E) Use new boxes, cushion items comfortably. Be generous. Packing is a good investment
How to protect your shipment’s contents
According to international shipping services specialists, some items are more easily damaged and can be spoiled if not packed properly when shipping to United Kingdom and shipping to India. Check out these helpful guidelines by a top international shipping company:
Documents
Avoid loose paper. Wrap your brochures in brown or white craft-paper and put the pack in an appropriately sized box or envelope.
Small quantities can be sent directly in an envelope. For larger quantities paper should be placed in a box.
Strap your boxes if possible.
Books
The most sensitive part of the books is the corners. Pack your books in the best quality corrugated fiberboard.
If your books cannot be placed in an envelope, pack the wrapped books inside an appropriately sized box.
Fill in the rest of the box with cushioning material.
Liquids
Secure all liquid containers in order to avoid leaks caused by vibration during transit. Poor packing may cause your shipment to damage other shipments.
Wrap the containers in an water-proof zip lock, if possible, wrap with towels as a sufficient absorbent material to absorb the liquid in case of leaks.
Separate bottles with cushioning material so they do not touch each other.
Maps and blueprints
The best way to ship your blue prints or maps is to roll your maps, plans and blueprints and insert them into a triangular tube. FedEx, DHL and UPS supply these tubes.
Securely seal both ends of the tube.
Sharp items like Scissors and knives
Use heavy-duty cardboard to ensure that all points and edges are fully covered. Place the heavily wrapped objects inside a box. Use plenty of cushioning material. Do not allow the sharp items to touch the sides of the container.
Electrical items and electronic equipment
Most manufacturer's packaging is often designed for marketing purposes and LOCAL shipping. Use additional packaging according to the weight, Size and how fragile the item.
Use strong cardboard boxes, allowing sufficient cushioning material to be placed all around the items. {Pre-used} boxes. They break easily.
U-haul, Home Depot and Lows have all types of packaging material help you in your packing.
Toys and games
Most manufacturers’ packaging is often designed for marketing purposes and LOCAL shipping. Use additional packaging according to the weight, Size and how fragile the item.
If you are shipping stuffed animals by air, consider that you may buy them cheaper at destination.
