyl Siding Institute (VSI) Installation Manual and details shown on the drawings.

3.3.2 Install wood shims at building corners to bring cut edges of vertical siding out to correct and even planes.

3.3.3 Attach panels by placing fastener in the center of slots for horizontal panels, and top slot for vertical panels. Drive fasteners straight leaving 1/16 inch (1.6 mm) space between heads and panel flanges.

3.3.4 Panels and joints shall be plumb and true. Stagger joints in a uniform pattern as successive courses are installed.

3.3.5 Allow space between both ends of siding panels and trim for thermal movement. Overlap horizontal panel ends one-half the width of factory pre-cut notches.

3.3.6 Securely attach panel components, accessories and trim using methods recommended by the manufacturer.

3.4 CLEANING

3.4.1 Remove fingerprints and tool marks, clean soiled areas in accordance with the manufacturers instructions and the Vinyl Siding Institute (VSI) Cleaning and Maintenance

3.4.2 Remove packaging and unused materials from the project site.

3.5 PROTECTION

3.5.1 Protect installed products until completion of project.

3.5.2 Touch-up, repair or replace damaged products before Substantial Completion.
