Role-played activities similar to those expected of trainees. There were a number of talks on different practicing sectors and their roles within the firm. Wedlake Bell LLP (March 2014) – Work Experience Work with the residential property team, enriched understanding of property law, the importance of client relations and the roles that the team undertook, for example, undertaking research tasks, compiling client bundles and amending engrossment leases. Evidence of team management and exposure to the life of a commercial lawyer was gained. Allen & Overy (June 2013) – Open Day

Work Experience

practical legal experience in the form of negotiating.

Warner Music Group (June 2013) – Work Experience Alongside the General Counsel in the legal department. Roles included, reading and interpreting contracts, conducting legal research on prospective clients and editing

non-disclosure agreements. Appreciation of forming client relationships and understanding their needs was developed.

Re:Sources UK, Publicis Groupe (July 2013) – Work Experience Provided insight into how an in-house legal department is run and the teamwork aspect of the tasks. This experience triggered a great enthusiasm towards media law and provided insight into work undertaken by

lawyers in the field.

Davenport Lyons (October 2010) – Work Experience Identified the roles and responsibilities of lawyers both in the firm, and in practice in the High Court. Interpreted relevant case law to use as precedent, and worked alongside a team in editing an article for the PLC

magazine.

Employment Wimbledon Tennis Championships (July 2014 & 2015) – Court Attendant Teamwork skills were used when working alongside a team of over sixty people at the prestigious annual event

and responsibility for ensuring all needs of the players on court were satisfied. Working 15-hours for 28 days demonstrates commitment and enthusiasm.

London 2012 Olympic Games (July-August 2012) – Team Leader, The Retail People Responsible for a team of ten others. Initiative was used to deal with huge crowds and complaints, whilst coping with unexpected long working hours.

The main goal was customer satisfaction and keeping high team morale.

The Royal Oak Pub (September 2011 – February 2012) – Waitress/Barista Working full time alongside a team of employees at a traditional English pub where customer friendliness and

quick service was renowned demonstrates commitment and motivation in a high-pressure environment.

Activities and Interests

Volunteering: Brownlee Foundation (September 2014)

Working alongside the British Triathlon Foundation to promote healthy living to schoolchildren in the local areas. Shared responsibilities for over 1000 children.

Sport: Tennis: University of Leeds Women’s 1st and 2nd, Berkshire U18.Hockey: Berkshire U16.

Teaching: Assistant Tennis Coach (School Summer Holidays)

Enthusiasm, reliability and consistency were the key to the success of the sessions to construct appropriate sessions.

Sports Leadership Award: Gained higher sports leadership award Level 3. Coached a range of sports to different groups within the community, including children with disabilities.
