    Note: The VideoEdge software is installed on the server, the VideoEdge Software Recovery USB should be kept in a safe place. The serial number printed on the label is your proof of license to use the software this will be required if you need to recover your system .

    Localized Power Cord

    The VideoEdge Hybrid Appliance should be powered up and running. The VideoEdge web page should be displayed on the client PC.

    Is the Unit Functioning as Described?

    NO!

    If you have checked all these items and the unit fails to power up, or you repowered your unit and the unit still fails to operate properly, please contact your American Dynamics Representative.

    YES!

    The VideoEdge Hybrid Appliance is ready to be licensed and configured.

    Is the VideoEdge Hybrid Appliance powered up?Check the power connections.

    Did you see the boot sequence on the VGA/DVI-I monitor?If not, power the VideoEdge Hybrid Appliance off and restart. You may need to re-install the NVR Software.

    Can you connect with a browser?If not, verify the IP address is correct by using the ping command from a Command Prompt window. Verify the network connections, IP addresses and subnet masks on the client. The default IP addresses is 10.10.10.10.

    Connect Power and additional cables as indicated:

    It is highly recommended to use an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

    Always follow appropriate safety precautions

    Unit powers up when you press the Power button on the front panel

    Be sure to use surge protection for power supply and provide appropriate grounding

    VGA Monitor and peripherals should be powered up before the unit is powered up

    (Optional) Connect PTZ cables to serial connectors for PTZ controls

    Connect DVI-I to blue female connector, HDMI and Display ports to their corresponding connectors.

    Connect Monitor via DVI-I, HDMI or Display Port

    Connect Analog Cameras (Up to 16)

    Connect Power Cord

    Connect BNC Monitor Out #1

    4 Power Up and Test

    The unit will power up as soon as you press the Power button on the front of the unit.

    VideoEdge Software Recovery USB

    Note: Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 8 or 9 are the only supported browsers for ac-cessing the Appliance web interface.

    Enter the default Username admin and default Password VIDEO!edge23

    Note: The VideoEdge Hybrid Appliance is supplied with a temporary 60 day licence. To register for your full licence you are required to configure your NVR to the configura-tion you wish to use then Generate a Host ID, see User Manual for further information.

    To apply for your licence use the VideoEdge Licensing Activation Icon to be directed to the American Dynamics website or enter the address in your browser

    Connect LAN 1 Cable to RJ45 Connector

    Note: For reliable time based playback both the VideoEdge Hybrid Appliance and Client PC need to be configured as clients.

    Note - To access the Power Button you must remove the bezel

    A series of boot messages appear and the system loads to the OS log in page.

    Default Factory Settings

    Network Settings: Eth0 has a default IP address of 10.10.10.10, Eth1 has a static IP ad-dress. Storage Settings: One media partition is configured on each connected hard drive. Media Folders are Enabled for storage. Appliance OS Credentials (For local access to the device OS): default Username - root and default Password - nvr Appliance Web Interface (For remote access and configuration): default Username - admin and default Password - VIDEO!edge23

    Log on to the Appliance web interface on remote client.

    Enter the default IP address into the address bar of your web browser.
