Sightseeing Tour of Vienna Entrance to Haus der Musik Entrance to Mozarthaus Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Have breakfast at your hotel, then depart for a day of close-up sightseeing in Vienna. Visit such locations as the State Opera House, Parliament, City Hall, the Imperial Palace, and the Cathedral. The State Opera House originally opened in 1869 and is a staple of Viennese history—it survived bombing during the end of World War II. The Austrian Parliament was completed in 1883 and is the site of important state ceremonies, including the swearing-in ceremony of the President of Austria. The Imperial Palace, or Hofburg, is the former principal imperial palace of the Habsburg dynasty and serves today as the seat of the President of Austria. Complete your tour, then head to Haus der Musik, an interactive museum of sound and music in Austria. It has an exhibition space of 54,000 sq. ft., featuring a range of interactive and multimedia presentations that introduce the world of music to visitors, from the earliest human use of instruments leading into the present day. Your musical education culminates in a visit to Mozarthaus, Mozart’s residence from 1784 to 1787. It is his only surviving Viennese residence and is now a museum. In the evening, gather for dinner at a local restaurant, then return to your hotel and relax. Day 4

Visit Schönbrunn Palace with Guided Tour Free Time Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before heading to the Schönbrunn Palace for a guided tour. It was the main summer residence of the Habsburg dynasty. It is an 1,441-room Baroque palace. It is one of the most important architectural, cultural, and historical monuments in the country! It has a 300-year old history that reflects the changing tastes, interests, and goals of the Habsburg monarchs. It features sculpture gardens and even its own set of Roman Ruins which have been fully integrated into the surrounding park. In the afternoon, your will have free time to explore Vienna as you wish. Day 5

founded in 1089, but today’s Baroque abbey was built between 1702 and 1736. It has seen continued restoration efforts throughout its lifetime. It is an Austrian jewel that sits above the beautiful Danube River. Finish your journey to Salzburg after this memorable visit. Upon arrival, take a panoramic coach tour of the city. Salzburg, renowned for its architecture and best-preserved city center north of the Alps, is the birthplace of Mozart and the setting for the famous musical, The Sound of Music. Immerse yourself in its impressive Alpine setting as you acquaint yourself with the city. In the evening, have dinner and check in to your local Salzburg hotel. Day 6

Sightseeing Tour of Salzburg Visit Geburtshaus Visit Hohensalzburg Fortress Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Have breakfast at your hotel, then embark on a sightseeing tour of Salzburg. See sites such as the Cathedral, St. Peter’s Abbey, and Mirabell Gardens. The Salzburg Cathedral is a Baroque masterpiece originally founded in 774, then rebuilt in 1181 after a fire. It is the city’s most important sacred structure and the spiritual heart of Salzburg! St. Peter’s Abbey is a Benedictine monastery and former cathedral—it is considered one of the oldest monasteries in this area, with a continuous history beginning in 696. Mirabell Gardens, attached to Mirabell Palace, is listed as a UNESCo World Heritage Site and was built as a token of love by prince-archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau. Visit Geburtshaus, Mozart’s birthplace. Much like his Viennese residence, it is now a museum that visitors can explore. Finally, visit Hohensalzburg Fortress, which sits above Salzburg on a hill. It is one of the largest and best-preserved fortresses in central Europe. In the evening, have dinner and reflect on your time in Austria over delicious food with your group. Return to your Salzburg hotel and relax. Day 7

Depart Meals: Breakfast Enjoy breakfast in your hotel, check out, and transfer to a major local airport for your return flight home. All too soon, your time in Italy has come to an end. You may do some last-minute shopping at the duty-free stores before boarding your aircraft. It is important to arrive at least three hours before your international flight is scheduled to depart.
