Steven Leshem, DVM, who works at Veterinary Specialists of Connecticut, is
board certified in veterinary surgery. He also has practiced at Mesa Veterinary Hospital in Golden, Colorado, and Veterinary Specialists
of Nevada in Reno. Dr. Steven Leshem’s areas of expertise include neurosurgery, as well as orthopedic and soft tissue surgical
procedures, including arthroscopy and laparoscopy techniques.
Steve Leshem, DVM, is certified as a specialist in veterinary surgery, and he is a
member of the Veterinary Specialist Network of New England. The American Veterinary Medical Association defines a veterinary specialist as one who has successfully
completed extensive postgraduate training and passed examinations set by an AVMA-recognized specialty organization, such as the Veterinary Specialist Network of New
England.
The mission of the Veterinary Specialist Network of New England is to increase
access to specialists, enhance professional training, and support scientific progress in
animal health. Veterinary specialties include anesthesiology, dentistry, emergency and critical care medicine, nutrition, oncology,
surgery, and zoological medicine.
