outline

I. The agony in hell must move our fervency in soulwinning.A. Believers have a limited time to win

souls, and so do the lost to be saved.B. Believers must not waste opportunities

in winning the lost for Christ. II. The anger of God’s impending

judgment must motivate our fervency in soulwinning. A. God’s anger must be appeased. B. God’s anger is appeased through the

gospel preaching.

III. The anticipation of the Triune God to save sinners must multiply our fervency in soulwinning.

A. The Father in Heaven is always ready to save and institute a fresh start in Christ’s behalf.

B. The Father’s Advocate is always ready to settle and intercede for the sinner’s behalf.

C. The Father’s Comforter is always ready to soften and interrelate in the heart of the sinners.

Victorious Christian Living (Fervency in Soulwinning)Luke 15:10 / Luke 19:10

“Great Joy in the Church

“And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice,

came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city.”

Acts 8:6-8

Since CBBC started as a mission work in 1976, God mightily used it for men to hear about and experience the miracle of salvation. Through God’s power, many have been spiritually healed which, con-sequently, produced great joy to the Church. Truly, CBBC has been an effective testimony of man’s salvation through the years. The growth of the Church in quantity did not adversely affect its quality and effectiveness in service and in the Word of God. CBBC expanded its ministries, started more mission works and organized churches. Though the Church went through a split in 1981, it contin-ued serving faithfully. Hence, this same year marked the birth of the first daughter church in Los Baños, Laguna. The CBBC attendance grew and reached up to 100-150 by 1982 and there was a need for more teachers and preachers. Pastor Ed and his wife started a mini-institute for Sunday School Teachers and Preachers with 4 subjects. They had 17 attendees whom they taught twice in a week.

In 1984, the mini-Bible Institute became a Summer Bible Institute. Classes were then held daily with three additional instructors. A Church-school ministry began in 1985 with six volunteer staff trained using the Accel-erated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum.

Construction began on a lot beside the first building to house the Christian Bible Baptist Academy which started with 30 students. Likewise, in 1986, the Bible

Page 3: Victorious Christian Living (Fervency in Soulwinning) - February 13, 2011

Seminary was formally organized with 7 instruc-tors and 9 students. The second mission work was also opened in Batangas province, and so was another outreach in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in the Middle East.

Within four years (1987-1991), the Academy and the Seminary continued to minister through teach-ing students and equipping them with the Word of God. In 1991, the graduation ceremonies of the first batch of both the CBBA and the Bible Semi-nary graduates were held.

“And being brought on their way by the church,… declaring the conversion of the Gentiles:…

they caused great joy unto all the brethren.” Acts 15:3

Having great joy in hearing more souls being reached and getting saved in other places, the Church also started supporting 48 churches and missions all over the Philippines in 1991. A church in California, USA was started in the year 1992 while the church attendance continued to grow. In 1995, more missions were established into local churches. For the joy of ministering to those who are help-less and in need, CBBC started the deaf and mute minis-try in 1994 to reach hearing impaired folks. Likewise, the Loving Hands Ministry Orphanage came into existence to shelter and care for the abandoned, neglected, and orphaned children. Since its initial operation in 1996, the orphanage has been a blessing to 22 homeless children. The Christian Bible Baptist Seminary

adopted the name Baptist Heritage Bible Seminary, and was elevated into a college that same year, bearing the name Baptist Heritage Bible College. After two decades since the Church began as a mission, on its 20th year, CBBC established three new churches in 1999, and another two missions were started.

CBBC also expanded its ministry to the young people as it held its first National Baptist Youth Convention, which catered to the Baptist youth all over the Philippines. More than 500 delegates came from different churches. Since then, CBBC has been consistent-ly hosting this event every year and many Baptist young people are being challenged, changed, and called into full- time service. Because of the increasing number of deaf members, the church opened a

specialized school for them in 1999. BHBC in-cluded in its program a Special Education Depart-ment to educate deaf and mute students. In the year 2000, the school began accepting preschool, elementary, and secondary age children. New ministries were also started which grew spiritually and numerically. Seeing families being united and strength-ened is another aspect in which CBBC finds joy. Hence, in 2001, CBBC focused on families through the divided Sunday School classes set-up. A new ministry started by the Church in October of 2002 opened another opportunity for CBBC men to be involved. CBBC organized the Baptist Security Command (BAPSECOM) in which men, especially the heads of the families, maintain the orderliness of church services. The BAPSECOM performs community and school-based protection programs and seminars. They also give Biblical sermons to all municipal officials and employees during their Monday morning exercises. Through such, different people from all walks of life—from military men and municipal officials to high school and college students—are saved as they listen to lectures about God’s love. In 2004, another Church was born when the Dagupan City mission was organized in April. Moreover, a reorganized outreach in Dasmariñas, Cavite was started. As more souls are being won in other parts of the Philippines through missions and

