ABSOLUTE SUPERHERO PROJECT OVERVIEW:

This is an individual project that is worth 50 points. You will create an absolute superhero. The project will mix historical fact with the modern superhero genre. (Note: I am unfamiliar with the modern superhero genre, and therefore I will buy whatever you create. This is meant to be a fun, easy grade. Don’t kill yourself over it. I plan on giving out lots of 50’s!!!)

All projects must include the following components:

1. You will need to include a 1 page write-up on the background information and explanation of your superhero. The support for your project must be research-based and go beyond lecture material from class. (25 pts)

Paragraph 1: True background regarding the actual importance of your person.Paragraph 2: An explanation of your poster detailing why they got the attributes you gave them.

2. Construct the Absolute Superhero – 10 Characteristics: Your superhero will have all of the characteristics of the Absolute ruler of this time. Your hero must reflect 10 defining characteristics with supporting historical evidence and information. If must be creatively displayed. All of these these will be visible on a poster of your superhero. (25 points)

Choose one of the following: Louis XIV, Cardinal Richelieu, Henry IV, William of Orange, Charles I, Oliver Cromwell, James II, Ivan the Terrible, Peter the Great, Catherine the Great, Frederick William, the Great Elector, Frederick William I, Frederick the Great, Maria Theresa, Joseph II.
