Ben has a passion for outdoor adventure sports and has spent countless summers
in the mountains of Europe, mountain biking, climbing, trekking and whitewater
rafting. Ben has tried his hand at all the sports covered in Vertical Drop over
the years and likes to think there’s no challenge he wouldn’t face. Ben has an
intimate knowledge of the mountains all year round, so provides a valuable
insight and contribution to Vertical Drop Magazine.
Ben joined the InTheSnow team in 2009 and has been writing for the ski
magazine for three seasons. Now aged 19 Ben is our News Correspondent and

Patrick has been a full time, year round, professional ski writer for 25 years.
Nicknamed ‘The Snow Hunter’ he has located 6,000 ski areas in 80 countries and
for the past decade has published a weekly bulletin of stories from ski resorts all
around the planet, notching up more than 5,000 reports.
He has written a dozen books on skiing, received several awards, had his work
translated in to more than 20 languages and was named ‘One of 20 People To know in
Ski’ by The Times. So naturally Patrick’s passion, knowledge and enthusiasm for the
mountains has led to this natural progression of producing a summer action mag.

Dominic founded Square Mile in 2002, providing Wi-Fi on yachts . Within just 4
years, BT bought the company. At the same time, Dominic sold an online marine
publishing business that was less than 12 months old! With a small pot of other
business interests, his ultimate aim was to create a business that fulfilled his
passion for the outdoors.
Identifying an obvious gap in the Ski Publishing market in the 2007/8 Ski Season,
InTheSnow magazine was launched. Now with the same gap existing in the
summer mountain travel market, Vertical Drop Magazine was launched in 2011
and is already recognised as owning a niche in it’s market.