outreaches being opened, CBBC continues not only to share the Gospel, but also to teach those people who are being won. Thus, the “Seven-Stage Discipleship Program” was launched in 2005 to feed spiritually the growing number of converts more systematically. Great joy can be felt when the first batch of grad-uates of the “Seven Stage Discipleship Program” was presented

as disciplers in 2007. This is only another aspect in which the Church’s testimony in its effectiveness in the Word of God, was shown.Other doors to evangelize were opened with the use of technology through the first television broadcast. It was also in 2007 when the first radio broadcast was heard and the Old Baptist Voice was aired. This year likewise marked the Bauan Mission organization.

UNMET EXPECTATIONS CAN BE DISCOURAGING. Whether it is a raise at work that never came through,

or a disappointment in a personal relationship, these unex-pected results can rob us of our passion. This is especially true when it comes to soulwinning. One of the primary hin-drances of soulwinning is discouragement because of a lack of apparent results.

When a Christian first goes soulwinning, it can be excit-ing just to pass out invitations in his community. After a few weeks of seemingly no results, he can become discouraged. He may begin to think, “I’ll go, but nothing is going to hap-pen.” With this mind set, he is probably right. We must be faith-filled, believing God will use us every time we go out.

Every door is a new opportunity. During times when it seems like nothing is happening, we must remember the blessing of why we share the Gospel. Here are a few thoughts to rejoice in every time you attempt to share Christ:You have the confirmation that you have been obedient to God’s command.

One of the greatest blessings as a Christian comes from knowing you are fulfilling God’s will in your life, and God’s will for every believer is to share the Gospel. It is a thrill knowing He is using you.

No one wants to feel useless. Every one wants to know that his life is valuable. God promises that His Word will not return void. Every time you share His Word, whether you visibly see the results or not, you can rest assured that God will use your labor! You have the fulfillment of achieving one of your life’s purposes.

Many people go through life searching for their pur-pose. As Christians, we have the joy of knowing our pur-pose, and it is found in John 20:21 when Jesus said, “Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”You have the joy of participating in eternal life-change.

The Gospel changes lives—whether or not we see the immediate fruit. Salvation is not just a ticket to Heaven, but it is a new life in Jesus Christ. What a great blessing to have a small part in spreading the life-changing news of Christ. The seed you are sowing will ultimately result in eternal transfor-mation. (2 Corinthians 5:17).You have the delight of entering into another’s labor.

It is wonderful to see God using several different peo-ple to bring someone to Him. Not everyone is saved the first time they hear the Gospel. When you tell someone of Christ, you get to be a divine touch—perhaps one of many—that God will use to open that heart. (1 Corinthians 3:7).

A SOULWINNER'S POEM

Is there anything else that is better worth,As alone life’s way we plod,

Than to find some wandering soul of earth,And bring him home to God?

I would rather find a soul that is lost,And bring him home again,

Than to own what all earth’s acres cost,Or all the wealth of men.

Wouldn’t I be glad when the day is done,In breathing my latest breath,

To know some word of mine had wonAnd saved a soul from death?

Two years after, in 2009, two more mission works were started in Lipa, Batangas and Noveleta, Cavite. Both mission works are now rapidly growing.

It was in May of 2010 when 50 young people were taught to play various musical instruments. DRAFTS which stands for Developing Rendered Abilities For The Saviour is a great avenue that will help the CBBC’s vision of a church orchestra come to reality. It will also develop and encourage young people to serve God with their talents.

“And the disciples were filled with joy, and with the Holy Ghost.” Acts 13:52

Five key-men of the Church were all publicly ordained as Gospel ministers during a special service last June 30.While on the first quarter of 2010, by the lead-ing of the Holy Spirit, two foreign outreaches in Chungli and Taichung, Taiwan, were started. Another outreach in Singapore also began with Dr. Ed present during the first Sunday Service on July11. Meanwhile, frontliners and long-time active church members were both honored and given special plaques last August 29. This brought happiness and joy to them who have had a part in God’s service, realizing that their “…labor in the Lord is not in vain.” (Gal. 6:9) Testimonies and special songs were rendered to encourage many to be involved in the ministry. What a joy is it to know that CBBC has been and is persevering to be truly effective in salvation, in service and in the Word of God. It will be a greater joy to know that by God’s upholding grace, CBBC will continue to be as such not only in the following year but until Christ returns!

May God be continually glorified and magnified!
