About this release Athena Software is pleased to announce the release of Penelope v4.9.4.0 EDGE.

Please review previous release notes if upgrading from a version prior to Version 4.1. Crucial information regarding upgrade details specific to each version are included in the applicable version’s release notes.

This upgrade contains important security measures designed to keep your system safe. We consistently monitor and update the security of Penelope to ensure your data is protected. It is always important to stay up-to-date with the most recent version of Penelope to ensure you are using the most secure version of the software.

What is an Edge Release? This is a supported version of Penelope that has both security updates as well as other features or functionality enhancements. This is helpful for organizations that want to take advantage of all the latest features added in Penelope or stay up to date with any third-party synchronizations (for example, DSS or NDIS).

What is a Long Term Release? This is a supported version of Penelope that has security updates during its lifecycle but no other features or functionality enhancements. This is helpful for organizations that want to deliberately plan how they roll out new functionality according to their own timescale as opposed to when Penelope updates are available.

Configuration Settings Enhancement Description Documentation

Languages list now modifiable System Administrators now have access to create, modify, inactivate, and delete languages from the standard Languages list in Penelope.

The Languages list is found in Agency Setup > Settings > Field Setup > Languages.

Note: The Languages list part of the Personal Demographic Information feature is not affected by this update and continues to reflect the standards in the United States.

Use this Contact by Default option relabeled to Make this Contact Mandatory

On the Agency Setup > Contact Type tab, the Use this Contact by Default option has been relabeled to Make this Contact Mandatory.

Now, when this option is enabled, the Contact Type will be mandatory on the Intake Wizard and Add Individual tools.

We recommend that you review your list of Contact Types after upgrading to v4.9.4.0 to review which type(s) you wish to make mandatory

The Automated Event message prefix (SMS only) setting in External Communications has been moved from the External Communications > Settings tab to the Recipient Configuration tab.

New Automated Event Message Footer (Email only) setting for External Communications

The Automated Event Message Footer (Email only) setting allows you to optionally include a custom message in the footer of all Event Update and Event Confirmation emails sent to clients.

Confirmation when removing Event Attendees now lists member’s name

When removing an Event Attendee or member of a service, the Confirmation popup now includes the member’s name.

Affected features of Penelope include:

• Informal Series > Roster tab > Rostered list • Service File > Participants list • Case > Members list • Informal Event > Attendee list • Indirect Event > Attendee list • Service Event > Attendee list

For example, the Confirmation popup when removing a Worker from an Indirect Event will read:

Improved sorting of Resources In the following locations, Resources are now sorted by Type then Name:

• Agency Schedule page • Book Event pages (all) • Add Service Wizard (including when launched as part

Improved search options for Anonymous Service List

The Anonymous Services List now includes Anonymous Service ID and Worker Name as Search Criteria/filters.

Security Class Settings Enhancement Description Documentation

New security setting to restrict ability to edit a Worker’s own Worker Profile.

A new security setting, Restrict Write Access to the Worker's Own Profile, is available in the Security Class Setup > Worker Security Settings section. If enabled, this setting prevents Workers from editing their own Worker Profile.
